Me; I know what it is because of all the hype about it, but I have not read the books or seen any of the movies and doubt I ever will.

I have no interest in it at all. I've read a blurb from one of the books because I was in a class about Native American representation in childrens (childrens including young adult) books. The writing alone was terrible, imo. I couldn't care less about any of it, and I wish it wasn't all over the media! Just go away! :)

Guilty!
I got majorly addicted to the books and I watch the movies to see how they develop the books. I thought the first movie was really bad, but I still want to see the second one!
I love the story behind Twilight and I'm a sucker for anything related to it now!
I haven't watched Twilight and don't intend to. My sis is pretty insistent that I should watch it, but I'm not really feelin' it. I voted "not my thing".

I voted not my thing - I mean, I haven't read the books or seen the films, but I'm just not 13 anymore. I went through the crazed fanatic teen idol phase and I've grown out of it... They've been doing a Twilight update on the news here like every day - these girls came from far and wide to camp out on the sidewalks of Westwood (where they had the premier last night) - they'd been camping there since THURSDAY. That's four nights living like a homeless person to catch a glimpse of an actor. To each their own, of course, but I don't get it.

Agreed! Don't get me wrong, I was hooked on the books and all, but there is no way I'd camp out to see any celeb period.
I'm not into all the Twilight hype, in fact, I think it cheapens the experience I had with the books. Still, I'll see the movie when it comes out!

I saw the movie and thought it was okay, and will probably see the second at some point (on dvd). But 2 of my girlfriends have read the books and have LOOOOVED them.

Obsessed!! It is the 13 year old girl inside of me! I read all the books and loved them. I saw Twilight and thought it was okay - it could have been way better. I am excited to see New Moon though because it looks promising! No way I would stand in line to see the midnight showing though.. I will catch it on Monday probably. A friend and I went to Forks, WA. heheh - but honestly spent like 2 hours doing Twilight related things but had a blast.

I just watched the movie for the 1st time 2 weeks ago and loved it...I had no desire really to watch it and was bored one day and bored a movie from my friend because nothing else was on tv. I then borrowed all 4 books from another friend and read all 4 books from Sun to Wed. Now each book with the exception of the 4th book they were 700 pages each and the 4th 800 pages. I love to read and sadly have the time where I can read alot. I have also since then watched the movie a few other times and will probably go see new moon either this weekend or early next week. I really never thought I'd be addicated to it but its not the vampire or the guys in it...its the story in the books and the author did a really good job of pulling me in and keeping my attention to read the books and feel like I was part of the story.

Love both the books and movie! The first book was soo much better than the movie. I just made FH watch the first movie last weekend. He gave it a 5 out of 10. And he's taking me to see the second one in theaters.
He doesn't want to, but because of a little incident, he's got some things to make up to me. :yesnod:

I like both the books and the one movie. I've always enjoyed young adult books. Ever since "growing up" I haven't been able to find adult books that I love as much as I did when I was a kid. The movie was kind of weird, but I still liked it. I think the second one will be better. I wanted to go see the midnight showing, but DH works early the next morning, so he won't want to go to a movie that late. So I'm hoping to convince him to go on Friday night. I definitely want to see it in the theater.

Im crazy about it all! books and movies! Great story. i normally dont like vamp stuff but since it had love in it, i went nuts! im making DH take me opening night to c new moon!
The only thing that upsets me a lil being native american mixed myself is that taylor lautner is not native. They coulda used eddie spears, hes hot and true blood!

I tried reading the first book and couldn't get into it. It's just not really my thing. I haven't seen the movie.

