*deep breath* I'm getting nervous.
Okay tomorrow will be my last day of BC....Every month I have an automated prescription reminder that calls my cell and when it called I was like 'nope' no refill for me buddy! lol
We wanna shoot to get preg in Jan but if it happens before then or after thats ok. (I'm a kinda ocd planner.) My friend at work had a valid point...about babies being born in the summer wont have to worry bout getting sick as much and keeping them warm. We are really doing this. I may need help, who knows but just to know that I wont be on bc is getting me very excited. Wish us luck!! :crossfingers:

You can feel pains during ovulation, it often happens on the side the egg is coming from. Not all women experience it...but that might be what it is.

Some prenatals do cause nausea in some women. I have a sensitive stomach so I went with an organic prenatal and I can take it on an empty stomach and no worries of nausea.

ok is anyone else thats TTC like really friggin tired? I am so wore out. Getting off caffeine and having a horrible AF will whip ur butt! It is so hard to eat right. Like at restaraunts and peoples houses. Majority of the time people dont have 'possible pregnant' friendly food. Like my mom and MIL are like 'oh u can eat lunch meat!' 'It's ok to have a cup of coffee it didnt hurt u.' 'Sure have a glass of wine.' And I'm like no way Jose! My baby will be conceived into a toxin free environment as much as possible!

To a point, i understand what you are going through. Being already pregnant I have most of the foods cut out of my diet (although I do still sneak some caffeine here and there.) My mom didn't understand why at my shower with my last pregnancy i didn't want a deli tray for the food. I'd like foods I could eat.
Things have changed so much since our parents have been pregnant till now. They don't understand why they say not to eat certain things when they ate it all and "you turned out fine." All I can suggest is do you best. You eat what is best for your soon to be baby and others will just have to deal with it. When it comes to babies and pregnancy, everyone seems to have an opinion and they all think their opinions are the right ones. All you can do is go with what you want for your pregnancy and raising your child.

sorry Af is so bad. Its tough cutting out caffeine, pop in particular. I did a few years ago (not for ttc). It is very hard eating healthy in general not even for ttc or pregnant reasons so I can only imagine..

while i understand why you cut so much out.... i would also say that if you were drinking caffeine a lot n cut it cold turkey... i would allow yourself a small cup here n there... esp. if ur feeling rotten b/c if ur body's going thru withdrawal from caffeine, i would think that's not optimal for ttcing either...
i'm not a doctor tho but i'm sure most docs would tell u the same thing since in theory caffeine in small amounts is acceptable during pregnancy...

besides lunch meat, caffeine n alcohol what else have u cut out? i've never heard any of my preggo friends saying they had trouble finding food to eat while out so I'm curious now...

I've been taking New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal. I've been really happy with it so far. I also read good reviews about Rainbow Light Prenatals. But after reading reviews on both, I decided New Chapter was probably the best choice for me. The cheapest place I could find New Chapter was on Amazon.com.

I used to take Rainbow Light and was very happy with it. A friend just gave me about 5 bottles of New Chapter Organics for free so I'm taking that now. I like it - no complaints on the nausea side or anything. I just wish it had similar vitamin values as Rainbow Light. I have to supplement some of the nutrients with my diet instead.

I spoke to a good friend who is also a vitamin expert, and he assured me that sometimes he likes New Chapter better because it doesn't give you too much excess that you just eliminate later. New Chapter is definitely better on my stomach, so I'm going to keep going with it. I'm just also taking a Calcium supplement in the meantime to cover my bases.

Yes, you'd be on CD 12. I recommend keeping up with the OPK's, even if a negative is a disappointment. My doctor told me I'd O between days 12 and 16... I ended up testing from days 10-20 and got a +OPK on CD20. You can O any time between now and later.

FYI: I've been using OPK's for 3 months and this was the first time I'd ever gotten a +. So that +OPK will be real exciting once you DO get it!

Lulu, if you don't test everyday, you might miss the surge! I tested twice a day to make sure I didn't miss the surge. I got a positive on CD 14 around 5pm, but I'm pretty sure the first test of the day was negative (faint line). The surge can last a few hours to a day or so but if you don't test every day then you probably might as well not test because you'll just be wasting your money on tests if you skip days.

Lulu, what time do you wake up? It's not recommended to test with OPK's in the morning... but early to late afternoon. Hope you get a :bfp: OPK soon!

Like Justina already said it's best to take them in the afternoon or if you can twice a day once after 2pm and then it the evening. The LH needs time to build up in your body to be detected on the OPK. Good luck!

Interesting :) My first positive OPK was at 4pm when it was *almost as dark* as the control line, then I tested again at midnight because we'd stayed out late and it was even darker than the control line. I was soooooooo psyched :)

Yup with pregnancy tests you want to take that with first morning urine because it is looking for the amount of human Chorionic Gonadotropin or hCG. It will be most concentrated in FMU so you are more likely to get a BFP.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you don't want to drink a whole lot within 2 hours before testing. Otherwise you might dilute your sample and miss your surge anyway.

