After waiting a lifetime for SKY to pull their finger out and give me Internet. It finally went "Live" twenty minutes ago. So now i can finally post some pictures of our new / old house.

I found some pictures of it when we first lived here three years ago. So you get an idea of what we first moved into. What we left. How it looked when we arrived back. And hopefully some "now" piccies.

I know you Ladies like to nose LOL.

The front of the House. This photo appeared on the Letting Agents Website when it went back on the market. How they managed to get hold of the photo is a mystery. It was one i took years ago on St George's Day because our Flags are in the windows.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113.jpg

The tree on the right is now about two foot taller. And when we moved back the weeds in the front patio made it all green.

When we moved back the garden was so overgrown we couldn't open one of the French Doors on the Conservatory. So i ended up hacking at the trees.

Found Sky and daylight behind.

This is it looking back at the house. You can see a bit of the Conservatory. Woohoo, we can now open the doors.

The previous occupants and the Landlord left us with a load of junk. Including three washing machines, three beds, three chairs and two tables. One of the tables was ours that we left here. But it was smashed to bits when we returned.

It took three collections by the Heavy Squad (Council run collection of old junk) One week they took two washers. The following week they took the third one. Then i had to wait another three weeks for them to take the rest.
Some of which i still had to take down the recycle plant by car. That took another three trips.

Moving this lot around the garden while i tried to sort stuff out was not my idea of fun. I took the photo as proof of the rubbish that was left behind.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0866.jpg

The other side of the garden didn't fair much better.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0800.jpg

But with brute force and ignorance i managed to clear it all out.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0857.jpg

The Conifer on the right by the fence was only a foot tall when we planted it.

The flower bed we put in last time. Nice to see everything had taken root. Even if it wasn't looked after by the previous tenants. I gave the little bushes a hair cut after the photo was taken.

Here's a few before and after piccies of the Lounge.

When we moved in the first time. This photo was taken as soon as the last box was inside. Looking back i forgot how "trendy" the wallpaper was (Not) lol.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSC01938.jpg

One of the opposite wall.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSC01950.jpg

When we removed the wallpaper we found a door that used to go into the Kitchen.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSC01951.jpg

DH decided it had to come out. Be replaced with proper board and plastered over. Here he is being all masterful LOL.

(Still the first time living here) DH plastered the walls while i was at work.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSC01970.jpg

They were then painted "Whiskey Cream" but i can't find a photo of the finished effect. :bbconfused:

When we moved back in. The Lounge was completely trashed. The previous tenants had stuck large posters over the walls. Resulting in damage to the coving. It wasn't until we moved back in that we found the mess behind the posters.

This is just one of the marks left on the walls.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0865.jpg

Because of this the room started to look very grubby. This was taken when we moved back in this time.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0750.jpg

And after two weeks of mayhem trying to get stuff sorted. DH painted the Lounge again.

This is it now.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0912.jpg

And where the door to the Kitchen used to be.

From the front window looking towards the Conservatory.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0916.jpg

We have sliding patio doors between the rooms. This is the glass door our Cat Elektra ran head first into the other day. :bbconfused: Now i make sure he sees me close them.

Looking from the Conservatory back to the front window.

Just out of shot is the Dollshouse i tracked down after 30+ years. Plus the "Pub" we are in the process of building. On the left are two other Dollshouses in my "Village".

I've been looking to get two new units to go each side of the TV. I really need to replace the shelving already in use. They have been dismantled and assembled so many times everytime we move. They are starting to look a bit tired. They will be OK to use in the Box Room where my eBay stock is. And will be ideal to store the stuff on ready for packing etc. Which also makes it easier to see what's there instead of rummaging through boxes. Even though every box is numbered and catalogued. It is tonnes easier to actually see the items.

So i had a look online at a store in town called Argos. It's a catalogue store which sells everything for the home.

Found two units in the sale and saved what converts to $50 for the two. :ura1:

They only had two left in stock so i've reserved them to collect when DH gets home from work tomorrow.

