I saw it last night on the Style Network. I thought it was pretty interesting.
If you havent seen it, its pretty much a man and woman who just got engaged couldnt afford a wedding so they called wedding altered. Style paid for their wedding but there was a catch. They only had $10,000 for the wedding, they had 2 weeks to plan it and go through with it, and the groom makes all the final decisions. The bride is not allowed to be included in any of the planning, but her mother is there for the groom to make suggestions, but again he has the final say.
The bride on the show last night did not have "traditional" ideas. She didnt want to carry a bouquet, wear anything that resembled a wedding dress, and didnt like anything that had to do with the beach, but wanted to incorperate water. Her groom had a beach/tropical wedding, she had to wear the traditional wedding dress, she hated the food, and she carried a bouquet.
I couldnt relinquish control to Jonathan to plan our wedding. How would you all do in that situation? Would you trust your FH or DH to make all the decisions to your liking?

I've never seen that. It seems interesting though. I could never do that. Justin would have us out in the middle of a pasture somewhere with him cooking after the ceremony. If he planned the wedding it wouldn't be very pretty.

I think that Joel knows me well enough for it not to turn into the kind of train wreck that you described, but I wouldn't trust anyone to plan my wedding or make those decisions for me. Furthermore...I would never be able to do that show, because I wouldn't be able to deal with all those restrictions for my wedding!!! I think that it would be hilarious to watch though!!!

I COULD trust Matthew 100% with all the planning! He picked out my wedding dress unknowingly! He was flipping through a wedding mag and pointed it out to me. I told him I hated it, then I tried it on and loved it. Matthew booked the reception venue, the photographer, he knows what I like to eat, he would have picked roses because he knows what I like. So if in that position I know that I can trust him 100% and almost EVERYTHING would be perfect. He says he woulda picked a different ceremony site though....lol...looking back, I probably would have too!! :bbmrgreen:

Eric could have done it he knows what I like! Red roses are special to us and I have no doubt he would have picked them, the dress was easy and hands down the men would wear cowboy hats and boots with their tuxes and the people in the wedding was a given. We have agreed on everything about this wedding, the only thing is the food at the reception..he is a picky little eater and I think that I have chosen some things he won't eat...but he told me not to worry...he said we probably won't have time to eat there anyway between all the well wishers and activities so he has planned on feeding me after we leave on the way to Gatlinburg!
I trust him, and like my FFIL said..."Relax sweetheart...at the end of the day you will still be married!"

That was MY father's favorite thing to say to me when I was planning the wedding too! I always wanted to deck him when he got that smug look on his face and I knew it was coming!!

I have a feeling that Nicholas would be able to pull off the wedding that Iwould just love. If not better then I would have planned. My mom and him get along great and they both know me so well that there would be no problems. But I loved planning my wedding. And I did not have $10,000 to spend on my wedding. That would be the only plus side realy.

Dear Lord, I can only imagine what a mess that would be. First, Sean wouldn't care so he would just let my mother handle it all. I would have had a totally 80's style gown, big hair, big everything really with lots of glitz and glam and totally over the top. My mom and I have polar opposite tastes. That would have been a disaster.

There is no way I would be able to do that! I would end up with a wedding planned by my FMiL, and I would have NO idea what was anything! It's bad as it is, with everyone wanting a say in everything!:bbeek:

I think that Jonathan would do a great job with some things and not so great with others. I think the venue and food would be great as well as his attire... as far as my attire and my bridesmaids attire... thats another story. I think I would end up in something super sexy (I'm modest) and I wouldnt be comfortable. I think my girls would be wearing something really really low cut and sexy as well (except for his sister... she'd be in a turtleneck). I know the flowers would be pretty but not what I wanted, and the decor would be something out of some wedding nightmare's book. I would be scared of what flavor the cake would be and what it would look like... I think it would taste alright but not be very pretty to look at.
The show was really fun to watch because she wasnt shy about letter her now DH know that she wasnt happy with his choices. It was very interesting.