A positive is great news! The LH surge that the OPKs measure doesn't last very long, so it's not surprising that you only got the one positive. Now you just have to wait for two weeks for find out the rest of the story! Good luck!

ok lemme try n explain this all in order. When dh and i first started tryin one of our names we had picked out was 'RORY.' So a couple months ago i was at my moms talkin to her about baby junk an told her 'hey we were thinking about the name rory, what do u think?' And she was like 'OMG i had that name picked out a long time ago when i first started trying for a baby.'
Last week DH and i went to eat chinese. so he opens his cookie and he has 2 fortunes. one says phone relatives of your good news! weird? I started to run out and get a preg test right then.
Lastly yesterday morning i got stopped by a train on the way to work. I was sitting there thinking about baby names and watching all the train cars go by. Well one car rolls by with "RORY" big as day on it!

Hey everybody! I know ive been gone for a while....I need some major friends right now. DH and I have been trying for almost a year now. I really thought i was preg this month and went to have blood and urine tests, they came back neg. I finally had to TELL my doc to refer me to a specialist. Ive been super bloated all this month, eating like crazy and been emotional. I also have been having a twinging feelin in my ovaries area on the left side. my LMP was april 9th. I dont understand what is wrong with me. Today is the 25 and still no AF. Has anybody gone through any of this or know what it is?

Ps. I had abnormal cells when i was about 20, but they never concluded anything and my mother had endometreosis.

Well I went to the specialist and he tends to think im not ovulating enough or at all. So i got put on provera n then clomid. I just finished my clomid yesterday. didnt really have any side effects with it. the provera made me have crazy dreams.
Anywho today is cycle day 10 so we'll start all the BD soon.
I sure missed yawl. :hug:

Well for an OV test a positive is only a positive if the test line is as dark or darker than the control. So a faint line isn't a positive (it's not like a pregnancy test).

The good thing is, if you just got the positive, you probably haven't missed it. The positive means that you should ovulate with 24-48 hours after that. Also, sperm can live up to 5 days in your cervical mucus so even a few days before and you can still get pregnant.

Im CD25 Im not 100% sure what day i O'd. Maybe CD18 or CD19 i got super dark lines on my OPKs. So I'd say 6DPO?

I think that's helpful to know :) I know that I personally have wasted a few tests by testing on days that it would have been impossible to detect. So impatient as you are, try to hold out until at least tomorrow, if not Sunday.

At least you know you ovulated... you'll be able to better time it next month... it stinks but i think the data is that if u time it PERFECTLY and there's sperm present when the egg arrives there's only like a 20% chance of conceiving...

At least you know you ovulated... you'll be able to better time it next month... it stinks but i think the data is that if u time it PERFECTLY and there's sperm present when the egg arrives there's only like a 20% chance of conceiving...

Hannah's Story

The book of 1 Samuel begins with the verses
"1 There was a certain man from Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. 2 He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none." (1 Samuel 1:1-2)

I always reflect on what could be worse than feeling you have disappointed your husband by not being able to get pregnant? To be one of your husbands two wives, always being compared to her and her abundance of children. Not only was her husbands other wife extremely fertile; it was not a healthy relationship...

"6 And because the LORD had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the LORD, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. 8 Elkanah her husband would say to her, "Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don't you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don't I mean more to you than ten sons?" (1 Samuel 1:6-8)

Yet one thing I love about the image we have of Hannah in the Bible is of her honesty and of her pouring out her pain and heartbreak to God. Rather than become bitter and turn from God she reaches out to him at her time of need and calls on him to answer her prayer.

"10 In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. 11 And she made a vow, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."
12 As she kept on praying to the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. 13 Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk 14 and said to her, "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine."
15 "Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. 16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief." (1 Samuel 1:10-16)

And God answers her prayer. And this answer is Samuel, who becomes a famous priest of God.

ok started AF on friday 7-30-10 so according to the OV calculator i should be BD'n around aug15-18 since my cycles are so spaced apart..? but im taking clomid days 3-7 this round so maybe itll be earlier....idk? lol anywho thats my update. :rassberry:

CD18 ok i think since i took my clomid earlier in my cycle i may have ovulated earlier. my temp for this past saturday(cd16) and sunday(cd17) was 98.47 both days. I had a lil cm.
Today it was 98.27 but i feel like my cervix is about to fall out. Its like i ovulate so hard that my lady parts are sore after. :bbconfused: Hurts bad today. But i just keep telling myself its all worth it.

Well i didnt have my HSG he just wants to do a laproscopy. I have two more months i can use clomid. (u can only use clomid for 6months). But i will have to wait til after the first of the year to have the surgery bc of the cost.

Good news: I had 3 big eggs in my ultrasound. 2 on my right and one super huge one on my left. he said normal was 2 cm and mine was 2.82! lol so idk what the prob is. but were just gunna keep tryin.

im doing the dye test anyways. I told them that my insurance covers it and im using all my uncostly options first dangit! lol scheduled for Jan 17 @ 9am. DR said sometimes even that helps to conceive by just 'cleaning out the cobwebs'. im on my TWW right now and clomid makes me eat like crazy during these 2weeks for some reason. hate it.
Im going to go to gnc this wknd ans try some fertility herbs. any suggestions? ive been on clomid for 6 months and cant use it anymore. what step is next?