I just watched Twilight a few weeks ago..just to see what all the hype was about. I was so disappointed. Firstly, because I thought the acting was HORRIBLE! I really do think it is a great love story, but the actors/actresses ruined it..there was no chemistry or anything. Secondly, sorry but the guy that played Edward Cullen was NOT hot to me so the whole thing with him being the sought after guy in school was a little ridiculous to me.
Buuut, long i know lol, I do think the second movie looks a bit better. So I might give it second chance. Never read the books though. I may try those since I typically enjoy "fantasy" characters (vampires, superheroes, centaurs and such)

Hi there...
Step aside ladies, Mrs. Edward Cullen here! I even told my husband I would divorce him should I get a shot with him...
I am obsessed with the books...Not in love with the movie though probably because I'm not staring as Bella and kinda resentful...LOL
I am SUCH a kid!

I said other because I am a closet Twilight fan of the books and I'm not really a fan of the movies but I did see the first one and plan to see the new one simply because they remind me of the books. I don't think that qualifies me as a movie fan sooo that's pretty much why I picked other.
Either way, as an adult, I'm a bit ashamed of my Twilight book love so if this is ever mentioned outside of this board, I'll claim that a vampire stole my laptop :)

I voted What?? I have heard of the title and actually a good friend of mine has interview some actors of the movie for her job. But honestly, I have no clue what the books/movies are even about. I saw a brief preview just the other day for the second movie...although that didn't help in telling me anything about it. LOL I think I've learned more just reading this thread

I've read the books and enjoyed the first two. Errors aside the story is pretty good itself even though half of her ideas and story lines are a rip off of older books from Anne Rice and other famous authors. As the story goes on from book to book the storyline just gets ridiculous and is a bore.
The movie itself was good. I liked it but I'm a sucker for romance, I wasnt really planning on seeing New Moon but Taylor Launter is HAWT with his short cut. I think I would pay the 10.50 just to see him walk around all day without a shirt on though. :yesnod:

I didn't think I would like them at first and was totally uninterested. But a lady I worked with at the time, talked me into just giving it a chance, and I must admit, I was impressed. Pretty good stuff.

My husband's best friend is a manager at a movie theatre, and got free tickets to see some god-awful Jason Statham action movie. A friend of mine and I were with them, and we chose to see the only other movie that wasn't a gore-fest - which was Twilight. Never heard of it prior to seeing the movie. It was... kind of lousy - I hated how this gal was such the archetypal damsel in distress, particularly when it seemed that Jacob was a better, less creepy person than Edward. And I'm not saying creepy as in vampire, but creepy as in following her every move and watching her sleep without her realizing. In the real world, those would be warning signs. In the movie (which is watched by a largely teenaged gal audience) it is venerated. Yikes!
I really wasn't impressed.

I agree, actually! When I was reading the books, I thought some of the situations were very adult and sexual. I don't think I'd want my young daughter reading them! For as cheesy as parts of the books are, they are definitely suited for adult audiences. I think the book were far more adult than the first movie showed.

I am going to see New Moon tonight with FH. I told him that I wanted to wear my "I run with werewolves" shirt but I think he would be too embarrassed to be seen with me! haha... Then he admitted that he was Team Jacob! He said he thinks Edward is creepy. Oh boy!! Maybe I will borrow him my t-shirt for the movie! hahaha

I dragged DH to New Moon on Saturday and really liked it. When I asked if he'd want to go to the third and fourth ones, he replied, "Sure, why not?" The next day, he asked which team I was on, haha. I said I was on Team Edward, and he thanked me for being on his team (his full first name is Edward).

I saw it on Friday (yes, I'm an opening day kinda nerd) and I liked it. It was better than I was expecting!
Let me just say, I am Team Edward all the way! Especially in the books. But this movie made me just a tad Team Jacob too! He was smoking hot in it!

I wanted to see it at midnight on the 20th, but it didn't work out. And I agree; Jacob was definitely smoking hot in New Moon. Haha, all the girls in the theater went crazy when he took off his shirt the first time.

