Reception Type

What kind of Reception are you having? Is there a special reason why you're having that type? Please explain! I know this is similar to a poll posted earlier.. sorry!!

I'm having a buffet dinner because I think that my guests would be happier to have more control over what they eat and how much they eat. I'm also looking at my budget and it was the best deal for what we were going for. My reception site does a wonderful job with buffets!!

We are having a seated meal. I want my reception as formal as I can an a served plated meal encompasses that for me...I love the idea!

We would have loved to have had a sit down dinner but our budget wouldn't allow it and the fact that our wedding was on a sunday afternoon. So we had champagne, cake and finger foods. We also did not want a very long reception stemming from the fact that we took no time off the next day from work. Sucks right!!! but it was nice and enjoyable to all.

We had a hors devoures (sp?) reception. We looked over the buffet menu and the seated menu and both were expensive. This wasn't cheap either but out of everything it was the cheapest.

We had about 6 different hors devoures plus veggie, fruit, and cheese trays.

We are having a traditional Iowa buffet style reception.

We had a seated dinner with cocktail hour before hand and then one hell of a party afterwards. It is just the type of wedding that we felt we should have. We wanted a formal event but we still wanted to have fun once the formalities were over.

We're having a buffet dinner and lunch. The lunch is because the wedding is in the morning, and the reception at night. Also, our ceremony is expected to last up to an hour and a half. The reason we chose buffet is because we're having 2 cultures at our wedding, indian and american. Therefore, we need both types of food, and it makes more sense to let everyone choose exactly what they might want to eat. In that way, the american's can try the indian food if they want as well.
