Hi there! I'm a new wedding consultant in CT and wanted to say hello! Also wanted to make sure I'm headed down the right direction in starting my own business. For all you wedding coordinators out there, how did you start?

Welcome to the board :) I started by doing a course and a LOT of research. In short, I studied cuisine, design, travel, etc. informally as they are all aspects of our business. Formally, I studied business and law, which helps out big time! I also found a great group of other planners to network with and bounce ideas off of. They have been a great resource; a lot of us started at the same time, so it is great to see how we have come up and to pull those up who are also just starting.

Between working as a wedding photographer, at a wedding facility and a florist, I got lots of experience in the industry. I've done both photography and planning on my own. These days I just do planning on the side. I just love weddings and can't seem to fully get out of the industry ;)
