it is no secret I am a smoker. I smoked when I was in high school and quit because my now ex husband didnt like it.

I think I picked it up about 6 months after he and I split and I had had enoug hof Nicholas' excuses for not coming up to see me that I picked up a pack one night and never put it down.

I think it was more becasue I could do this and no one could tell me not to. It was more of me trying to prove I was my own person and I can do what I want to.

I know I sould quit and if I happen to get pregnant I will stop no quetions asked. I wont even drink Mountain Dew when I am pregnant. ( the caffine )

I am absolutely 100% NOT a smoker. I don't go into bars at all. If I go to a place with a smoking section I make sure the hostess puts me as far from it as possible. The great news for me is that both Allegheny County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have bills on the table to ban smoking in all public places. I LOVE New York City because you can go into a bar and not have to come home and shower and wash your hair before going to bed. I hope Pittsburgh takes the same stance soon!

Sorry if you are a smoker, but I don't want to smell like it and I don't want your second hand smoke. I have enough genetic health markers against me without outside help.

I am not a smoker ... I did try it some when I was younger (peer pressure kind of thing) and I picked up the social smoker thing (smoke when I'd drink and/or out with friends that smoke, even used to date a guy that smoked) after I got divorced from my ex.

I can't stand to be around it now, the smell makes me sick and/or gives me a headache. I don't like to go to bars and such anymore because of it. I do have friends that smoke and they will usually not do it around me, but sometimes they just reek of it :buck:

I used to be a smoker...but I quit right after Joel and I get together..so it's been 3 1/2 years. I do occasionally smoke when I drink, but not all that often!!!

Hmm...I am an ex-smoker. Pat doesn't like it and it isn't that good for me, so I don't really smoke....sometimes I wish I still did, but I don't.

I used to smoke too. I quit at least 25 years ago. I never was a big smoker though, never more than 5 cigarettes a day so it was never a big deal for me to quit. :)

I started smoking when I was 13 and officially quit when I was 21, the day before I met Matthew was my last cigarette. I crave them like crazy lately and would kill to have a cigarette and get away with it. I asked Matt what he would do if I picked up the habit...he threatened divorce...lol...not sure if I should test that, but when I'm stressed I could really use a cigarette!! lol

So the answer right now is NO, haven't smoked in two and a half years.

Awww do I have to answer this one?! I already feel like a pariah. Smoking is banned everywhere and it's wierd, I don't mind going without when I am in a non-smoking environment but the moment I walk out the doors it's a mad rush to find my pack.

In the past, I've quit for 8 months, then for a month and once for about 2 weeks. Each time I quit, I get sucked into believing I can have just one.

I really do not like you casual smokers. I would like nothing better than to be able to have a cigarette every now and then.

I have a prescription for Zyban sitting at the pharmacy right now. I just didn't think that trying to quit while trying to plan a wedding was a good idea.

I am a nonsmoker. I smoked in high school and until I was 21. I just decided to quit. It wasn't hard. I think I have a very nonaddictive personality. For awhile I would smoke when I drank or when I got really stressed. Now I can't stand it. I hate the smell and don't like to be around it. It is hard because my mother smokes so I am around it with her. A lot of my friends smoke too.

Yes I am a smoker. I quit both times I was pregnant. But it was easy at that time. The smell alone would make me hurl. But I haved tried numerous times since then to quit to no avail. I know it is one of those things you just have to put your foot down on, but I can't seem to put that foot down. I wish I had never picked up the habit.

I am a smoker. I have smoked since I was 14. I did quit both times I was pregnant and wish I would have just stayed quit. I do try to be as respectful as I can of nonsmokers. I do not smoke in the car with my kids. I do not smoke in the house. I have tried to quit recently, but I don't think I want to as much as I will need to quit. I have quit alot of other bad habits, but this one is the hardest for me.

I never have and never will. I never grew up around it so I hated the smell. As I got older I started to develope bad asthma. Now I can not be around smoke. I will have an attack. I have a hard time at work sometimes cause one of the guys I work with smokes a LOT. So when he comes in from a break I have a hard time breathing. He thinks it's funny! Jerk.

Document that with your employer! You don't have to work with someone whose habit causes you harm. Asthma attacks can be fatal. Demand that his shift be changed or that one of you get moved to a different department or something. Don't put up with it. Especially if he is being an a$$hole and acting like it is funny. If your emplyer refuses to do so and you do get very ill, you can sue them for an unsafe working enviroment.

I can proudly say that I have two children (27 and 24 years old) that have never smoked a cigarette in their whole lives, not even experimentally. :) I, on the other hand, always gave in to peer pressure. :bbconfused:

Right now I am his trainer. Which makes it even worse cause I have to sit right next to him. But he has one week and if he doesn't shape up and learn the job, he's out the door. I had said something to my employer about it once. They just shoved it off. Another one of my parnters smoke and he doesn't bother me as much. But then he isn't as heavy of a smoker. They didn't see it that way. I have kinda been waiting for the big attack to hit while I'm at work. I wouldn't mind owning the county!

You need to take in written documentation from your doctor stating that smoke triggers asthma for you. They can't shove it off then.

I smoked for 15 years, I quit 2 years ago. I tried everything to quit and what finally worked for me was Wellbutrin and the patch at the same time, after a couple weeks I stoped the patch and stayed on wellbutrin, I cheated a couple times in the first month but now I am smoke free for 2 years and am so happy that I no longer cough up the **** that I did everyday.

We are the opposite. Im the smoker and Brian hates it. He cant really say much because he dips.
Quitting is on my list of things to do SOON, but I want to get my weight under control 1st. My BC pill caused me to gain a little, and Im trying to get it off now. If I can get my diet going real good, then I might can quit without gaining any weight.

Unfortunaltly (SP) we are both smokers and have been since I was 14 and FH was 15. Horrible habit tried to quit a few times but always gave in to the least bit of stress in my life and grabbed a cig. I really should quit smoking b/c of health related problems I have had with cigs. The doc's I see are not willling to give me any other help in prescription help other than on my own and that has just not worked.
