Okay, So I was thinking of doing the same style bridesmaids dresses but in different colors - Pink, Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Green. I want to do a tea length dress. For my dress, I want some subtle colorful embellishments. One of my bridesmaids found some ideas online. What does everyone think? Too much?

I love this bouquet. Anyone know how I would go about making something like this? Maybe do ones for bridesmaids to match their dress...

That bouquet is super fun - never seen anything like that before!
The cake would be too much color for me, but if you love it that's what you should do!

I know! I have never seen a bouquet like that before. I don't think it would be too difficult to make.
Oh wow I love the look of the colored sash and petticoat - the bouquet is interesting!
I absolutely LOVE the cake! It is a bit much color for me (says the one who had a black wedding cake LOL), but I absolutely love it - it's gorgeous and unique!

Those both are very unique, I've never seen anything like them! :)
The boquet almost looks like Christmas ornaments. Like if you got the plastic ones and took the hanging piece out of them and found a stick to replace it with. You could then tie ribbon around the sticks or something else so they are hidden.

i'm with gwen! the bouquet is neat, fun, and definitely "offbeat" or "uniquely you"!!!:yesnod:
maybe, just maybe IMHO, if the cake were fondant, versus soft icing, it'd be a little more "put together"...does that make sense? the airbrushing just looks so, idk kind of busy....but like gwen said, it's all up to you! i mean, some may think my opinion is negative, but i don't mean for it to be! it's just, idk...
this here is neat though:yesnod:

the bouquet is cute.. i actually looked at that one when i was looking for unique ideas when i was putting mine together.
they look fairly simple to make....
I would collect the plastic ornaments in the colors you want ... make sure you hot glue or super glue the top on and hook like an 18 guage wire about a foot long to each of them and tie them together with a ribbon...

I think it is wonderful - go for your own ideas at your own wedding :yesnod:
I love the idea of a coloured petticoat - may consider that myself, as I too am going for a tea-length dress.

I think maybe I will get some of my bridesmaids together and we will make some sample ones. It seems like a fun project! Wish me luck :yesnod:

Yeah, I think the ball bouquet would be easy enough to make from Christmas balls like Kira said. Just get some sort of stick to be the base then tie the wire and ribbon around that :)
I was at a wedding many years ago that had a tie dye cake kind of like that one you posted.

I want my BM's to wear different colors also. But their not going for it.
If your going to use christmas bulbs for your bouquets your beable to get them dirt cheap right before and after christmas.

OP, if you google "christmas ornament bouquet" somewhere there are the full instructions on how to do it ;) it's on a DIY website...it looked really neat! i'm wondering, if you could do it with other plastic ornaments, that way each bouquet is unique?

Okay, so I just googled "Christmas ornament bouquet" and I found the website from where that picture of the bouquet came from! Her wedding looked so fun! The bridesmaids had paper flower bouquets and they looked really neat. One of my bridesmaids is staying with me next weekend... maybe I can convince her to make some practice bouquets! I will post them if we do! :bbmrgreen:
