Happy 4 weeks to me!!! LOL
Yes...I am only 4 weeks and have told everyone!!! Here's what I figure. IF (HUGE IF) something were to happen, it was destined to happen whether or not I told people...So why not just enjoy this excitement.

2 Days ago I went in for bloodwork and my Beta was 60 (12 DPO). I needed the bloodwork becuase I started bleeding a little and thought I was going to miscarry. Well, the doctor sent me to the hospital for some labs and sure enough I was pregnant. Stopped bleeding about 4 hours later and haven't bleed since :)

Soo...today I go in for another Beta to make sure my numbers are doubling and I'm feeling REALLY positive about it. Oh and finally my boobs are starting to hurt!!! WAHOOO...My first pregnancy symptom!!!!

Wish me luck for a nice high beta!

Yep...I actually was one of the FEW that got a positive HPT on 8DPO and a positive Digital on 9DPO!!!!

reminder, Beta on Tuesday was 60

Today = 197!!! That's MORE than double

Downfall = Progesterone is lower...And so I am now on a daily vaginal progesterone suppository for the entire first trimester.
Another downfall = Including insurance coverage, this prescription is 60 dollars PER MONTH!!! Ughhh...Thank god the first trimester is only 3 months!

But yay for good news!!!

No yolk sac, no embryo, no nothing. :( So we go back next Friday HOPING that we are just too early to have seen anything. So next week I should be 7 weeks 1 day...We definitely SHOULD see something by then...

If not, This might not be a viable pregnancy and I'll just go on to miscarry.

Soo, we're asking for any spare prayers or thoughts that you can send our way...We'll take them!

To give you some hope, the same thing happened to me. I went in at 5 weeks 6 days or something and they could not see the baby...at 7 weeks they did! I think you're okay :yesnod:

That's why they usually wait until 7 or 8 weeks to even check. When I went in at 7 weeks 6 days, the doc was a little worried she might not even see anything.

Had my third appointment today.

Lost 5 pounds! Probably because NOTHING is appetizing to me these days :( Baby's heartbeat was 160bpm. My "baby bump" is VERY normal. I have a very high bump right now. She said the lower half will fill out in the coming weeks. I also found out that I'll need a 28 week rhogam shot cause my baseline bloodwork says that my blood type is A negative. RH negative. (no idea...)

Got my H1N1 vaccine. So I'm all vaccinated now. And last but not least, the "big" ultrasound is scheduled for 2-4-10. But, as you all know, we won't be finding out the sex! NO MATTER WHAT!!! LOL

Are you excercising at all? I am hoping to not gain any weight during the pregnancy, or even lose a little. I had lost about 15 pounds before I found out I was pregnant, and have maintained that since then despite all the eating I've been doing! Like you, nothing sounds good usually, but I feel sick when I get hungry so I try to eat consistently. Unfortunately what I usually end up eating is defintitely not healthy! I've been trying to walk, but haven't really had the energy lately.

Liz, Honestly, I don't feel like eating half the time. The doctor doesn't want me to gain more than 15 pounds. (i'm very overweight) But I'm eating healthier choices now. For snacks I eat like cheese and crackers, grapes, pretzels, and popcorn. I eat a bagel for breakfast. Lunch is usually like a salad or something small (no lunchmeat though :(). For dinner it's just normally what I would ahve eaten prior to being pregnant.
Now would be a good time for the H1N1 shot. I've read that women should wait until thier second trimester (my doctor says 12 weeks is second tri)...

When it comes to blood and your type and your RH factor it can be a little confusing.... My SIL had this so let me see if I can remember how this works.....
RH is a protein that most people have on the surface of their red blood cells. If you do have the Rh factor, your status is Rh-positive. If you don't have it, you're Rh-negative, and you'll need to take certain precautions during your pregnancy. Which is why they are giving you the shot.

If your baby's blood leaks into yours (as it can at certain times during pregnancy and at birth), your immune system wil start to produce antibodies against this Rh-positive blood. If that happens, you'll become "Rh-sensitized" and those antibodies may attack your baby's blood.That is why they give you the shot so that you can avoid becoming Rh-sensitized and the baby will stay safe and healthy.

