With the arrival of many new brides I have noticed that we have some from a couple of different faiths and we all know that we all come from very different backgrounds. What I thought would be interesting is for us to do some research or provide some insight on different faiths and/or cultures wedding practices. Please post pics, links, and articles.

I think it would be a neat idea to add some of these culture rich practices into some of the "normal" American weddings. For instance, jumping the broom in an African wedding.

Before we start, I think it might be good to have a new thread for each
culture that you may want to represent or faith. Let me know what you think and you can start a thread or I can if you want.

Let me know how you guys think this should be done or if you want to even do it!

I think that it sounds interesting. I wouldn't be able to contribute much, but woudl be interested to read what others contribute!!!

I love this idea, Kacie!! I'm Irish on my Dad's side, our last name is Malloy. So I could do a thread on Irish weddings if no one else claims that one. :D

Yes Karen, start an Irish wedding thread!

Ok, do you want me to just do it when I get it organized, or do you have a timeframe in mind?

Just do it whenever. I think this is just interesting and anyone could add interesting cross-cultural things into their weddings from any culture. I already started an Asian one!
