For the last week and a half, I have been in bed with tonsilits, pharangytis and otitis media. Basically, my throat swelled up to the point I couldn't function, and I had a massive ear ache with it.
During this time, I couldn't eat at all. Since last Wednesday this is what I have consumed: Scrambled eggs, 2 biscuits, and mashed potatoes. I survived mostly on water and a few soup broths. Fh would eat the stuff in the soup and I had the juice.
Now I am finally starting to feel better, I notice that I have lost about 10 pounds or so, maybe a bit more. Not intentional by any means.
When I was sick, all I wanted was the ABILITY to eat. Now that I am on the mend, I don't want to eat at all, knowing how quickly I will gain that weight back.
I know, I know.... Not a great way to lose weight. It's not that I want to continue not eating, I just want to find a way to balance a little and maybe use this time as a sort of jump start to getting healthier.
I forced myself to have the mashed potatoes tonight, even though I am not hungry at all, so I am trying to return to the eating world. It's just really tough when you aren't hungry and you see the results (even if it was a bad way to do it)
The hardest part for me is that I can't eat any fruit except for strawberries as I am allergic to them, and the only veggies I can tolerate are the ones that aren't very good for you. I can eat the heck out of corn and green beans, and potatoes, but I can't stand any other veggie.
So how do you guys balance?
