We are going to make our own Save The Date cards because we're only going to send out a few to people who live farther away. The wedding is 7-7-07. Is it too early to send them now?

My wedding is in October 2007 and I'm sending mine out after christmas. I guess if you wanted to you could send them out now since your getting married so close to the 4th of July. I'm sending them out 10 months in advance to give everyone pleanty of notice.

I always tell ppl to send out Save The Date Cards about 6 months prior to the wedding. You don't want to send them out too early as ppl will forget and then it kind of defeats the purpose. But you don't want to sent them out too close to the invites either. (FYI - Invites are usually sent out about 6-8 weeks before the wedding)

We originally thought it would be cool to get married on the 4th of July but next year its during the week.

I've heard of Save the Date magnets so people won't forget, they would put it on their fridge. I think that would be neat.

The save the date magnets are getting really popular it seems. You can even make them yourself. I think now would be to early to send them out. Just tell people by word of mouth for now and then I would suggest to send them 6-9 months out.

We would make them. I've already started playing with ideas, its just so fun. And then laminate them and magents.

We used the magnet type, we are gerring married in feb 2007 and sent them out in May/June. I suppose we kind of used them as a way of letting some people know that we were actually getting married too, and we didnt send them to those we see regularly just the family that live further away and we dont really keep regular contact with. xxx

We got postcards; I did them in Photoshop and sent them over to VistaPrint.

Went off without a hitch.

Uniquity Invitations (http://www.uniqutyinvitations.com) gives away a free STD template. If you haven't seen their work, you would really love it. They give listeners of WeddingStyle a free thank you card template with each purchase.

We sent out post card save the dates. We bought bright green (our wedding color) cardstock at Staples, then we came home and designed them on our computer. Then we printed them, cut them into the post card size we wanted and mailed them out. The postage was cheap, the ink was cheap and the paper was cheap. It was enought to let people know and it didn't cost a bundle.

I don't think it's too early to send them out. We sent ours out about 11 months before our wedding.

I bought some card stock paper at Hobby Lobby and made some "model" ones. I also tried putting white paper over a decorative scrapbook paper too. I found one with red roses all over it and it looked pretty cool.

i LIKE THE IDEA OF SENDING THEM NOW, GIVES PEOPLE EARLY NOTICE OF UR WEDDING, ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE OUT OF TOWN GUESTS AND ALSO DIDNT HAVE A ENGAGEMENT PARTY!

We're getting married 09-15-07 and I think I'm going to get all the save the dtae stuff done before Christmas. Just so I don't have to be in panick attack after Christmas to get everything done.
I too am goign to make them. A trip to Michaels Craft Store (Heaven to me!) and I'm sure there will be something that strikes my mind.

We sent out our Save The Dates about a week ago, a little over a year to go but that's ok. I found some really nice ones thru David's Bridal that were fairly inexpensive. We made our own postcard type insert to send along with the cards that mentioned our website on the knot as well as a request for family members to book rooms at the wedding venue ASAP. There are not a lot of rooms available and there are only a few with 2 double beds, we wanted family to get first choice.
