LOL Nicole that's funny!!!!

I was going to be Jessica Ruth, but my parents found Justina in the Catholic Bible Name Dictionary and assumed (yes assumed) it was a Biblical name. Needless to say, it's not a Biblical name

I was supposed to be either John Richard or Patrick Joseph because my mom didn't believe the ultrasound saying she was having girls. My twin's name was Mary Katherine, so I guess if I had come out second that would have been me!

If I was a boy, I would have been Edward (not sure of the middle name) and it was between Jeanne Elizabeth and Katherine Elizabeth.

I'm not sure what other names were picked out for me, but I do know that my brother Jeffrey was going to be a Jenna.

My mom thought that I was a boy, i too had my hand in the wrong place during the ultrasound. So my name would have been Joshua, however I came out a girl and was named Megan Laura.

My Nana (dad's mom) HATED the name Amanda...But my mother HATED my Nana and she went against Nana out of spite...

Nana and dad loved me though...too bad my mom didn't :( LOL

Im emarassed to say it....but Im KINDA named after her! Im not really...My dad liked her and her name.

Both parents liked Dawn for a middle name. Mom liked Stephanie and dad liked Krystal. Im not sure how they decided but it ended up being Krystal.

Oh and people call me Krystal Gayle ALL the time!

I think I would have been named Joshua. What's interesting is that my brother was born less than a year after me, but they didn't go with Joshua. And what's also interesting is that my dad always liked the name Heather, but when they had my sister (three years before me), it was extremely popular. It was still popular when they had me.

The same thing is happening to me... I have always loved the names Isabella and Ethan, and now they're both really high on the popularity lists, and I'm not sure if I want to use them when we have a baby.

My mom didn't pick out a boys name. She had her mind made up since she was a little girl that she would have 4 kids. Girl, boy, girl, boy. It happened that way.

Only thing about my name is that my aunt was pregnant at the same time as my mom and they were fighting over my name as it was a name my grandfather had wanted if he had any girls. He had 5 boys instead.

So I am Janalynn and my cousin who "lost" the race is Brandilyn.

My mom had her heart set on a Kris/Chris.. so I was either going to be Kristen or Christopher. To this day she says if she were to have a boy she'd name him Christian though, because now she likes it more than Christopher, but that's moot.

At one point she wanted Katrina for me but my dad didn't like it. They were both happy with Kristen.

In my dad's side of the family everyone's initials are -EL ... Grandpa John Edward L. grandma Helen Elizabeth L. my dad is Thomas Edward L. and my brother is Ryan Edward L. So, my dad wanted Elizabeth for my middle name but my mom didn't and I got Rebecca. I always kind of wished my dad had pushed harder... but my first daughter, if I have one, will have the middle name of Elizabeth.

Funny story.. my grandma is a very devout Christian, and she had decided to name my dad Moses Joseph. Needless to say, my grandpa vetoed that pretty quickly...

My mom wanted to name me Alexandra, but my grandma had a dream about me the night before I was born and in the dream I was Sonya. My dad felt that the dream probably meant something so I got that name.

My mom says that no matter when she had a daughter, she was going to be Haley. She had always loved that name. I've heard though that if for some reason she needed a backup, I might have been Natalie. My maiden name was Woods though and she didn't like the bad omen of me being Natalie Woods after what happened to Natalie Wood.

My mom had no say in naming my brother. She woke up from a nap and my dad had signed the birth certificate. He coached little league at the time and loved one of the boys on the team named Christopher, and that's how he named my brother! They had never discussed that name and when my mom found out she was not happy!

I was going to be called Lesley Ann. But my Brother kicked up a stink about it. He pointed out that Mum and Dad had the same initials. So he wanted me to have the same initial as him. His name is Mel so i was named Michelle after the Beatles song.

It was years later that they realised my middle name (Ann) was spelt wrong. I was named after Dads Mum and hers was Annie.

When i changed my Surname by Deed Poll to DH's a couple of years ago. I was going to add Frederica as a middle name in memory of Dad. But DH said i was named Michelle Ann for a reason and not to meddle with it.

I sometimes look back and wish i had added it.

If i was a boy my name would have been Jason....
........but my mom didn't realize she was having twins until we were born ;) so my mom liked the name Stacy Jean so that's my sisters name (also my grandma, her moms, name is Jean and she made sure lots of her grandchildren had her name lol) and my name Daniele Lynn. My aunt basically named me because if her son was a girl (born a month before us) that would have been his name and Lynn because it was my Aunt Linda lol. Pretty good for coming up with that on the spot... oh and I only have one L because I guess it was form general hospital lol

sorry for the novel

That's exactly what we're trying to avoid! That's why we'll be going with Paisley AnneMarie instead of Paisley Marie. :lafhard:

My mom always had her heart set on Megan, but she had several miscarriages before she was actually able to use the name. By the time I finally rolled around her cousin had named her baby girl Megan and my mom didn't want to copycat.

I was going to be Georgeanne Doralane, but my grandma said I'd have to be a Rhodes scholar to be able to spell it! Allegedly, my dad walked into the hospital room drunk and said, "Let's call her Breckan!" My middle name is still Doralane, named after both of my grandmas, Doris and Elaine.

I was going to be Helen Erika after my two great grandmothers. OH Lordy - they were going to call me Nellie for short. GAG!

Thankfully once I was born they realized I just wasn't a Helen, but it took them a few days to come up with Sarah - they called me Banana Head in the meantime.

I don't know what they were going to call me if I was a boy. But they were torn between the names Jennifer, Danielle & Stephanie for girl names. My cousin was born 5 days before me and my aunt & uncle named her Jennifer. When I was born my dad said I looked like a Danielle. I'm glad I didn't get named Jennifer. I had about 10 Jenny's in my class and only one "Danyel". :) Stephanie would have been ok too.

I was supposed to be Tori Marie. My biological father picked out the name.
But, he didn't show up at the hospital when I was born. Too busy cheating on my mom :(. So my mom named me Tara Lynn. I like it more than Tori Marie. Although almost every Tara I've ever met is a Tara Lynn. I even work with a girl that has the same first and middle name as me. lol

My dad (step, but raised me as his own) always spelled my name Terra Lynn, even though he knew it was Tara. He just liked it better. Haha.

When I was born as the first grandchild, my Grandpa decided that my name should be Zebelina. Thankfully my Mom and Dad didn't go for it, but I did grow up being "Zeb" to Grandpa. Of course he never called any the people he loved by their real names - some of the better nicks were - "Flossy" for my Aunt Susan and "Fleet-foot" for my middle niece Mikayla.

I am Michelle, after the Beatles song. It's kind of a dated name, but it's nice enough. I prefer more traditional/old fashioned names. But I guess before Michelle my mom liked Stephanie and Kimberly, which I think are even more dated and 80's (nothing against them, just not my style).

All of my sisters and I have family names as middle names, which I think is a really nice tradition.

I would have been Ross or Russell if I were a boy. =/
