I guess that is one way to eliminate a dentist office as an option. I called and immediately was asked if I could hold, okay fine that usually happens. Then I sat on hold for literally 15 mins, and then it hung up on me.
Guess I'll move on to the next one on the list lol.

That works! hahaha
I am in the same boat and need to find a dentist. I just don't trust them all as I've been in and out of a lot of them... my mom was a dental assistant when I was growing up. Therefore, I am very picky lol.
Good luck finding one that works for you :)

I just went through this too and had alot of luck finding reviews on the dentists that were on my insurance plan. The crazy thing was the ones that were on plan in the bigger city near my home had terrible reviews, but the dentist in the little town just down the road had great reviews so I made my appointment and my new dentist is great!! Might be worth your googling reviews too!

I agree with your decision! Good luck with finding a dentist. After we move, that's gonna be the next big thing for us... and we also need to find doctors. Scariness... hehe.

I hate when that happens!
One time, years ago, I called this pizza place that I wanted to get takeout from. Same thing, put me on hold and just left me there. I got so irritated that I kept the phone to my ear all the way there and when I got there the place was pretty empty and the two people working there were just hanging out. I said "You've got someone on hold? That's me..." I laughed it off and everything but underneath I was pretty annoyed. ;)

I wish my insurance's website had reviews of the doctors. I wonder why they don't. It would be really helpful. I haven't had luck finding doctor/dentist reviews online. They always seem to say, No one has reviewed this doctor yet lol

My insurance site didn't have the reviews, I just googled the name of the dentist and added the word review to the end of it. Not all dentists were reviewed, but quite a few actually were. Hopefully that will be the case for you too!
Maybe this link will help some:

OMG Gwen...you're hilarious!!
That's why we have a beeping notification on our phones at work...if somebody is on hold for 4 or 5 minutes, then it beeps really loud and doesn't stop until somebody picks it up. Usually it's pretty annoying because it might just be taking us a little while to track down something for them. However, sometimes on busy weekends it does help us catch somebody that was put on hold and not yet helped.
I hate having to find new doctors. We still need to find a dentist and I'm not looking forward to it. Right now we're on the hunt for a pediatrician.

I agree with checking reviews! It does make life so much easier in the fact that its so hard to know who is good or not....
I'm sorry they put you on hold and hung up on you, though! Thats just rude. :(

I hate being on hold. Especially if it's dead air. Don't know if I'm still connected or not.
I think the fun part is when they finally ask you what your information is you tell them to hold, you need to get it.
