Ugh, this is more of a vent than anything. But starting probably Sunday I started having a toothache. It actually started as a sensitive tooth, and then progressed to this. I have a lot of dental problems and had this problem with a different tooth a few months back and I was able to get rid of it in like 2-3 days....but this one is terrible. Its keeping me up at night (hence the reason why I'm up right now...I slept for an hour and a half and woke up with this terrible pain again and can't get back to sleep.) Now it feels like my lip might be swelling up a bit....it stinks, but I'm thinking that I might have to call into work tomorrow and make an emergency trip to the dentist.....and plus, right now I don't have insurance. :censored: I think I may call my mom tomorrow and find out if maybe I can squeeze in on their insurance still (I just went off of it but my insurance with my job doesn't kick in until September)....but otherwise, we may have to just bite the bullet and just have another bill to pay. Arg.....

No, where do I get that at? I've really been trying everything. I remember when I had braces they suggested if you had a lot of pain (which I didn't) to swoosh warm salt water....I tried that and it made it worse. I did discover that swooshing mouthwash helps a little bit.
It doesn't hurt so bad this morning, so I'm probably going to end up going to work....but if it gets really bad at work, I might have to tell my boss I need to leave.

Ouch!! Mouth pain is the worse, it's sensitive there. I would try to go the Mom insureance way, but if that doesn't work, you'll have to go ahead and pay for it. You have to get some sleep soon, Katie!! :D

Few things in this world are worse than a toothache. (migraines and kidney stones being the only things) so I really feel for you. Maybe try some Oragel or Ambesol until the dentist can get you in. If you can't work it out with your insurance, maybe see if your dentist can bill you over the period of 2-3 months to make the financial pain a bit better?

Ive always heard that a toothache is caused by infection, so if youre using and anti-bacterial mouth wash, that explains why it feel better after rinsing.
I would try to get into the dentist. I would hate for you to end up with an absessed (sp?) tooth close to your wedding!!!

Its feeling a lot better this morning. After I got offline last night, I fell asleep and slept until morning...which was really nice. But I'm still super tired. I made it through the day at work, but it was kind of hard...so I'm going to get a travel size mouthwash to take to work with me so I can rinse with that when the pain starts to get bad. Last time I had this pain (on the tooth I had my root canal on...after I had the root canal done, but it is from an absess that I have on my gums that I'll always have) I put anti-bacterial ointment on it and rinsed with mouthwash and it fixed it all....I have TERRIBLE problems with my teeth and gums....it runs in the family. But I guess after this I'm going to have to start rinsing with mouthwash on a daily basis...even though I hate the stuff!

I work as a dental assistant in a dentist office, it sounds like u may have a start of an infection if u do it will not go away but only get worse... I would get it checked out , it may not be that bad.....I have seen people put tooth aches off and come in so swollen (and it can happen in no time) they can hard swallow and are on the verge a terrible infection that can spread thru out .........

Its doing much better this morning. Its pretty much done the same thing that happened the last time I had this problem...I guess I'm just going to have to swoosh with mouthwash everyday to prevent the problem from reoccuring...ugh.
