I think it could be cool... I've only popped in once or twice and there's never really anybody there, so I don't think to use it. But if a bunch of users started chatting more often, I'd join in.

I'm on right now and the only one in there. I think thats the reason why alot of people don't use it more...cause it stays so empty people don't expect others to be in there chatting. If we could get more people in the habit of at least popping in once in a while...chat would be alot more fun.
When I'm on the forums, i pop into chat and put the window in the background. I have my sound on so i can hear when people pop in...so it doesn't just feel like i sitting around waiting. But it does stay empty for hours at a time.

I prefer the boards more. No offense to any ladies here, but once you get in the chat and start talking, its hard to get out and abruptly end the coversation. Most of the time I go on OW to kill time, or pop in and see certain updates on different threads for 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there. Or, if I'm on for a longer period of time, its because I'm at work. Its bad enough getting caught on the forum, better not get caught in a chat! ;)
I voted that I prefer the boards more and I try to get in there from time to time. However, in my line of work - I can post up on the boards every so often and not have the obligation of holding up my end of a conversation. I don't have anyone waiting on my response right now if I post up on here. I don't have much time for chatting because it's demanding - not saying you ladies are demanding, it's just the way Chat is. If someone asks me a question, or if I'm in the middle of a conversation with someone, a response is required more like immediately than in a few hours :)
But I do try to stop in once in a great while just for the heck of it.

Yeah I pretty much feel the same as Jeane and Justina :fear:
While chat can be fun from time to time, I am generally on and off all day and just prefer the board format. That way I can be on when I can and step away when I have to.

I voted that I try to chat once in a while. I log into live chat every once in a while but no one has ever been in the room the same time as me! It isn't something I always think of but I suppose if I ever saw anyone in there I would chat with them.

You can add me to the "don't have time to chat" list. I love checking on the board threads that I am interested in - and sometimes even end up having a mini chat with someone that way, but once I get started chatting it's hard to leave without feeling rude, so I just avoid it all together! Of course I am also one of those people who has NEVER chatted on AIM, or Yahoo, etc. I have a Gmail account, but it's always set so I am invisible!

I'm on here all day pretty much and I still chose I prefer the board format. I  you guys bunches, but when I think of live chat I think of the days when I had AOL dial up and every time I signed on to check my mail I'd get bombarded with IM messages. All I wanted to do was check my e-mail!! :frantic: Half the time I'm on here I feel like we respond to each other in real time anyway...

lol...i'm on here all day too. But i'm an i/m queen. I love aol instant messenger and chat rooms. I guess i've gotten good at it and that may be why i prefer it.
I think chat may just be for some people and not for others.

I love to chat if I have nothing else going on - however, I now work full time and I'm a full time student, and I recently bought a home that needs a lot of work. So, while I enjoy IM'ing and Chat, it takes a lot of time that I can't spare... so I refresh OW every 5 minutes instead

I'm used to Chatrooms that have about 20-30 people in. That's how i met DH. And some of the people in that Chatroom have become lifelong friends and came to our Wedding. ;)
I've been in Chat here a couple of times. Most of the time it's names i don't even know from the boards here. So it's like chatting with a "Stranger" and not someone i "Know" from OW. Does that make sense lol. :bbconfused:
Plus the time zone is too confusing for me this time of year. The clocks change soon so i wont know if i'm coming or going. :frantic:

I really like the live chat feature, especially when there are a lot of people in there. There was a time last year when there would be a group in there every night, almost. It was always me who had to leave early because I had to work, which everyone else didn't mind. I wouldn't mind if it was like that again. :)
