View Full Version : Amy's Way of Life Journal

So I'm starting a journal. I'm calling it my way of life journal, because it's what it is. It's not a diet, but how I'd like to start eating for good. I need to be better at choosing good foods over the bad foods, and keeping track of what I eat. Basically it's my journal to keep track of what I'm eating and how much I'm exercising. So I'm accountable to something else than myself And to hopefully get support when I need it. I'm gonna try and post every day, even if I do bad or don't work out.
Right now, I'm calorie counting and going for between 1200-1500 calories a day. Sometimes I have lower than 1200 (which I know I should be getting at least 1200) and sometimes a little higher. I usually let myself go a little bit over the weekend, to eat something I normally wouldn't eat during the week. Maybe it's going out to dinner, having Chinese, or an ice cream sundae. I don't deny myself cravings on weekends, because I know if I do, then I may go off track and binge on things like chocolate or cookies. So I let myself have ice cream or junk type food. I also eat every 3 hours or so. I have fruit in the morning, my light lunch, then a granola bar or something to get me home, then a workout and dinner, then maybe a snack. By eating every few hours, I feel I'm not as hungry.
I started calorie counting about a year ago. I went from 160 to about 135 or 140. I kinda let myself go, and returned to 155. But my body doesn't feel like it did when I weighed 160. So I started calorie counting again and keeping track of everything I eat by using a website. I've been doing real well so far.
So ... here it goes:
Stats:
Age: 24
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 153.8 .. This was good, because I last weighed myself a month ago, and was at 155, so i lost a pound or so.
BMI: 25.66. I'm right on the cusp of normal and overweight
Food for day:
1 nectarine and 2 peaches - 182
8 strawberries with sugar & choc sprinkles - 195 (i could've skipped the sprinkles, but they were oh so good!)
19 Wheatables crackers & 1 oz. of low fat cheddar cheese - 185
FiberOne strawberry yogurt - 50
FiberOne bar - 140
Mixed salad with cucumbers & tomatoes, with olive oil and vinegar and salt & pepper - 50
Thin cut pork chop with BBQ sauce - 161
1/2 cup of brown rice - 117
Fortune cookie - 30
Banana - 105
So according to my website, I'm up to 1214 calories for the day. I may have one of my sugar free rice pudding snacks, for 60 calories while watching Gossip Girl. Those are my favorite desserts - they taste so good.
I also did a workout on the elliptical. 25 minutes at levels 1 & 2. I did about 10 minutes on level 2, then went down to 1, then went back to 2. I did ab work yesterday, so I took a rest, and will do ab work tomorrow after the elliptical.
That's about it ...

Hooray, another journal! :pompom:
I  those rice puddings too. DH eats the tapioca ones, but I like the rice. That, and the new boston cream pie ones - those are great. YUM! :)

I just finished my rice pudding. Mmm it was so good! :) I have a banana cream pie one too in the fridge, sugar free of course. For 60 calories, they are way too good.
So that puts my total calories for the day to 1274, or around there. Really good today, hope I can do that well the rest of the week.

You're doing awesome. :jphappy:
I like that we're all keeping journals - we have people to be accountable to - keeps us all honest...:winktongue: We're not in alone...!
yam102284
09-14-2009, 09:29 PM
Exactly! That's why I'm doing this! I have to be accountable to other people, not just myself or FH. Hopefully I'll make better food choices (like tonight - no ice cream, banana instead) if I have to keep track and voice what I eat. I'm hoping.
My goal is to look better for the wedding/honeymoon. More so for the honeymoon, so I can look hot in a bikini. Never worn one, besides when I was a little kid, so I'm hoping I can make it, especially since we're going to Florida for the honeymoon. :D

09-14-2009, 09:35 PM
Maybe you should tape a picture of a bikini to the fridge...:) You can do it - you've got plenty of time to get bikini ready. And we'll root you on. ;)
Good job on starting a journal. When I did one on here it really helped a lot. I'll probably start it up again after my pregnancy. Good job on the banana instead of ice cream! :bbmrgreen:

Thanks Keely! I really think this is going to help me stay true to what I want to do :)
*****************
I did pretty good today, food and exercise wise. I worked out when I got home, and the workout pretty much kicked my butt. I did the elliptical on level 1 until about 10 minutes out, then went to level 2, then back to 1, then I went to level 5 and worked my way down until I was done. Then I did 22 sit-ups and 10 leg raises. It was a great workout, and I felt real good afterwards.
Food for today:
1 nectarine and 2 peaches
1 banana & 1 serving of dry honey bunches of oats w/ strawberries
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
1 serving Wheatables crackers
1 Yoplait Yoplus yogurt
FiberOne oats & choc bar
grilled cheese
3/4 cup macaroni with butter
large salad with tomato and cucumber
rice pudding
So according to my website, my calories out to about 1420 for the day. Which is still good, at least I didn't go over the 1500 mark.
********************
I know I probably won't be working out tomorrow. I've worked out three days in a row, and I try to give myself a break every three days or so, just to give my body some rest time.
So we'll see how my food goes tomorrow.