Oh the joys of flat-pack. DH is gonna kill me when he finds out. (He's asleep on the sofa at the moment).

The Windows with the Brown Frames is our house. So it measures from the start of the brick on the right. Across to half the Porch on the front and halfway between the top Brown Window on the left and the White Window Frame next to it. Does that make sense lol.

We have both floors. A small front garden. A Conservatory on the back that goes the full width of the House. And a back garden that's the same size as the House.

I've got some more photos to upload of the inside. Coming soon. ;)

Hope i can get these in order. Some are from when we first lived here. What we came back to and the "Now" shots.

When we first moved in the units were looking a bit tired. Door Handles were broken or missing. The Doors had to be cleaned with wire wool just to get the grease off.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSC01972.jpg

We gave everything a scrub. Replaced the Handles and painted the walls Terracotta just to brighten the room up. I don't have any photos of it when it was done. But here it is when we moved back in.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0751.jpg

Once again everything had to be scrubbed with wire wool. Then DH decided it needed painting. We couldn't make our minds up. We had a tin of Red for one wall in the Bedroom. And a tin of Green that we got for the Dining Room. So DH did a bit of each.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0881.jpg

We went with the Red. The sink is to the left of the back door. This part of the Kitchen is to the right.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0920.jpg

Then the fun began. After living with the Red. We decided to rip the Tiles off the wall and start again. Then replace the Worktops at the same time. This damaged the walls we had painted. So it was back to the drawing board for all of it. :bbconfused:

The original Tiles we so greasy. it was easier to rip them off and start again.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0895.jpg

All gone.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0896.jpg

Then we ripped the Wortops off. Which meant removing two Wall Units. These are each end of the Worktop. They go from the top of the Worktop to almost the Ceiling.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0902.jpg

Behind one we found the worst Electrics ever. How we never had a fire is beyond me.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0900.jpg

DH had to chase it all back and reconnect everything. Then we could take the Worktops out.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0906.jpg

Put in the new.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/DSCF0907.jpg

Put the Wall Units back. Then Tile it all.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/0042.jpg

The Doors to the right of the Cooker have been resprayed. The left hand side will hopefully be done before Christmas. :crossfingers:

Both rooms have Green Tiles. So we were kind of limited to what we could go with. If this was our House they would be knocked down and replaced floor to ceiling in the Bathroom.

When we first moved in.

This is the Conservatory at the back of the house. I have to use a hook on the end of a Broom to open the bolts on the doors. The doors are about 10 feet tall.

Please excuse the old Worktop leaning against the wall. We haven't had the weather to burn it. :bbconfused:

The Dining Room from the Front Door. This is next to the Stairs that take you to Three Bedrooms, Bathroom and Toilet.

The door at the back leads through to the Kitchen.

http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/mitchymoomoo/113/005.jpg

The Carpet is absolutely filthy. It really needs a scrub. (Or a match and some Petrol lol)

DH plans to re-decorate the Dining Room, Hall, Stairs and Landing in the new year. Ripping the paper off and re-skimming the walls. We did some of it before we moved out last time. But then decided it was quicker to wallpaper over because the other house was ready.

Until the walls are done i'll have to live with the crudy Carpet.

I just squint a bit as i walk through.

DH was still papering it at 2.AM when we moved out a few hours later. :bbconfused:

Some High-End Worktops have Wooden fronts in the UK. Whoever did this got the idea from a Magazine. Brought it home. And bodged it.

When we took the Worktops out. We found they were back to front. And the true round edge was at the back by the wall. They had glued the wood to the straight edge which should go to the back.

There have been so many different Families living here over time. All doing a bit to each room. Resulting in a complete mixture of good, bad, ugly and **** right dangerous. That's why we decided to take it back to basics and start over.

OMG that's hilarious - that totally sounds like something we'd find in our house! Some wannabe carpenter took liberties with our house before we got it, and I can't believe some of the stuff in our house!!

Back to front counter-tops to accommodate the baseboards for edging  That's just great!
