My fiancee and I are having a winter wedding. the colors we have chose are black burgandy and silver for details. I guess for a bit of a background on us, he's a musician, mainly metal and pop punk, I'm an artist. We are not going for a gothic look, rather a midevil theme. The only white there will be is my gown and his boutinnere and my bouquet. We are hoping for a candlelight ceremony, if worst comes to worst, white rope lights for the effect.
I really need ideas, if anyone can help me. We dont want it really midevil, just a few traditions, a few ideas. We have known each other since we were 13, dated for many years off and on, lost contact for four years, and have been together again for almost a year. We have done this for 10 years, and he finally asked me to marry him on Halloween. I want this to be perfect, because I truly love him, he is my soulmate, I have never clicked with anyone. Also, we both have children from past relationships, myself a 3 year old girl, she wil be 4 when we marry, he has a 4 year old boy who will be 5. What ideas do you have to join our two families? Thank you for your help in advance!:hearts:

-black candelabras with burgundy candles
-I know they make family necklaces for children. I guess boys could wear them as well as girls.
-black dresses with burgundy sashes &/or flowers

Hello! I too am having a medieval theme...oddly enough our colors are almost the same. We're going for black, burgundy and purple. If you want to borrow any of my ideas, you can check out my journal. The link is in my signature. I've got tons of things going on there! :) If you want anything explained better, just let me know!

Congratulations on your engagement!

My cousin got married and they both had children. When they did the unity candle, they did sand instead and the children had their own sand to pour in the middle to symbolize the joining of the whole family. The minister said some words about it, and it was perfect!

Sounds like a neat wedding! Can't wait to hear more!

I have added tons more pictures and my ideas to my journal, if you want to read it. http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?t=28618 that's the link, (it's also in my signature). You will have to skim through the whole journal because I have ideas all throughout, though my last 4 or so posts are probably more what you're looking for, I do encourage you to look all through it though, because there are a few random things here and there you might like as well! :) Let me know if you want me to explain any of my ideas better to you! I will be glad to help!