Yay! Another good day. :jphappy: I'm jealous of your elliptical. I wish I had one in my house. That would be so awesome!

Thanks Gwen! I  my elliptical. It was definitely worth the amount of money I spent on it. The only thing is my feet fall asleep and hurt when I get like 10 minutes into it. I've searched for things that cause that, but all I've found is that a lot of people have that problem. It's such a good workout though.

Yep, my feet do the same thing. I have no idea why either. I just try to shake them out every ten minutes or so.

So I didn't do as well today as the past few days, but still okay.
1 nectarine & 2 peaches
1 pear
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
1 serving Wheatables crackers
1 Yoplait YoPlus yogurt
1 bowl Panera broccoli & cheddar soup
1 serving sourdough bagette
1 serving whole wheat bagette
1 chocolate pastry
Even though I did have the chocolate pastry and the 2 pieces of bread, I still only came out to around 1550 calories for the day. Which is still very close to what I want to be eating. I'll be able to go back down to 1200 or around there for tomorrow, as FH won't be home till late so I'll be eating dinner by myself. I'll probably have 1 or 2 large salads for dinner.
Didn't workout today. I worked late, then we had to go out when I got home, hence the Panera for dinner. I'll workout again tomorrow, and on Friday and Saturday. I'll probably do the whole level 5 and work myself down thing again. It was a great workout. I do walk a lot at my job, so it's not like I didn't do anything today. I'm on my feet all day, so at least it's something.
gwenshack
09-16-2009, 10:01 PM
Yeah, I love a good interval workout! :jphappy: It totally keeps your body guessing.
I've never had Panera Bread...I'm such a breadaholic that I think if I go in there I'll never come out...;)
yam102284
09-17-2009, 04:37 AM
I love Panera bread. Their baguettes are sooo good, especially if they are fresh out of the oven when they give them to you. I was gonna have the soup in a bread bowl, but they were all out. Those are good too. I guess it's for the best though, cause I saved myself a few hundred calories not having the bowl, and instead got to have the yummy chocolate pastry :D

Mmm...Panera! Yum! Good thing we don't have one here where I live!
You are doing great! Calorie counting is one thing I really need to do but just haven't gotten the motivation to really commit to it yet. But hey, at least I'm exercising and at least thinking about what I'm putting into my body. I didn't even think twice before.

Thank you! You're doing good too! Exercising and just watching what you eat are great! If you can add calorie counting into the mix, it'll be real good! I actually feel better now that I eat several small meals a day. I'm not as hungry like I was before.
****************************************
So I got home from work early today. I had a doctor's appointment, so I had to leave work early, which meant I got home early. Woohoo! :p
So far today ...
2 peaches & 1 banana
1 serving honey bunches of oats w/ strawberries
1 serving Wheatables crackers
1 can Campbell's Select Harvest Light Italian Vegetable soup - 100 calories for the whole can! Love this soup!
Crystal Light lemonade
So I'm up to about 575 calories for the day. Which is awesome! Now I gotta figure out what to have for dinner since I got all these calories. Maybe egg salad on toast or something like that with a big tomato and cucumber salad. Just don't wanna ruin my calories for the day eating more than normal.
Now I gotta peel myself away from the computer for some elliptical time :yesnod:
gwenshack
09-17-2009, 04:07 PM
I like that soup too! There's also a V-8 soup (those ones in the green boxes) that is a broccoli soup that has a pretty low calorie count and it's DELICIOUS!
You're doing so awesome. Enjoy your extra calories...:cool3:
yam102284
09-17-2009, 08:21 PM
Oooo, I'll have to look out for those at the store. Thanks Gwen!
So after I got my butt off the computer, I did 25 minutes on the elliptical. 20 minutes at regular level 1, then 5 minutes starting at level 5 and working my way down. It was killer on my legs, but felt good. Then I did lunges, squats, and some arm exercises with my weights. Tomorrow I'll do situps again; FH wasn't home so I couldn't do them tonight. I need him to step on my feet while I do them. :p
For dinner I had egg salad with one piece of toast, and a regular salad with one tomato, one cucumber, and oil and vinegar. I just had a FiberOne oats and chocolate bar, and am about to have a rice pudding cup. After that, I'll be at roughly 1230 which is really good!
On to the next day tomorrow...

