Hi there, my name is Ashley and I am a student doing consumer behavior research regarding consumer behavior and weddings. What cultural values and norms do you feel influenced your wedding plans? What does the ritual of having a wedding mean to you?

Any feed back would be fabulous, thank you!!:yesnod:

simply put, my family tradition influenced my wedding. I'm from Europe, so our wedding was very traditional to our home land.

I must have missed this before as it is a few months old now ...

For me there was no real cultural things that influenced us; at least not in the traditional way. We just wanted to be married and have a simple ceremony. We got married in our living room with our parents there and that was it.

The ceremony itself was sort of a formal declaration and made it feel official I guess.

Family members influenced some of my decisions for my wedding definately. Like I had a reception because my mother wanted to make a big cake, also the fact that if I was going to get the big poofy dress I needed an aisle to walk down. lol.

Our wedding was primarily influenced by the religious aspects. Everything started with the actual religious ceremony and built from there. I suppose there were a few local cultural things but it's kind of a circular question - does our local culture not include some stuff because it isn't available, or is it not available because of the local culture?