So that is good that they tested you and gave you the shot.... one less thing to worry about! :yesnod:

I was just reading about this last night and Brenda explained it perfectly - the only other thing the book said was that it usually isn't even an issue with first pregnancies, since it can take a while for the anti-bodies to build up, but it may effect later pregnancies of you don't get the shot. Once you have the shot you don't have to worry about it again.

How exciting to get the BIG ultrasound scheduled!! Since you aren't finding out the sex maybe you can have them spend extra time looking at baby's face!

Haley, Yep..Ultrasound is scheduled!!!!! I'll be 22 weeks by then...HOLY COW!!!!

That's what my doctor told me, too, no more than 15 pounds, but I would love to not even gain that (since I'm very overweight also.) I had been making better choices, but recently NOTHING has sounded good, so I'm eating whatever is quick and easy, which usually isn't healthy! After Christmas I will just be student teaching so hopefully I will be able to make better choices, since my schedule won't be so crazy with work and school.

And I think I will ask about the H1N1 on my next visit.

I also wanna report that DH was able to feel the baby moving last night from the outside! I've been feeling the baby inside for about 1-2 weeks now...yesterday I was laying on the couch and had my hand on my stomach. All of a sudden I got a light kick but DEFINITELY kicked.
later in the night after I ate dinner the baby went wild. I called DH over and he put his hand on ym stomach. The baby IMMEDIATELY kicked him and it was strong. LOL. He was shocked cause he "thought it was all in your head"...LOL

Also, I passed my 3 hour glucose test. Failed the first one the week before, so I am really excited!!!! I have to do it again in 7 more weeks though :(

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. I need to go back in 2 weeks. My blood pressure was way to high 144/82. So after worrying sooo much about possibly having gestational diabetes, now I need to worry about hypertension and Preeclampsia. Ugggghhh Does it ever end????
I'm also having contractions. Even had one while I was there. She said it's completely normal to have contractions here and there However if they become stronger and more consistent then I need to call the office immediately.
Baby's heartbeat was 144 bpm. I'm starting to think boy for me...I've been thinking only girl, but lately my mind is changing. I guess that other than an ultrasound there really is no way to tell :)
Soo...Next appointment is February 16th. Fingers crossed for better blood pressure!

Nothing for the contractions. I just need to monitor them and make sure they're not coming too frequently.
She didn't put me on anything for the blood pressure just yet. She mentioned preeclampsia and that made me extremely nervous. Soo...I'm watching my salt intake and gonna walk more. (wasn't her advice, but can't hurt right?)
And yes...We already had our big ultrasound :) It's still a surprise :)

Hopefully your blood pressure was high just because you got yourself worked up into a nervous frenzy;) I do that to myself to when I got to the doctor's. Plus just being there with all the weird smells and stuff makes me anxious in general.

I have to share this cause it actually made me laugh at 2:30 this morning...LOL

My baby had the hiccups! I didn't know that it would have felt like that, but for about 8 minutes straight, this baby was hiccuping!!!! I was laying on my side and felt the hiccup on my left side and then a kick on my right. LOL. It was like every time the baby hiccuped, his/her body started gettign involved.

I'm totally smitten over this baby! What a funny and wonderful experience. DH wasn't happy that I was laughing at 2:30 in the morning. Ohhh well :)

I'm sooo bad at updating this journal...lol I promise to do better especially as I get closer to the due date!!!

First things first... Furniture is all set up. Tonight we get the last peice (it finally came in) and we're setting it up and then I'll share pictures with you all :) I just wanna wait until I can show the completed room.

Also, my registery is finally complete! It took 3 weeks to finish it, but I think it's finally done! This also means that my mom has been asking for addresses of people from work that I would like to invite to my baby shower...YAY!!! The shower "I think" is scheduled for April 25th but my silly mom has mentioned the first weekend in May as a date too. Ughhh...I have no idea!

Also, I had my doctor's appointment this past Tuesday and my blood pressure was good!!! it was 130/80 and baby's heartbeat is 148-152. Anyone have any quesses on gender yet???