I did okay today. I really didn't want to work out today. I was tired from work, so I just wanted to veg on the couch and watch TV. But I knew I would have to post here, and that made me want to work out so I could say I did. This whole journal thing is totally helping me. I would've probably just skipped working out if I didn't have it. So I did 25 minute on the elliptical, doing level 1 most of the time, then the interval at the end. Then i did 50 crunches with my legs flat and knees bent, then 50 crunches with my legs in the air. I really wanted to do sit-ups but FH wasn't home yet. I did some side leg raises then stretched.
For food,
1 nectarine & 2 peaches
1 serving Wheatables crackers
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
1 Yoplait YoPlus yogurt
1 serving Honey Bunches of Oats w/ strawberries
(and this is the worst) half a frozen pizza (3 servings)
The pizza was the worst, which totaled 870 calories, but I also had very little to eat during the day. So my calories for the day ended up to be around 1475, give or take. Which is still below the 1500 mark I wanted to stay below. I won't give up my half a pizza. FH and I share a pizza while watching TV on Friday nights. It's sort of a ritual for us. But they're such small pizzas, that if I had 1 or 2 slices, I'd probably still be hungry. I don't feel bad about it, so that's good I guess.
One more day of watching what I eat and exercising, then I get a reward day. We're going to Cracker Barrel on the way to meet with the JOP on Sunday. So I'll be rewarding myself with some yummy food. :D

Ah journal peer pressure - it's the best! Glad you got your workout in today even though you didn't want to. See, you did it and now you get a great big gold star. Actually, I'll give you two! :star: :star:
Mmmmmm, Cracker Barrel. We don't have that out here. That's a fond memory of mine from road trips up and down the eastern seaboard as a kid.
yam102284
09-19-2009, 05:48 PM
Journal peer pressure is definitely the best! I didn't really want to work out today either. Just tired from the work week, and having to work today as well. So I did the Wii Sports Active and made my own workout, full of cardio, upper, and lower body exercises. It was about 30 minutes long, and it says I burned 180 calories. I felt pretty good after doing it. My legs were burning with all the running and squats and lunges I did.
Tomorrow I'll weigh myself in the morning. :crossfingers: I lost at least a pound or two.
Food for today, so far....
2 servings of Honey Bunches of Oats w/ Strawberries
Mixed salad with tomato, cucumber, oil, & vinegar
Yoplait Light banana creme yogurt
1 serving Wheatables crackers
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
So far, I'm at 600 calories for the day. Tonight's dinner is 400 calories a serving, so I'll probably have 1 1/2 servings, and another salad.
We'll see how I end up for the day...
yam102284
09-19-2009, 08:16 PM
So I had 1.5 servings of dinner tonight, which put me at an even 1200. I think I'm gonna have a rice pudding, and that will make it around 1260 for the day. I've done real well this week, so I won't be keeping track of what I eat tomorrow. I plan on splurging a little bit, with a soda, and maybe a chocolate bar. Plus Cracker Barrel for breakfast. :yesnod:
yam102284
09-20-2009, 07:42 AM
So I just woke up and weighed myself this morning .... and I weighed in at 151.4, with a grand total of 2.4 pounds lost :D I'm so happy that I at least lost two pounds; that what I'm aiming for to lose for a week. Now bring on the pancakes and eggs and bacon! Mmmmmmm!
This next week is gonna be hard, because we'll be going to my parents house Thursday night, so I may be able to squeeze a work out in on the Wii Active since they have it too. All day Friday I'll be at a work event in Connecticut, so no exercising or eating right, but I will be watching what I consume at least. And then we'll be staying in Connecticut at my grandmother's house. Saturday I think my grandmother will be making dinner, so no denying Grandma's home cooking! But we shall see how I do. I'll try and be good :crossfingers:

09-20-2009, 02:03 PM

Travel/being away from home is always what trips me up too. It's so hard to stay on course!

