I just heard on the news that a huge snow storm is heading for the East Coast:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a.5WYrosdjEs&pos=9
I don't know if anyone is going to be in that area but I know we have a few ladies from the East Coast! Good luck with your travels and be careful!! I hope you can get all your shopping done and not have to go out in that. Stay inside and bundle up if you can! :yesnod:

I just heard from my mom that my brother is on his way home from college right now. He is stuck in his car on the interstate in virginia and it sounds like he'll be there for at least 24 hours.
Good luck to everyone out there and avoid roads if you can! Thanksfully, my part of PA is suppose to get little to no snow.

The cars are covered, the jeep is at the end of the driveway facing out, We just went to Costco and the grocery store so we won't starve LOL. They are calling for 18 inches to 2 feet. Duck is supposed to come home tomorrow, but his school alreadys has a foot of snow. (he is up in the mountains of VA, West Virginia) RC has the generator primed and ready.

Take pictures everyone and share!!!!! I love snow storms!!!!

This is insane. One minute it wasn't snowing, then it started, now everything is covered. Thankfully my brother came home between the started and covered parts. His friend John is planning on coming over to get stuck with us so I'm hoping he gets here ASAP.
Coming from L.A...well...this should be interesting...;) They said D.C. is the "bulls eye" of the storm...:boggle:

Good luck to everyone who's in the path of the storm! Hope everyone stays safe! NH is actually on the northern part of it and it's only expected to brush us, so they're only calling for maybe a few inches for us. I'm so glad because I don't want another storm this soon.

Rc dug out the drive way and we hopped in the Jeep to go over to the farm and check on Mom and Dad. We got stuck! Their drive way is drifted over and must be 30 inches deep. Thank goodness their neighbor was trying to clear his parents drive way (his mom just got back from the hospital, broken hip) so Al pulled us out and followed us back to the main road. I called Mom and they have provisions to last about a week or more so they are ok.

We are expected to get this storm around Tuesday - saying close to 10cms. We're suppose to get a dusking in the meantime. Then we should be good until Christmas Day when they are calling for flurries and then Boxing Day 10+cms.
As long as it doesnt storm Christmas Eve day I'm good - we're leaving to go back to our hometown that day.

Schools was closed today because of the snow.FH thinks there won't be any school tomorrow either.I hope there is.I still have so much to do before christmas. They only had school today, tomorrow& wednesday and then they were out for x-mas break. But if they don't go to school that means I'll have to send FH to the mall alone and then I'll be up half the night on x-mas eve getting everything ready.
So please let there be school!!!!!Atleast on wednesday.

is it really still that bad?? lol i was so annoyed b/c i called the APA in DC n they were closed :realmad: n i've been putting off making that call for like a month!!
we ended up barely getting a dusting... maybe like 3 or 4 inches but it was powder so i just opened my car door n slammed it and voila.. instant snow-free car!

Only the main roads are clear. The side streets are still pretty bad. Some of the schools here have kids that come from a rural area. The sun was shining yesterday. So some of it melted(not much),but then it got real cold last night. So it just ice over.Fh said the drive to work this morning was pretty bad.
Yesterday afternoon they announced that school was closed today.I was mad.The kids were happy.
Do you mean the associated pool league.I think thats what APA stands for.

There is so much snow. I can't get over it. I'm actually glad I don't drive around here - I don't want it to be my responsibility if something happens. :boggle: I think we're gonna try to get out of the house today - we've been in since Friday night and I think we're going a little stir crazy...
Oh, and the heat on the downstairs level broke so we've got two different weather patterns in the house - downstairs is the Arctic, upstairs is the Bahamas.

The roads here are still bad, think Ice rink. 301 is clear one lane in each direction becasue it is a major snow route. You would think that route 3 would be clear but it isn't. RC took the jeep to work today and he said that the base is still snowed in, the main gate hasn't even been cleared. Secondary roads are even worse.

It was so fun to see everyone's pictures of the snow! We were in Mexico all last week and were supposed to fly home on Sunday but all the flights to the east coast were canceled or delayed. After 8 hours of waiting we ended up getting a flight into Philadelphia - but the airport was pretty much shut down so we couldn't get the rest of the way home. We ended up just canceling the second leg of our flight since we didn't know when we'd actually be able to leave and renting a car and driving home - In case anyone is curious it takes about 8 hours to drive from Philly to Portland Maine - and you get some cool views of NYC along the way! LOL!
Of course we got to Maine and there is NO snow at all here!

It's supposed to hit us on Saturday, but right now it's calling for ice pellets/rain instead of snow.

That storm that hit the upper midwest dumped 13.2 inches of snow in my backyard.
Needless to say I had my hands full measuring snow all weekend, since I signed up to become a trained weather spotter.
And I just put a new belt on the snow blower this winter, and had to replace it cause it took a beating from this storm. Go figure.
