Anyone know any good ways to get rid of it at home? I'm so busy I don't have time to go to the doctor, I work tonight, tomorrow I have to take DH to the airport before work, and I work all weekend.

Anyone ever tried the mixng 1/2 tsp baking sode with 8oz water and drinking it trick? Did it work? I know I'm going to drink a lot of water today.

I need to get ride of this, we need to be baby dancin this time next week haha

Aww, I'm sorry!

I've never had one, but I know that they say to drink cranberry juice, but the all natural kind, not the super sugary kind. Apparently it has some sort of property that can help to kill the infection.
Or you can get cranberry pills, but I'm not sure where they sell them.

But I think if you have an actual UTI that you need to get antibiotics for it to completely go away.

Oh man that sucks!! I think cranberry juice is supposed to help, but I have no proof. lol Hope you can get rid of it fast, UTI's are not fun.

I have heard the cranberry juice stuff, so I think I'm going to get some of that. I've had a few UTI's before, and only one other time did I need antibotics, usually my body fights them pretty good - so hopefully that is the case again this time (that I don't need antibotics)

I heard that your supposed to drink alot of cranberry juice too...but i would still make a trip to the dr....for an antibotic, you don't want it to get worse.

I went to the store, and I actually got some cranberry supplements, because I actually hate cranberry juice (actually any juice at all) and plus I read that you would have to drink A LOT of cranberry juice to get the same amount that you would in the supplements.

If it doesn't go away over the weekend I'll go to the doctor Monday. I wouldn't be able to go before then, sadly.

Cranberry juice and yogurt are supposed to help. Sierra gets them all the time. Oh, and NO BATHS! That's what causes them for her anyway. I hope you can kick this by this time next week! I would think you'll be good to go in a couple of days.

Good luck!

I have heard of yogurt for yeast infections, but not for UTI hmm I'm sure it couldn't hurt :)

True - and I hadn't heard of it for UTI's either, but for some reason Matt's mom encourages her to eat it when she's down with it. Maybe she gets em mixed up

All I have ever heard is to drink lots of water and take antibiotics if it is bad.

Feel better :flower4u:

Call the doctor right away! They give you these little blue or red pills to get rid of it in a couple of days!!! Other than that, lots and lots and lots of water helps too!

I had a UTI back in March, and my doctor told me that although cranberry juice would help, your not going to get ride of the infection, unless you take antibiotics. I was on antibiotics for five days and it cleard it right up. As a precautikn, I now take cranberry tablets once a day. it helps keep urinary tract healthier. Hope this helps.

Ugh, I just got one 2 weeks ago and it returned, not nearly as bad as before. I'm trying to fight it off myself too. I'm going to try AZO for UTI and taking a cranberry supplement.

I ended up taking cranberry supplements, 2 pills 3 times a day starting Thursday until yesterday. I also drank a TOn of water. Yesterday it was mostly gone and today it is totally gone. It was painful during it, but thankfully gone :)