09-20-2009, 08:37 PM
So I got a workout in today. Did the elliptical for 25 minutes, then did 2 reps of 15 for sit-ups. Working my up on those!
Food for today (even though I'm not counting)
2 eggs scrambled, with 3 pieces of bacon
3 large buttermilk pancakes w/ cherry topping & whipped cream
mug hot chocolate
glass of Coke
Moose Munch chocolate bar
Salad w/ tomato
Crystal Light Lemonade
Friendly's Reese Peanut Butter Cup sundae (one of those little ones from the grocery store)
I guess it wasn't THAT bad. It could've been much worse I suppose. Back on track for the upcoming week though!

Mmmmmmmmmmm eggs and pancakes. :eat: That's a good morning! ;) (I'm a sucker for breakfast...)

09-21-2009, 09:44 PM
So I'm not sure how I did today food-wise, but I think I did pretty good. We had ribs for dinner, and I couldn't find anything online about how many calories were in them. I only had 2, so I think I may have done good...
3 peaches
1 c. Cheerios
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
1 serving Special K Multi Grain crackers
1 Yoplait Light yogurt
1 FiberOne mocha chocolate bar
2 ribs
1 mixed salad w/ tomato
1 serving candy corn (weakness)
1 Yoplait Delights Lemon Torte (mmmmmmmm)
I also did the elliptical for 25 min, plus crunches.
So I think I did okay....
gwenshack
09-21-2009, 09:54 PM
Seriously though, who doesn't have a weakness for candy corn?!? ;)
I tried to do an on-line browse for the ribs for you - but it seems to vary based on whether it's beef or pork and where you get them from vs. making them yourself, type of sauce, etc. I'd say you probably had 300 calories if I was to make a guess. :boggle: Why is it so hard to figure this stuff out sometimes?!?
yam102284
09-21-2009, 09:56 PM
Candy corn is sooo good! FH had to buy some when we were out the other day, so I've been good only eating 1 or 2. But I wanted a little more than that tonight LOL
Thanks for checking for me :) I say I had around that amount too. I looked at a couple places and things were just so off with their calories that I decided not to do it. Overall, I don't think I went over 1500 calories today, so that's a plus!
yam102284
09-23-2009, 05:40 AM
I was bad yesterday. I try not to let myself feel bad when I don't do good, but it's not so easy. I didn't work out yesterday. I was exhausted when I came home from work. I almost fell asleep on the couch, and then almost fell asleep watching Heroes with FH. I ended up going to bed at like 8:15, so I was definitely tired.
Then we went to Subway for dinner. I didn't feel like cooking, so we just got food out. I got a strawberry flavored water (sooo good, and 0 calories) a footlong turkey, no mayo, and 2 cookies. I know I went over 1500 calories, but I guess I'll try again today.
gwenshack
09-23-2009, 11:48 AM
Aww, don't feel bad! Sometimes life just takes over our best intentions. ;)
You're doing great, so don't make yourself feel bad!
yam102284
09-25-2009, 07:25 PM
Thanks Gwen!
I haven't been doing much of anything these past couple of days. Didn't watch what I ate yesterday or today. But today I really haven't had anything. A large mocha iced latte with hash browns and a pumpkin muffin for breakfast. Then I got to my work event, and had a root beer float, soft pretzel, and 2 cookies.
I'm at Mohegan Sun right now, in Connecticut. This place is huge. We're on the 19th floor. :notsure: I'm terrified of heights. I took a couple of pics of the view, and looked down and almost freaked LOL This place is awesome, but I'm exhausted. I was non stop entering orders for customers from 1 until 6:30. We were mucho busy! :p
I probably won't be starting my diet up until Monday. Give myself a break and not count the calories. I'll still try and make good decisions though.
yam102284
09-29-2009, 11:48 AM
So I'm trying to get back on track today. I was gonna start yesterday, but wanted another "eat what I want day." So I gotta be good for 4 days, before I go away again this weekend.
So far today, the only thing I've had to eat is 2 servings of Honey Bunches of Oats, dry. I'm thinking of having a soda with my lunch, cause I really need caffeine to wake me up. This whole morning I really haven't been fully awake; for some reason, I'm exhausted. So, with my cereal, soda, crackers, cheese, and yogurt for lunch, that would put me at about 700 for the day. I might have a quick snack after the dentist this afternoon, then hop on the elliptical before dinner....
gwenshack
09-29-2009, 01:45 PM
Sounds like a good plan for today! Hope the dentist is quick and painless. :yesnod:
I hear you on the eat what I want days. I want one!!! :yeah_that:
yam102284
09-29-2009, 08:17 PM
Thanks Gwen. The dentist was quick. I got home and worked out on the elliptical for 25 min, with the last 5 min being interval. I really did not want to work out today. I was feeling a little better after having some caffeine, but my arm was killing me. I had a mole removed for the 2nd time yesterday, and the part they took was quite large, so I need stitches, and they are throbbing!
Anyways, worked out, and it felt good. I forgot how it felt to feel good after a workout...
So for the rest of the day, food wise,
Dinner was 1.5 servings of pesto pasta (360) and a mixed green salad with tomato, and olive oil and vinegar. I just had a piece of the strawberries and cream banana bread I made yesterday (soooooooooo good!!) and I'm thinking of having a 60 calorie pudding cup. I'm thinking the bread was around 300 calories a slice; maybe less, but I couldn't find the calories online...
On to the next day...
gwenshack
09-29-2009, 09:04 PM
Hope your arm feels better!
yam102284
09-30-2009, 08:10 PM
Thanks Gwen! It still hurts, but not as bad as yesterday.
Today was an okay day. I needed caffeine so I had another Pepsi today. :bbconfused: I'm trying to not drink soda as much, but I've been feeling so tired lately that I need something to wake my up in the morning. I don't know what else to eat or drink to wake me up.
So I had ...
Pepsi
1 serving Honey Bunches of Oats, dry
1/2 slice of zucchini bread & 2 mini muffins
1 pear
1 serving Special K Multi Grain crackers
1 oz. Reduced Fat cheddar cheese
1 light cherry cobbler yogurt
1 serving cheerios
1 mixed salad with tomato
1 slice strawberries & cream bread
1 serving Nature Valley Nut Clusters (really good - 7 clusters/140 cals)
So a grand total of about 1400 calories today...
Also did a 25 min workout on the elliptical, and ab exercises on the floor
Still a good day though.
gwenshack
09-30-2009, 08:22 PM

