My wedding is set for 5/7/11 (like the prime numbers). We want to get married on the beach, and our attendance is not that large. My girlfriend gave me an idea from her wedding- rent a house for a week have the wedding beach there and then you have the house for the honeymoon. Only she didn't have any type of reception and I'm all about the first dance. Any ideas on how to go about getting a reception site that is still within my budget? I'm trying to do alot of stuff myself and with the help of my girlfriends. Also- just cause I'm having a beach wedding doesn't mean I have to have a beach theme right? We were thinking about penguins or pitbulls... I don't know. I just want to have an amazing wedding- within reason, and I want Ricky to have a good day too. Any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm all ears

Hi ebbunny. One idea I've heard is that some people rent a beach house and then have a reception in either the backyard or inside the house itself. Since it's your wedding, you can do anything you want :) You don't have to do everything beachy....

Hi! I am not sure many ideas on cutting costs, but as far as a reception, here is a link to some wedding venues there:

Plus, I think May is considered off season in some areas. You could probably get some good rates, especially on local homes to rent!
Good luck!

Maybe check OneWed's vendor list to see if you can find something there -
