Wow, I hadn't realized how long it had been since I'd been here last. DH and I were going through a bit of a rough patch which made it depressing to come here. But things are looking up, and I had some potentially exciting news to share, so thought I'd stop by!
First off, let me say that DH changed his mind about counseling and is now going with me. I'm not sure whether he's internalizing anything yet, but has at least gotten an outsiders perspective and has started to reflect on some of the things that need to be addressed in our relationship. We're working on things. I can't say that we're in the best place YET, but we are both committed to each other and are both hopeful that things are going to get better. It was never anything detrimental, and I knew that it was only a matter of time before he realized that he needed to work on some things.
ANYWAY... I'm 5 days late!!!! I am still on the clomid, which has me getting a regular period about every 29 days. Today is CD 34. I had typical menstrual cramps for about 3 days starting CD 30, so THOUGHT that I was going to see AF, but she never came. I tested on CD 32 with an expired test (BFN), and CD 33 with a non-expired test (BFN). I bought two more tests this morning because I'm such an impatient person. I think I'll be taking one later this afternoon. I know that FMU is best, but if I don't gulp water today then it should essentially be the same by later this afternoon.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but things feel different this time. I figured out how I'm going to tell DH if (when) I am actually pregnant. I'm going to teach Bailey (our dog) a new trick to put her nose to my belly when I say "where's the baby?" So I can tell Paul I have a new trick, make her do some old stuff (sit, lay down, hi-five) and then do the "where's the baby" one... I think he'll get a kick out of it :)
Needless to say I feel like I (and we) are in a good place right now and I'm glad to be back.

Glad things are getting better with you two!!
I thought about doing ther same dog trick idea, but was too nervous Wrigley would get too distracted and not do it when I needed him to so I'll be excited for you to do it if you get your BFP.
Oh and I got darker tests later in the day than I did with FMU. Good luck!

Haha, well it would figure that when I finally start to get my hopes up that AF would rear her ugly little head!! I actually thought I had a cyst bursting yesterday afternoon because I had incredible cramps, and last night she came. I'm bummed, but not entirely. I mean, every month is a possibility, so we'll just go on to the next one. And now I have time to teach my dog that trick and make sure she perfects it.. I think I'd like to use her to tell all our family members too once we actually are pregnant!!! :-P

Sorry about AF showing up, but now you can perfect the dog trick! I think that would be an amazing way to tell DH you're pregnant!

Haha yes, well.. DH wasn't upset that we had to practice (a lot!) to get that BFP!!!!
So, for those who want details...
DH and I decided to go off of the hormones and let mother nature take her course. I had been maxed out on clomid (150 mg.) and was having some not-so-wonderful side effects from it (you really don't need details). I really didn't think it was going to happen for us without the medications, but I thought that I owed it to DH to give it a shot.
About 3 weeks ago I started feeling nauseous. I was also feeling INCREDIBLY tired all the time, and was taking at least 1 nap (and sometimes 2 naps) a day. I had been lax on taking my iron supplements (I'm anemic), as well as other vitamins and medications, so thought that my symptoms were due to that. So I started taking everything religiously. Two days later I had INCREDIBLE morning sickness that lasted a couple of days. I attributed THAT to taking all the medications again, and maybe some interactions among them.
Later that week, after the 15th person suggested that I might be pregnant, it occured to me that that could be the case. So I stopped on my way home from work and bought a pack of two tests. I could not believe my eyes when I saw two lines, so I waited a half hour and tested again. Sure enough, there it was. The bizzarre part is that I didn't feel excited right away.. I actually felt nervous and scared. But I WAS happy. I decided that to tell DH, I was going to buy a newborn onesie and wrap it up and give it to him. That's exactly what I did. When DH got home from work I had him open it. He looked at it, and then looked at me, and asked "are you serious?" I instantly felt amazingly elated, screamed, laughed, cried, and jumped into his arms. I felt so comforted by his excitement. Ever since then, we've been nothing but giddy!!!! :bbmrgreen:
So I had worked a little bit with Bailey (our 2 year old lab) to do the trick where I would have her sit, as her "where's the baby?" and have her put her paw on my belly. Since my dad is living with us right now (I'm not sure if I posted about that), we told him that night. Bailey could sense my excitement and got a little restless with the trick, but my dad caught on. He was so excited for us. Then yesterday, for mother's day, we had my mom, in-laws and grandparents over, and gave my mom and MIL onesies that say "my grandma and grandpa love me." Everyone was so excited for us. I feel so loved right now :)
So bloodwork from last week said that we're about 8 weeks along. HOWEVER, I asked what my HCG levels were, and they were quite high - 114,000. We go for our first doctor's appt. this Weds, so I think we'll get a better idea then. I happen to think I'm a little farther along than that, but who knows.
So as of right now, my morning sickness and fatigue are pretty much gone. They were only really intense for about 10 days. If I'm done with the MS, I'm going to consider myself very lucky to have only had to endure 10 days of it! The only real symptom I have right now is that I'm peeing ALLLLLL THE TIME!!! It's rediculous...
So I think we're going to have ourselves a Christmas baby, but I can't wait to get an actual due date :) We're going to find out the sex as soon as we can, though neither of our parents want to know until the baby is born, so we may just keep that information to ourselves until then.
So, that's the story so far. I'll update after our appt. Wednesday.
Thanks again everyone for all the warm wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
