And not a drop to drink. :bbconfused:

DH and Myself have been remodelling the Kitchen. Which involved taking worktops off and replacing them with new. To change the one around the inlaid Sink we had to turn the water off.

This went smoothly. But when we turned it back on we had no cold water upstairs. A plumber at work (The Hotel is having a refit) suggested turning it off again. Draining the tank (Again) switching it all back on and flushing it through. OK we'll try that.

So last night DH got home from work and did as suggested. When we turned the water on again there was a bang in the attic. Water came gushing out the attic, through the Bedroom ceiling, through the floor and into the Dining Room. :realmad: Lucky enough DH was still at the stopcock and managed to turn it off right away.

Phoned the Landlord who said he'll sort it "Tomorrow". (Which is now Today)
I said that wasn't acceptable as we can not go another day without water. So he said call a Plumber and send him the bill. So we did that.

The Plumber came out and did a temp fix on the pipe. He knows our Landlord is infamous for not paying bills. So he suggested a quick repair and phone the Landlord again with a true quote for the proper repair. (This involves a whole new pipe from the Water Tank in the attic to the Boiler in the Bedroom. Around £100).

So today i've had to take the day off. Will be phoning the Landlord at 9AM to see what he says. If he wont pay the bill then i will hit him where it hurts. I will pay the Plumber myself and deduct it from this months rent. See what he says about that!!

If this was our house i would renew every single pipe in the attic. As everything appears to be a bodge job up there.

I'd also re-wire the entire house too. We've come across some real dodgy electrics since re-modelling began. But that is another story lol.

Now where did i put my Flippers and Snorkel.

LMAO Glad you find it funny. I nearly drowned.

I was busting for a pee and dying for a cup of tea last night. It's surprising how we take water for granted. And realise how much we use when there isn't any.

I phoned the Landlord and told him the quote. After a sharp intake of breath he said he will get someone he knows round. Still waiting for them to turn up. I lost a days pay waiting in. He's got the rest of today and until tomorrow at 4PM to get back to me.

If not then the gloves go on, the bell gets rung and i come out fighting. :jpboxer:

Rents due Friday i can easily hold £100 back if he wants to get funny. And everyday he doesn't get back to me i hold £20 back from next months Rent. The longer he leaves it the more i hold onto.

Tomorrow night we're at a Black Stone Cherry Gig so i wont care about the house then. Gotta have somethings to look forward to right.

Oh my word!!! I would be getting the gloves ready if I was you! The other day, our sewage backed up and we couldn't do anything water wise. It was horrible! We had to go to my aunt's house to shower and spend the day and just hope that it would be fixed before we got back.

Hopefully it will clear up and everything will clear up! However, it will be nice to get out of it!:yesnod:

After screaming and shouting at SKY to get the Internet connected for the past three months (Which incidently should be connected tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath lol). I've got to the stage where i'm fed up chasing others to do their job. Maybe it's a case of burying my head in the sand. Or water off a ducks back now. But hitting my head against a brick wall is starting to bruise LOL.

At least when we look into buying this place next year. We can go to the Estate Agents and say the plumbing needs renewing. The Electrics need rewiring and give a long list of defects. We should get thousands off the asking price.

DH worked out that the Landlord has had about £12,000 (Approx $18,959) from work we did here. When we lived here before we spent loads decorating. When we left, the rent went up an extra £175 a month because the house was habitable. Add that over the time spent away plus what we did in the house. And it adds to a pretty packet.
Now we have him haggling over a measly £100. :bbconfused:

As DH always says. I've lost more money running for the bus.

Oh no! DH and I had an emergency bathroom remodel in our old house (the bath tub was draining into the basement!) that left us without water for a few days - and no bathroom for almost a week! We ended up going to the gym first thing in the morning to pee and shower!

I think getting it fixed and deducting the cost from your rent is more than reasonable! Or just show up at the landlord's door suitcase in hand and stay there till he fixes the problem! LOL!

Plumber turned up. Then found another pipe leaking. :realmad: So he fixed that straight away.

But he has to come back to fix the original split pipe because he doesn't hold 20mm pipe in his van. :bbconfused:

He asked to come back tomorrow around the same time. But we're out at a Gig. So he's coming back Friday at 5.30PM.

So even though i stayed in all day for him to eventually turn up at 6PM. I managed to get the Bathroom finished. So not a totally wasted day.

I'm just catching this - wow mitch. That really sucks the landlord dragged his feet and you're having to suffer for it. I hope this guy gets everything taken care of for you tomorrow (today for you, right?).

DH went to use the shower yesterday. There's no water coming out of it. :realmad:

The Plumber is back this evening to fix the first leak in the 20mm pipe. He can sort the shower out too while he's here. It was working fine until he fixed the second pipe he found leaking.

Then to top it all. SKY said our Internet would be connected yesterday. Still waiting. :realmad:

Yesterday was not a good day.

But at the least the evening went with a bang. The gig we went to rocked.
Got home at 1.30AM and now walking around like a zombie after getting up again at 4.30AM :boggle:

Fingers crossed for an easy day at work.
