So last night when I got home there was a message on the answering machine from my Dad. Dad never calls, so I knew something was up. I started worrying it was my Great Uncle (he's 96 and my Grandfather's baby brother) had gotten worse. He suffered a heart attack and is in the hospital. They will be putting him in a nursing home since he should not be on his own right now.

Nope, it was my Mom, Dad asked me if Mom had told me she had fallen at the beginning of the week. Nope, she didn't. She has been diagnosed with osteoporosis. Her butt and lower back has been hurting since the fall. My sister the Nurse had her do some exercises to see if it was her lower back or her hip that was injured. Turns out something is wrong with her hip. Dad wanted to let me know that he is having her taken by ambulance to the hospital this morning. Please keep her in your prayers. Also my Dad, since Mom usually does everything it will be a new experience for him to cook. He is Diabetic so the added stress can't be helping him. I'm going to help out as much as I can.

Well the good news is that nothing is broken or fractured. The bad news mom now needs a walker to get around, and the bruise will show up sooner or later. She didn't turn the light on when she got up during the night and misjudged where she was in relation to the toilet, down she sat and the doctor thinks did some soft tissue injury. Nothing showed up on the x-rays or the CT scan.