They're VERY good! I love them! To me, they taste just like a regular cracker. I could easily eat half a box in one sitting. But when I eat just the serving size, which is 24 crackers for 120 cals, with my cheese at lunch, I find it does satisfy me. I'm not still hungry after lunch.

Okay, I gotta make this quick. I gotta try and sleep cause I gotta get up at 4 a.m. tomorrow. Usually I don't sleep well until FH gets home; he's on his way right now, from class.
I did the Wii Active as my workout today. 30 min, and it said I burned 175 calories. It was a good workout; lots of leg and arm exercises, and lots of cardio.
Food day, I ended up with about 1100-1200 calories. I'll make up for it this weekend though. I'm hoping to do good when I go away tomorrow night, but we'll see.

Back on track for today .. So far I've had about 1350 calories .. still room for a sugar/fat free pudding cup for a snack ..
1 serving Honey Bunches of Oats w/ almonds
1 serving Cheerios
Sprite
1 serving Special K Multi-Grain crackers
1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese
1 FiberOne yogurt
1 sugar free fruit in jello
Mixed salad with one whole tomato and cucumber
1 serving corned beef hash
2 eggs, scambled
1 piece of toast w/ butter
For exercise, I did 30 min. of step aerobics on the Wii Fit, plus one short run and the hula hoop. I also did some floor exercises for ab work...

So I had to have another soda today. I was wicked exhausted when I woke up, and had the hardest time driving to work today. I haven't had one of these days in awhile. I needed caffeine, so I got a Pepsi when I got to work.
So far ..
1 Pepsi
1 serving Honey Bunches of Oats w/ almonds, dry
So at 280 for the morning...
yam102284
10-06-2009, 08:30 PM
For the rest of the day, I had ...
Cheerios
2 mini choc muffins
1 serving Special K crackers
1 oz cheddar cheese
1 FiberOne yogurt
1 FiberOne granola bar
Large salad with tomato & cucumber
1 serving ravioli w/ 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce
toll house choc chip cookie ice cream sandwich
Aside from the ice cream sandwich, I did good. FH surprised with me with the ice cream, so how could I say no. ;) It's fine though. I ended up around 1650 for calories. I'm okay with it. I've heard if you yo-yo your calories, it may be better.
Exercise, I did 25 on the elliptical, and some ab floor exercises.
yam102284

