Something simple... simple vases, glass milk bottles, or small metal pails filled with simple wild flowers; daisies, Queen Anne's lace, ect. Or how about small terra cotta pots with herbs planted in them...rosemary, mint, oregano, lavender. Think of how great that would smell.

How about tie-dyed table linens or overlays? (OK, it's not centerpieces, but it's what popped into my head when I read 'hippie').

okay I don't think my first post posted so here it is again.

The centerpieces probably should be kepy simple. Here are a few ideas. A large candle surrounded by petal or wild flowers in a circle would be neat. Or you could use a clear bowl filled with water and pettal floating in the water with votives around the bowl. If you are using rectangle or long tables have one big centerpiece with petals of numbes flowers going down the center of the table with votives and petals along the way, perhaps a few vases of wild flowers. I hope this helps!

I am using fake wild flowers in my center pieces. The dollar store was an awsome place to shop. Here is a picture of my center piece.

I like the idea some one said aboutt he milk bottles. Or the tin buckets. I am using these in my wedding for the flower girl to carry and to put the silver wear in on the buffet table.
