View Full Version : Any Ebay sellers here?
I saw something I wanted on Ebay and when I click the "buy it now" button, a page pops up that says:
Transaction blocked
Seller is unable to accept funds at this time.
But all the other buy it now buttons in her store work just fine.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I've never heard of that but some thoughts that came to mind:
- are you a new ebayer? sometimes you can block new ebayers I believe.
- maybe there is an investigation/claim into the seller so they can't use their paypal account?
Hopefully Mitch will see this and maybe know.

There are some restrictions a seller can put on their listings to block certain users; like Ashley said ... could be a block on new users or users with too little feedback, or that don't have a PayPal account. I would assume that something like this is the problem.
Thanks for the answers
I'm not new, but I don't buy often... only have 58 feedbacks (but all positive) in 2 years, so that sounds like it could be it.
Still, she's only blocking me from buying a piece of lace she has "on sale"....she's not blocking me from buying one of her outrageously priced $80 veils etc. Sounds really fishy is all. Plus she has low 99.2 rating herself
Boo-hoo...the lace is so pretty, too!

You could try to message the seller and see what the deal is and if they will lift the restrictions for you; it may not work, but can't hurt to try I guess ;)
Well, I tried buy it now button again, and this time, instead of that message page, I got through the commit to buy page, and was taken to paypal, and when I logged in there paypal said seller can't receive payments through paypal at this time.
So, I sent her a message, we'll see what she says (if anything):bang_head:
Thanks again!

How frustrating... sounds odd!
I hope you can get it!

Almost sounds like it's a problem of the seller, not of you...

It sounds to me like eBay may have blocked that certain item. Have a look through her completed listings to see if she has sold others like it. Or maybe click on her Negatives and Neutrals to see if there is a problem with that item.
Good Luck. Hope you find a way round the purchase.
Update:
Seller finally answered.....wants me to pay using something called PayMate. Whole thing sounds fishy to me; PayMate does sound legit, tho.
So, we'll see! :crossfingers:

PayMate is a new one on me. Can you send a Cheque or a Postal Order?

I just looked it up; Paymate is an Australian version of PayPal, not the same company, but basically the same function. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paymate
Apparently ebay has approved Paymate -

This could have been another reason for the block; if you are not in the same country as the seller.

Kinda sounds like the seller might be having a dispute and their paypal is blocked or something.....good luck!