Took a day off yesterday from working out. Relaxed and watched TV with FH, so it was nice. Also went astray on my diet, but not by much really. FH brought home steak tips to cook so I had a bunch of those and some artichoke dip.
1 serving frosted mini wheats
hot chocolate
1 sugar free jello with fruit
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving special k crackers
1 yoplait yoplus yogurt
artichoke dip & tortilla chips
7 small steak tips
I was real good during work, but then had a little extra for dinner. I would have to say I probably only went over my calories my a few hundred, so I don't think it was even that much.
I dont know how I'll do today. I think they wanna get breakfast out at work, and I haven't had my normal breakfast from the place in forever, so I may splurge and get it. And it's pizza night tonight. But I'll definitely workout though, since I didn't yesterday

I love breakfast out. That's my favorite meal to eat out...:hungry:

I love breakfast out too Gwen! It's sooo good, all the yummy eggs & pancakes & bacon. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
BUT luckily we didn't have breakfast out yesterday at work. They all got Dunkin Donuts, and I opted out, since I had to be good. So that saved a bunch of calories. So I had
1 serving frosted mini wheats
hot chocolate
1 bowl Campbell's Select Harvest soup
1 yoplait yoplus yogurt
1 90 cal granola bar
3 servings cheese pizza (ends up being half the pizza)
Even with the fatty pizza, it ends up being about 1500 calories. I knew we were having pizza for dinner, so I ate less during the day so I could still make the calories. And I did the elliptical for 25 and some floor exercises.
Now for today,
I've already done the elliptical for 25. And I'll probably do the Wii Fit at some point too and get more exercise in. I'm going to be good this weekend, cause I know next weekend will be bad (birthday! :D) because my best friend is coming down. I'll try and be somewhat good next weekend, but who knows how it'll be.
So far, I just finished my 1 serving of frosted mini wheats and drinking some water.
yam102284
10-17-2009, 09:36 PM
Didn't do so well the rest of the day. Only went over by a couple hundred.
Snickers bar
granny smith apple
egg salad w/ toast
2 lindt chocolate balls
Coke
1 serving Tortelli Tuscan Stew (loads of fresh vegetables with cheese tortellini, cooked in the crockpot. it was yummy.)
About 1700 for the day. And all I did was the elliptical. I wish I had done the Wii Fit but I didn't have enough time.
yam102284
10-18-2009, 08:09 PM
So I was doing good in the morning. Had an apple before doing the elliptical for 25 min, then some floor exercises. Then when FH got home, I made brunch, and made sure it was 500 calories for me. 1 glass of chocolate soymilk, 1 scrambled egg, 1 hash brown, 2 pieces of bacon, and 1 slice of toast, plain. I was doing good ... until we went to the mall. And they had Auntie Anne's pretzels. Mmmmmmmmm. I NEVER have those pretzels, and they're soo good. So I ruined it for the day. Ehh. I don't feel bad. I never have those things, so I wanted to indulge in them. And boy were they good. So I ruined my day, but only by a couple hundred though. I'll be back on track for the next 2 days, then going out to dinner with FH on Wednesday for my pre-birthday dinner (he won't be home on my actual bday) so I'll try and be good then.
Tomorrow's another day.

Good day today! It's soo much easier for me to control what I eat during the week at work, then when I'm at home.
For today ...
1 serving Frosted Mini Wheats, strawberry, dry
1 sugar free jello w/ fruit
salad made with spinach, tomato, and cucumber
2 servings Lite Raspberry Pomegranate dressing
1 Yoplait Delights yogurt
1 90 cal. granola bar - dark choc & cherry
1 cup spaghetti, with 1/2 cup cooked hamburg and 1/2 cup sauce
16 oz. lite chocolate soymilk
I was going to have a jello pudding, but thinking I'm going to go to bed soon. Been up since 4 a.m. and I'm getting pretty tired. So I ended up with about 1320 calories for the day.
For exercise, I did 30 minutes on the Wii Active, and 10 minutes of floor exercises. I had to skip a few exercises on the Active because my knee was starting to hurt, and I had to put my brace on in the middle of it. We'll see how it feels tomorrow and if I work out depends on that. I don't want to irritate it even more.

