This may be a stupid question, but can you wash a shower curtain in a washing machine? Ours is starting to look gross, despite spraying the shower down after getting out... especially down at the bottom. :bbconfused:

We had a shower curtain that was thinner and we didn't have a liner. It got really orange looking and gross so we washed it in the washing machine. I am not sure if you should dry it but you might hang it up to dry (I am pretty sure we dried ours). Does it have a tag on it or anything?

Maybe this will help. Some of the people said that the washing machine ate it - but I think it depends on the type of curtain you have.

I have washed 2 shower curtains before, both of different material and it worked just fine! The only problem was one of them shrank when I dired it in the drier, but the other one was a different material and it was fine. I think washing is fine, but you should problably air dry it, just to be safe!

I've washed our shower curtains before. I wouldn't dry it because it tends to shrink up a bit. I usually try and get it just damp and then hang it back up wet so the weight of the water stretches the curtain back to its original length.

I wash my shower curtains - and the liner sometimes too - just hang it back up on the shower rod to dry.

ETA - DUH - I just noticed everyone else said the same thing. :) Maybe I should read the WHOLE thread before posting. Haha!

Our liner is gross at the bottom, too. Orange and yucky! I will be throwing it in the washing machine sometime this week! Great question!
