I'm assuming very few will read this, but here goes: I've been around for years and years... I sometimes say that I'm the oldest nite club DJ on earth. Don't ask! I spend lots of time on chat boards, and give LOTS of information. I found this site from a chat site for vendors on another wedding forum. As a result, I am now a "paid vendor" here.
My thinking is that by giving good accurate information to brides, I'm promoting professionals and raising the bar for those who really want to make this profession one to be proud of. I know there's lots of pros here, so I'm not threatened by others who provide services... there should be plenty of customers for us all.
