ovulation cramps feel like? I have been having a stapping feeling in my left side for 10 minutes now. I think it may be related to ovulation because I had more dominant follicles on my left ovary.

OMG, Danielle, I HOPE that is what is going on with you!!!

When I had what I thought were ovulation cramps last month it was more like a dull ache on one side (it was my right I think) - but I have no idea if they were really OV cramps or not...the fact that it's more on one side - and it the side that you know has the follicles is promising!

Justina is the one to ask - where is she?! lol!

:confetti:

Danielle, my ovulation cramps are probably 3" below my belly button but on the sides, maybe 3" to either side. They alternate at times and sometimes it's just my whole abdomen.

Does it feel like it's where your ovary is? It's not quite AF cramps because AF cramps are higher and more towards the stomach (for me).... and O cramps are lower, more like almost near my hips.

It's so hard to explain  I hope they're O cramps!!!!

Danielle,

Just wanted to let you know that Clomid gave me EXTREMELY sharp ovulation pains on my first cycle. After the first cycle, they weren't that bad...

on clomid my o pains where just what you described, sharp stabbing pains on one side. Oddly it was always the same side each cycle though.

I get them and have always got them. To me it feels like a slight pull of the muscle. Not a PULLED muscle, but like you would strum on a guitar string type of pull. Only way I can think to describe it. Very different from regular cramps and probably the same place as where Justina described. Not real painful, but can sure feel them.

(I wonder how funny I looked standing up at work and poking on my stomach to see if the place matched Justina's :luxlove:)

Hope this is your month Danielle.

So Ive read they can get mistaken for appendicitis (when they are on the right side). I think for everyone it's different and it depends what the pain is related to. I can't find the link ATM but I found a few places that talked about stage of ovulation and what is specifically causing the pain.

Stupid question... I take it ovulation can happen without the cramps, right? I was in a study a couple years ago that involved being on a fertility monitor. I was ovulating, but I never felt it. I'm not on BC, and I still don't. Are they a side effect of clomid?

Yes. Not all women feel them. Not all women notice. Even if I felt them last time there is no guarantee I will feel them next time.

I don't know if clomid makes them worse.

ETA - that's not a stupid question at all :)

They sound like O pains to me! I have always had a stabbing type cramping on whatever side I was ovulating from that month!!

Yep...I never experienced Oulation pains in my life until the Clomid. Once off the Clomid, no more ovulatory pains anymore!

Not a stupid question at all! Yes, woman can still ovulate without feeling it. I never got ovulation cramps before. What I am having certainly could be a side effect. Unfortunately, I don't think they are due to ovulation. I just got back from my U/S and it''s not looking promising at the moment. I am trying not to read into what the tech found or didn't find until the doctor calls back and gives me my blood results. For all I know it could have been gas.:parp:

I hope your doctor calls back with good news! Hopefully they are O pains. I have never had pains while O'ing but I had them after I O'd this cycle.
