Air filter/purifier for allergies?

I have tried just about everything else to deal with my allergies, so I am looking at maybe getting an air filter/purifier too.

So anyone with allergies tried any particular product in your home that worked for you and have any recommendations?

I have really light allergies so i bought a purifier for like 30 bucks from target... i can say it made a little difference, I would usually just run it at night though in the bedroom....

I must say I don't use it much anymore, except when one of us is sick... then I'll run it while we're sleeping in hopes that SOME of the yucky germs get sucked up and the other doesn't get sick...