Yeah, 4 a.m. is not my preferred time to get up in the morning. But I had to be to work for 6, and had to leave the house by 5:10 to make it on time. I get up an hour early so I have time to wake up and get lunches ready for me and FH. But only two more days of this, then I have the rest of the week off! :D

10-20-2009, 08:08 PM
Another good day today! I know I won't be doing too well tomorrow and through the rest of the week and whole weekend. With going out to dinner and lunch and all that, I won't be watching what I eat. But it's my birthday, so I'm not gonna worry too much.
So, for today ..
1 serving frosted mini wheats, strawberry, dry
pepsi
1 serving Special K crackers
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 Yoplait Delights
1 90 cal granola bar
1/2 a pizza, but it was a thin crust; super yummy
salad with spinach, and a tomato, with olive oil & apple cider vinegar
8 oz. chocolate soymilk
So for today, it was roughly 1320 calories. I don't think I'll be eating anything else tonight. Probably heading to bed soon; 4 a.m. is gonna come way too soon.
For exercise, I switched it up a bit and did 50 minutes of Tae Bo. Wicked workout, and I think I'm gonna feel it tomorrow. :p

For today..
1 serving frosted mini wheats
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving special k crackers
1 yogurt
1 sugar free jello w/ fruit
1 bowl homemade soup (chicken broth, hamburg, diced tomatoes, summer squash, butternut squash, zucchini, noodles .. it was really good!)
1 serving frozen peaches
For a grand total of 1300 today. Good start for the week
And for exercise, 25 min of the elliptical and 25 situps.

Thanks Gwen. It was real nice to take a break and kind of eat whatever I wanted. I definitely splurged.
Today wasn't a good day though. Had about 1700 calories, which isn't horrible, but still over my 1500 amount. AF is about to show, so I've been craving chocolate and saltine crackers (odd craving for me) so I kinda gave in. Tomorrow's another day I guess.
I did do the Wii Fit for 30 minutes, 30 situps, and 10 minutes of running in place with the Wii Fit. At least I still worked out, even if I screwed up my eating...

Ugh. I'm having an off week I think. It's day 2 of not eating good. I feel so fat, but then I look at myself in the mirror and think "I don't look that bad." I don't know. Hopefully AF shows up in the next day or 2, so I can get on with this week.
I had one serving of frosted mini wheats, but then I had a couple pieces of snack size chocolate bars. Like the mini hersheys and reeses, that they give out for halloween. I had my 1 oz. of cheddar cheese and yogurt, plus my sugar free jello/fruit cup for lunch. A couple more pieces of chocolate, and then my 90 cal granola bar. 3 pieces of chocolate covered fruit (edible arrangements) and 1 Funny Bone (chocolate & peanut butter). A salad for dinner, and egg salad. My bad spot - almost an entire sleeve of saltines. Ugh. Now I'm feeling it. I don't know if it's because of AF or my lack of motivation this week; I just feel blah. I didn't workout tonight. Exhausted from work. But I'm gonna try and workout in the morning, and then again at night when I get home. And then I'll have a salad for dinner. I know I'll be having a large lunch. We're having meatball grinders for lunch at work, and I'm not missing those. We haven't had them in a long time, so I'm not missing them. I'll still eat a good breakfast and a good dinner, just have a little extra for lunch.

Ugh. It's horrible. Like, feel wicked bloated and fat, but when I look in the mirror, I actually kinda like what I see. It's been a long time since I could say that. I just need to work on toning up I think. I've lost a lot in my stomach, but it still looks a little pudgy. I think by toning it would look a lot better. I'll just keep pushing through and try to workout as much as I can, and really try to watch what I eat. I need to be able to say no to chocolate though. :yesnod:

That is a reason to celebrate! I looked in the mirror this morning, and I didn't look half bad. Just some toning, and of course cardio to keep it up. Maybe I'm being too hard on myself. I feel that if I don't eat right or exercise, all my hard work is gonna go down the drain and I'll gain it all back. I hope to be able to get back on track the next day or two with working out and eating right. I'm still eating my salads at night, so I'm getting my vegetables in; that's a plus!

So I knew yesterday would turn out not so good, with the meatball grinders for lunch, but it ended up not being horrible..
1 serving frosted mini wheats
1 large choc chip cookie
1 meatball grinder, six meatballs & 1 roll
ginger ale
yogurt
salad with tomatoes
2 servings frozen fruit
1 serving crackers
With a grand total of about 1500 .. So still below my limit, which is good
And did 25 minutes of the elliptical, with about 10 minutes of floor exercises
gwenshack
10-30-2009, 11:50 AM

10-30-2009, 04:50 PM
Yep. I calculated what I was going to have for lunch to see what I would be at around dinnertime. FH wasn't gonna be home for dinner last night, so I figured I'd be good and have a salad. And it was good too! And the fruit was a frozen blend from Dole with golden kiwi, papaya, mango, and pineapple. So good!
Today ... might be the same ...
1 serving frosted mini wheats
1 jello w/ fruit
1 serving chips snack mix
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving crackers
1 yogurt
So far, at 700 cals for the day .. and we're having pizza tonight. Although, I might forego the half a pizza I usually have, for only 1/4 of the pizza and a salad. We'll see though.
So, even though I look good to myself and look thin, I'm still fitting into my jeans. Like I wear anywhere from a size 10 to a size 13. I guess what I'm wondering is if you can be "thin" and still wear a jean that size. I guess even though I look at myself and think I look okay, it gets to me that I'm still a size 13 in some jeans...

