New to the site

Hi. I'm new to the site. We recently got engaged (in February) but we don't have a date set yet. We're both from the east coast and we're living on the west coast which I imagine will make it complicated to plan. It's my second wedding, his first. I'd be happy with a small destination wedding and he wants the big full out bash. He has a large family and many friends back home, I have a smaller family and few friends who would travel back east to be there. I'm so happy and I do want the day to be very special but I'm just not looking forward to jumping into a year of planning and stressing over the wedding. When people ask when we're getting married, we say we haven't set a date yet...we're taking it slow, no rush.

Any suggestions or anyone been in this position?

Hey and welcome to OneWed! Congratulations on your engagement! I can understand you not wanting to drag out and plan for a whole year. You can still have a decent size wedding and only plan it in a few months. Several women on here are doing just that. I would suggest perhaps setting a date about 6 months from now. That way you guys can still have your big bash and you will not have to think about it for a whole year!
