Our cake was yellow cake batter. It is moister and has more flavor that white cake in my opinion. It was filled with lemon curd and fresh sliced strawberries. It was to die for. I still have two slices in my freezer.

2nd Tier: White Cake with buttercream filling
3rd tier: Chocolate cake with chocolate filling
4th tier: Red Velvet and white marble with buttercream filling
5th tier: Red Velvet and chocolate with chocolate filling
6th tier: Undecided... we're going to figure out which one is our favorite and make the decision that way...

Ours was simple white. We both love white cake. I prefer chocolate but Jerry is not fond of it. Oh to be not fond of chocolate, I would die to be that way. haha

I dont think the tiers will be huge... We're doing 6 to feed over 200 and we're saving the 6th tier so its really 5. We want to have all of our favorite flavors. My parents cake was one of those fountain cakes and there were 8 flavors!!

One tier will be marble cake with custard filling and 2 tiers will be white cake with strawberry filling. The "Family Cake" for us and the kids will be chocolate cake with chocolate filling.

We didn't really have a 'wedding cake' but, I've always like the basic yellow cake with buttercream icing. Though Nikki's with strawberry mousse filling sounds yummy too! I have a baker friend that makes an awesome chocolate pudding cake with chocolate mouse filling :drool:

Three tier cake with the bottom layer of chocolate, the middle white and the top chocolate again....very simple!

I voted other...we are having miniature pumpkin pies. We were going to have a white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting....but I couldn't find a cake design that I truly loved.

We're having different flavors on different teirs. Som teirs have chocolate with chocolate filling and others have vanilla with raspberry filling.

We just got back from seeing our cake lady, and she is going to do our new cake for us. We will be having different flavors for the different tiers.

1st Tier: Vanilla
Strawberry filling
2nd Tier: Marble
Banana cream filling
3rd Tier: Vanilla

We wanted marble but our baker said she didn't like marble because it doesnt' hold well.. (who knows.. ) So the first layer was white second was chocolate and the third was white again. Very basic... no fancy fillings...

Pretty basic for us as well.

Tier 1:Chocolate, no filling
Tier 2: Vanilla, no filling
Tier 3: Pineapple, again no filling.

These cakes all sound gorgeous - wish i could taste!!
In Austria we are having a chocolate cake made by 'sacher' I have asked for it to be just be a simple cake and i will prob add some decoration myself to match everything else (I love Sacher torte choclate cake) For our reception over here then we are having 6tiers of small cakes these will be made out of a fruit mix (that stuff that none of you like) but its tradtional and its what we like, and it means i can get it all made weeks before the wedding. xxx
