I found these amazing wedding invitations. Is it ok to send them 12 months in advance?

I think most people would agree that is quite early. If you want them that badly you could buy them and hold onto them until the date gets closer.

Welcome to One Wed! You shoud introduce yourself in the New Members Forum!

Although I know the feeling of being excited and wanting to do a lot of the planning, that is a bit early.

Look at it this way... If you were to send them out and then something happened, say 6 months down the road, and the venue got shut down, family incident, ect... then you will have to re-send, or call everyone you invited and inform them of the changes.

Also, many people will not remember things that far in advanced. (Some do good to remember things that they were told about 1 month in advance!) Your beautiful invitations will get trashed and all that work could be wasted.

Perhaps, you can just begin verbally telling those you plan to invite or make a website! That will give you somewhere to pour out all the excitement. (One Wed is really doing great with me for that reason!) Then, when it gets down closer, you can send out the invites. Who knows? You may even have different friends by then, you know?

I wish all the best for you!:yesnod:

Thank you! I will wait then. After some thinking 12 months seems a bit early.

Thanks again!

STDs are sent out at 6 months prior to the wedding date, and your invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks prior.

The RSVP date should be at least 2 weeks before your wedding date. Most caterers need their final head count 72 hours before the wedding, and this will give you enough time to check with any non-RSVPers (don't assume they are or aren't coming if you haven't heard from them). If your caterer needs the head count earlier, then you can adjust the RSVP date accordingly.
