We had a cash bar at our reception/party. I put a notice in the invites to bring a 'DD' ... we didn't invite anyone under 21 so we didn't have to worry about that. I think it went well.

Our reception hall had a bar so who ever wanted a drink bought their own.

Yeah we did and I kind of regret it. Some people on my side of the family can REALLY drink and they got really, really, drunk. My DH was upset because at one point of the night, he was trying to talk to his grandma and my uncle kept hanging on him and hounding him.
We had beer provided to the guests and any other type of drinks, they had to go to the bar and pay for them themselves.

Alcohol is only an extra $6 per person for us so we're going with it. We all feel its worth it!! :drunk:

We are having 2 kegs of beef and probably margaritas. They were charging to much for wine or I would want wine too.

Yeah, I kind of have to if I want my guests to stay more than for just the free meal...a lot of my relatives are big drinkers.

Yes, we are having alcohol. We will be providing a keg and champagne and the rest the guests will have to pay for.

Our reception is at the church - no alcohol permitted. However, if someone needs a drink that bad, they can go down the street to the bar after the reception.

We aren't having any alcohol at the reception ...the subject never came up really... we just aren't having a bar since we won't be drinking, we have too far to travel that night (as most of our guests do) so it was never an issue.

Oh, yes, we had alcohol. The open bar was included in the price per person then we added on wine service with dinner and a martini bar that was based on consumption. It was expensive but it was worth it. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time. Sean and I enjoy a drink or two. Our friends all enjoy a drink a or two. We are all responsible adults. I saw no reason not to offer a bar at my wedding.

We're having open bar for 4 hours of our 6 hour reception. After the 4 hours, its a cash bar. The reception hall includes the 4 hours in our very inexpensive price per head, and we had no choice anyway, some of our guests are big drinkers and we'd never hear the end of it if we didn't have some open bar!

Yes, but it's a cash bar. (That's somewhat common around here from the weddings I've been to....)
