I'm curious to see how this one goes! Where I live everyone has a wedding planner. Please explain your choice!

Our budget didnt really accomodate a wedding coordinator for the day of. We're kinda getting one with the sites we chose but not really so I didnt choose that option. I wanted to do everything myself... I couldnt dream of having a wedding planner/coordinator plan my wedding for me... it wouldnt feel personal.

Well I have a wedding Coordinator she is Eric's Aunt and has done TONS of weddings she knows exactly what I want and will make sure I get it LOL... She is responsible for making sure that everyone knows what they are doing at the rehearsal and where to stand when to walk etc...the day of the wedding she said she would make sure everyone is where they need to be doing what they need to do!
As for a wedding planner that's me!

No wedding coordinator here. I like to do all the nit picky things myself. I don't want a stranger's help. My budget wouldn't allow it either.

I had a coordinator at the reception venue. She is their general events planner but handled everything from gettin gus booked to tying the ribbons on the napkins to calling and seeing if I was still sane. Emily was a Godsend. I couldn't have done it without her. For the wedding I handled everything myself but my florist and the church secretary did a lot of extra running around and work for me on my wedding day. I don't know what I would have done without them. I was busy with a million and one things and my mom was in no shape to do anything.

I am doing all the planning myself. (with my mom's help of course). No budget for hiring one! I liked doing it though.

I've said on many occasions that I highly recommend at least hiring a director/coordinator for the rehearsal and day of stuff. I don't really see a need for the average bride to have a full service planner/coordinator. Unless you are just clueless and/or really busy ... JMO

I haven't actually hired one, but I was thinking of hiring one for the day... If I can find one available at this late date... only 16 days til the wedding, so I don't know if I'll be able to find one. Is this a good idea, do you think? Could use some advice.

Nope, we didn't hire one. We had lots of friends willing to help, so we took them up on it.

We did it ourselves, but the florist helped out a lot because she just happened to go to the church (and was really close with the pastor) we were getting married in and knew the in's and out's of the church. It was really helpful!
