Hey everyone!
I'm new to the site and joined to try and get some DIY ideas. I am still on the fence about what to do with my bouquets. I am on a budget so having a florist do them is out. I am going to make them myself, but am unsure on whether I should use silk flowers or try to buy some real ones in bulk. Does anyone have some advice?

The best thing to do is probably just look around, get ideas of what you like, and check around to see pricing of both silk and real. You could do something like go to the dollar store and buy silk flowers there to test your talents with bouquet making. There are also times when places like Michael's have their silk flowers half off. There might be someone here who has ordered real flowers who might know more.
Another option is to check out the farmers market. My aunt contacted them for both of my cousins' weddings, and got gorgeous bouquets for very cheap. I kind of wish we had done that (though we managed to find a very reasonable florist).

I think it is personal opinion. For one, if you use silk, you can make them ahead of time and not have to add that stress last minute. However, I think that silk roses are not as pretty as real ones??? Just my opinion though. Maybe those are some things that you can take in consideration. Are you wanting to go ahead and get them done? and what looks better to you.
Good luck! And Welcome btw!:yesnod:

I'd say to look around and check out prices and then decide.
I'm doing my own flowers.I'm using silk. With real flowers you can't do them until the night before wedding or the morning of.And I didn't want to put a lot on my plate on the morning of.At least with the silk I can do them a week or 2 in advance.
