Manufacturers should take a hint from all the size 0-6 clothes on the clearance rack cause not enough people are that small anymore.

That sounds familiar. I was down to 152 when I met just. He said that I was too thin. I have prob gained about 15 lbs since we moved in together, and he loves the way I look now. He likes meat on the bones. After seeing the a$$ in his ex, I can see that!!!!

I totally feel for the hippier girls. I have the complete opposite problem. I carry all my weight in my stomic. I haven't got much in the way of hips. My thighs arn't to chubby either. A little more then i would like. But looking at my straight on i have no shape. It's pretty much straight down.
It was pretty neat that my wedding dress actually gave me a shape. My SiL was so surprised when she saw me for the first time. She said to me. "Where'd that come from?! You look amazing!" It's amazing with a little boning can do for a girl. lol

I agree with this statement completely!! I'm a size 16-18 and i'm only 5 foot 3. Being short definitely does not help make shopping easier. I've actually become pretty descent at hemming pants so I can buy them longer and not be stuck looking for the short rack in stores. But I can't complain too much my grandmother was only 4 foot 11 so I could be shorter. hehe.

At 5'3", I am anywhere between a ten and a fourteen below the waist. The more expensive, the smaller the number (this is called "vanity sizing", ladies!).

Above the waist I am a twenty to twenty-four, because every day I hammock "the girls" into a 38G. My problem is there is no RTW that takes into account that my body (shoulders, back, etc) do not need the extra room, only my bust.

I am also short-waisted, and buy lower rise jeans just so they hit my waist, and don't come up to my bra band.

This is actually the reason I began sewing custom clothing. In high school I could always find a pair of jeans, but none of the cute tops all my friends wore were big enough for me.

I'm not skinny. lol....I wear size 20. Sometimes 22 just depends on what brand I'm wearing.

Well, I'm 5'1" and weigh about 160 lbs (ugh...) and I wear a size 9-10 in jeans and my wedding dress is a size 16.

I am 5'8 1/2"(that half counts;)) and wear a 9-10 in almost any pant. but if I buy dresses or shirts I usually have to get a Large (to account for shrinkage in the wash, neckline/sleeve style etc) I think height, bone structure, muscle mass and overall weight count for a lot when it comes to sizes in clothing.
I dont know what I "weigh" right now, I think somewhere btwn 130 & 145, but if I had to guess probably 5-10 lbs more than I did two years ago b/c I dont have as much muscle mass....or is it that muscle weighs more than fat? I cant remember.... anyway I wish "they" would quite making women feel like if we're all not carbon copies of the same paper doll we're the wrong size....sorry just had to explain myself:)

I can relate...my butt and my chest are a much bigger size than my waist and it makes it hard to find clothes that fit (especially at only 5'2" tall). Thank god for a dress with a lace-up back.

I'm usually a 4/6. I'm literally between the two, I'm sort of rectangular and my waist doesn't curve in that much. My bust and hips are a 4, but my waist is a 6. So it depends on the cut. Oh yeah, I'm 5'4".

I'm 27-29 in designer jeans.

I'm a size 6-8ish and 5' 11", but I have no idea what I'm supposed to be "ideally". I don't see many women as tall as me, so I can't really compare...

Well I am a 20-22 depending on the style of clothing.... many people that know me personally and know my weight would never had put me at weighing that much but I carry it well and am 5'6".... i just re-joined weight watchers this week and am pretty excited about going back... so YAy!!!

I'm 5'7 110lb and size 2ish. I agree with something kind of said earlier, it's never nice to be labeled "the skinny girl" or "too skinny" that's just not playing nicely! I eat, I promise I do. I love my figure and I'm happy with myself but I'm never happy with how people talk about my weight because they always talk badly about it.

Also, it's just as hard to find clothes that fit if you're skinny! I can't ever find anything that fits me. =(

I'm currently a size 6. I was up to a size 10/12 a few years ago, and the smallest I've been was a 4 in high school, but I'm pretty comfortable at a 6. I'm 5'1", so the main problem with finding clothes is length.

Its strange I can wear in pants anywhere from a 4-7 depending on the type the low riding pants are 7s. Then sometimes I can wear a small or medium and sometimes I need a large for a top. Im 4 11 and 1/2 and I weigh 112. I did 2 1/2 yrs ago weigh 198 and wear a size 24..

I'm 5'6 1/2 and 120-125 it's always different. I have the hardest time finding clothes, i have 3's and then i have 7's.
The 7's are huge in the waist but fit in the legs. from the waist up i'm happy (even with no boobs) but my butt/thighs sucks its where i carry allllll my weight. you can't tell with clothes on but i'm so not bikini ready. SOMEHOW i wear a size 0 wedding gown (had to be taken in too) which blew me away! especially since most girls get dresses in a larger size than they usually wear.

Wedding dresses run differently with the manufacturer same as pants.

I wore at Davids bridal a 12! but the dress I got (maggie sottero designer) I am a size 8. weird! lol

And i think about sizes, too.. They don't make them like they used to. I think they kind of brought them down to where your sizes look bigger than they really are, if that makes sense.. :irked:

I am about 5'5" and weigh about 115. For jeans, I wear a 5 or 7, but in slacks or dress pants, I have to get a 0 for them to fit right, then they're not long enough! My shirts are usually a medium or large-I have a long torso, so I have to find them long enough, too, which is nearly impossible! My wedding dress is a 4 and it was the ONLY one in the store. It's kind of tight and hard to breathe in it, but, since I'm only wearing it for one day, I can suck it up and deal with the pain of not being able to breathe!

I do agree with what some other people on here have said about people making fun of skinny people. I have had to deal with that my whole life, it's not fun. It always made me feel awful when people say things like "Do you ever eat?", "you are so skinny", "you don't even have a waist", etc. It does hurt, so everybody, please think about what you are going to say before saying it! I'm not referring to anybody specific, I just want eveybody to understand that just because we're skinny, that doesn't mean we don't eat and are anorexic. We're all people and we all have feelings, too.:D

I'm 5'4 and bounce around from 120-130lbs. I'm oddly shaped lol. (34-26-36) Most of my size 5 jeans fit well in the legs, but are tight in the waist. I also have size 7 jeans that are a loose in the leg, but fit perfectly in the waist! I've got big hips, but average thighs. :) I suppose the size has something to do with the fact that the 'waist' of my jeans actually lands on my hips hehe :grinhappy:
When I went to look at dresses at David's Bridal I was a size 6.
At Alfred Angelo I was a size 4 and a 6 depending on the cut. (Size 4 a-line and princess; Size 6 mermaid) So even in the same store your size can jump around just based on the cut! Argh! It is very frustrating!

I am 5"1, 110 usually, give or take 5 pounds and usually wear a 0 or 2. My measurements at my dress fitting were 36-25-37. I am tiny but I have curves too! I love my body!!!!!!!

I'm 5'1" and I was a size 9 for almost all of last year but between my lactose intolerancey, refusal to eat land animals (I only eat fish & eggs, I had a bad experience with a Chili Cheeseburger in December and I haven't been able to stomach most land animals without yaking) and exercising every day I've lost 20 lbs and I'm down to a size 2 now :grinhappy:

I hope the lifestyle change works though because I'm far too short, 20 lbs on me would look like 40 on a taller woman :P