I dragged FH to it on Saturday and I LOVED it! I thought it was much better than Twilight. FH even said it was better than he expected, and he didn't expect much. He even laughed at a part, and then said "Oh man. I just laughed at this movie." It was funny.
I am totally Team Edward too, but Jacob was HOT in this movie. Holy smokes! I think I'm a tad on Team Jacob now, but still Edward.
I haven't watched Twilight and don't intend to. My sis is pretty insistent that I should watch it, but I'm not really feelin' it. I voted "not my thing".
Alright, so now ya'll can quote me and point fingers and laugh.
I'm hooked.
I watched Twilight with Matt last night, then we had to go to the theatre to see New Moon. They were both great, but frustrating LOL! I'm a big time Jake fan....
So I read the spoilers.... the reviews from the last 2 books because it was messing with my head this morning.
Now at least I don't HAVE to go get the books - I just WANT to LOL. I'm afraid if I get them I won't put them down to do homework though. Maybe I'll buy them as a graduation gift to myself in April.

Aww, spoilers are bad to read. My SIL read an article about the last one and basically found out how it all ends. But she doesn't know how it came to end the way it did. We got her all 4 books for Christmas, and she loved it. I was jealous 'cause when I was reading them, I had to go buy each one after I finished the one before it. I had to wait a couple weeks for the third one because I accidently bought the paperback on Ebay, and that was when it wasn't going to be out until the next month in paperback. Ohh well. You should get the books, even if you wait til April. :)
I def wanna get the whole set of 4 when I do finally get them. And I'll prolly have them read within a month LOL!

I ended up reading all 4 books in 2 weeks. I have a lot of down time at my job lol. (not as fun as it sounds though). I loved them -- and I didn't think I would. I am certainly team Edward. I LOVE him in the book. Jacob is much better looking in the movies though haha....but he is like 17 lol

Aw shucks seems I'm doomed to fail again LOL!
And you're right Jacklynn.... I was just thinking about adding that in the "Jacob or Edward" thread - that Jake (Taylor Lautner) is only 17

My 14 year old sister is OBSESSED with it all. Read all the books. I've never read the books, don't plan on it. But I have seen the movies that are out so far, and I will watch the others when they come out. They weren't bad. I LOVE vampires (as you can see by my picture of me...with fangs ;)), so I at least had to give the movies a try. Not the best story, because like someone else mentioned, it's sort of a rip off of Anne Rice and others. That's why I won't give the books the time of day. I'm currently reading book 7 of 10 of the Vampire Chronicles by Rice. I'll stick to those books and just the twilight movies :)

Just a recommendation - I've tried Rice and couldn't get into her books. BUT, you might try Laurell K. Hamilton. She's one of 2 authors I cannot put down!
I've seen the first two movies. We actually just saw New Moon the other day. I have enjoyed the movies and would like to read the books as well. However, I'll probably wait until I can find copies at Half Price Books!

Ok so I put the movies in my Netflix queue because people were surprised I hadn't read the books or seen the movies yet. I've read a lot of Anne Rice (I kind of gave up on her after I just couldn't follow along with Pandora's Box though).
I decided this weekend I really wanted to read the books before I saw the movies. So I picked up Twilight and New Moon and couldn't put them down. I finished New moon at about 12:30 in the morning last night.
DH is going to get me Eclipse and Breaking Dawn for my birthday. So I'm excited to read those.
I'm not sure if I'll like the movies yet. I usually don't like movies as much as the books.
I'm actually really excited to be reading again. I kind of gave that up when I started dating DH because there was a little voice in my ear saying "pay attention to meeeeeee" and I was having a hard time concentrating, so it wasn't really any fun. After a while all the books were the same anyway. I put the voice on ignore for the weekend though :).

Yay for another fan of the books! :) I do think the books are better than the movies, but it seems like it's always that way. I like the movies a lot, though, too. I was the same way when I first read the books (last summer), and I had to wait a couple weeks for Eclipse because I accidently ordered a paperback copy on Ebay when the book was first going into paperbacks, and it wasn't released yet.
