View Full Version : Destination Wedding -- Any location Suggestions??
Hello! My name is Amy and I recently got engaged. I am trying to plan a destination wedding because my fiance and my family's are spread all over the United States. Any suggestions on location?? Looking for the trip to be as affordable for our guests as possible and we would also like to get married in the winter of 2006. I am open to suggestions in the Continental US or outside. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
THANK YOU and good luck to everyone else in their planning!!

Check out the Sandals resorts that are located in the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Antigua. They do a lot of destinations weddings. I think the wedding itself is free if you also honeymoon there. Also, several of our friends got married in Key West at the Wyndham Casa Marina. They all said that it was very nice.
Thanks Lacey! Do you or does anybody else out there know of anything else that is all inclusive wedding/honeymoon? I tried a search online but haven't had much luck. The Sandals resorts looked amazing but I have one problem - they are couples only and there are a few children that would be there at the wedding possibly.
Again - I can't say thank you enough!!

Sandals has a family resort on the islands as well and since you are ooking at a winter wedding, you will save some money as that is their off peak season

Sandals has a family resort called Beaches. I'm sure they run about the same in price and yours isn't the first wedding they will have done. My maid of honor eloped to Disney World in Florida. It was beautiful and everyone had a good time. You might want to check that out as well.

we too are doing the wedding destination thing. We started our search by talking to a travel agent that we know and trust. She told us that before we even meet with her to do the following:
1. Come up with 3-4 places we would like to go.
2. Figure out your budget (per person)
3. Decide when you would like to go.
4. How many people would be willing to come with you as group rates are offered with groups of at least 10-12; however the catch is that they all have to book with your travel agent and garentee their spot with a deposit before a group rate will be guaranteed.
Hope this helps.

Are you set on a warm weather location? You could also choose the least expensive state where your family or friends reside, for taxes or otherwise, most people wouldn't notice one way or the other. I have family/friends all over the US & Canada, and locations would definitely cost differently in each place!
