It seems the trees are dropping acorns a lot lately. We have noticed a few in the yard and hear them hitting the roof several times a day.
Today I have seen a A LOT in the yard and hear them falling in the neighbor's yard too. We have trees in the front yard, on the side of the house and in the neighbors yards on all sides.
When we (me and the dogs) went outside a little while ago we noticed them falling from the tree on the side of the house literally every minute or so! How many acorns can one tree have?! I wish I could get rid of them all.
Could you imagine if every one of those became a new tree?!
So now I am worried about going over on that side of the yard as one might fall on our head
I hope them falling on the roof won't cause any damage as we just got a new roof!
I hope they don't attract more squirrels and chipmunks either :jp3:

Wow, your description reminds me of hail, although that melts. Surprisingly enough, I have not seen that many acorns... ever. There must not be that many trees that produce them where I've lived. So they still kind of amaze me if I see them, lol. Hopefully they won't damage anything at your house.

Sorry Brandi, but that's FUNNY  the smiley really adds character :D
I think the roof will be okay - do you have comp shingles?? I would think comp shingles would be fine.. some other roof types may not hold up as well.

It is ok, I thought it was sort of funny too ;)
Yeah, I don't know what kind of shingles we have :anxious:

We don't have acorn trees so I don't think I have ever seen an acorn, haha!

Rake them up and find some friendly goats to give them to! Acorns are a favorite treat at my family's goat farm.

Sure, if you want to drive over to AL to get them, you can borrow them for as long as you want. Just drive carefully, most of them are pregnant!

Oh I'm sorry Brandi! Where I went to college there were tons of trees with acorns. And whenever I would walk to class I would specifically walk around them, even though it meant walking up a hill or on the grass. :eureka: All my friends used to make fun of me, until one day a huge gust of wind came and shook all the acorns on to my friends. I'm a little bit ashamed to say I had a pretty good laugh at their expense. :laugh2:

I can't give you any more rep yet :D
However, I was going to say I got a few goats you can borrow but I think Sandy's are closer than mine LOL.

Thanks for the offer on the goats guys ;)
My poor dogs get spooked everytime they hit the roof.