That's what I figured, but I just hate that I wear a size 13. It depends on the material though. I have a size 7 capris that I can fit in, so as long as I can fit in those, i'll be happy ..
so for the rest of yesterday, I ended having 1/4 of the pizza, then half of another 1/4 of the piece for 670 calories. I had a mixed salad with tomatoes along with the pizza, and then had more yummy frozen fruit for dessert. For a grand total of around 1500 calories for yesterday..
So far for today, I've had my 1 serving of frosted mini wheats for 180 calories.

apple
3 oz. steak
2 servings french fries (i was so good with my calories i rewarded myself with 2 servings)
mixed salad with tomatoes
1 serving special k crackers
fat free hot chocolate
sugar free choc mint pudding
which put my calories at around 1350 for the day .. woohoo!
for exercise, 25 minutes of the elliptical, 30 situps, and some leg floor exercises

So I started off good today, and with intentions of being somewhat good, even with going out. But at the baby shower, I thought "light refreshments" meant crackers, chips, etc. that I wouldn't eat. No, there were small slices of thin crust pizza and coconut chicken. So i had one piece of chicken, and 3 slices of pizza. Then we went out to dinner and I had a yummy bubble gum rickey alcoholic drink from 99. It was VERY good; couldn't even taste the alcohol. I was good though, and substituted my fries for corn. But now I'm indulging in some ice cream. Back to the plan tomorrow though...

Food for today ..
1 serving frosted mini wheats
1 apple
a few mini candy bars (stupid halloween lol)
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving Special K crackers
1 bowl homemade chicken noodle soup
10 saltine crackers
1 toaster strudel, boston cream pie
I guess on a few things, like 250 cals for the candy, and 300 for the soup .. I think I was off on the soup .. But even with the junk, I still ended up with 1350 calories for the day .. And I'm about to go to bed, so no more eating for me!
And for exercise .. I did a 20 Jackie Warner 1 on 1 Abs workout, and then 30 minutes of a the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader bootcamp .. Both were OnDemand and both were butt kicking workouts .. I think I'm gonna feel it in my legs tomorrow ..
gwenshack
11-02-2009, 08:24 PM
More Jackie Warner! :bbtwisted: LOL
300 sounds right for the soup - depending on the amount of noodles and chicken and the size of the bowl of course. But even the fattiest bowl of potato soup I make has only 330 calories in it. You can't do worse than that potato soup...;)
yam102284

Very good day for calories. I'm way under my limit, more under than I'd like to be. But I'm going to bed soon. It's only 7:30 here, but I'm exhausted. Getting up at 4 a.m. is not good for me.
Food for today ...
1 serving frosted mini wheats
1 apple
2 twizzlers, 2 mini candy bars
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving Special K crackers
1 yogurt
1 90 cal. granola bar
1 bowl chicken noodle soup
fat free hot chocolate
1 choc mint pudding cup
For a grand total of about 1200 calories. I'm trying to aim for like 1300-1400 calories, because I know you should never go below 1200. But this should make up for my days, like Sunday, where I went way over my limit.
I was a lil sore from yesterdays workout, so I just did the Wii Fit with 30 minutes of step aerobics. I didn't want to do anything, but I still pushed through. Back to the elliptical tomorrow. FH will be gone for class, so I'll be alone. For some reason, I don't like doing it when he's home :p

1 Marie Calllendar's Pasta Al Dente Tortellini Meal
1 boston creme toaster strudel
For a total of about 1350
Exercise, I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, and 30 situps.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do today. Food I'll be good, but I don't know if I'll exercise. I was up half the night with FH. He needs a root canal done, and he was trying to put it off until January when he has his benefits, since he's already used up all his dental. Well, he's been up the past 2 nights with severe pain. I told him he needs to call the dentist today, and hopefully get something done about it. So, we'll just see what happens, and I'll see how tired I am this afternoon before I do anything.

Thanks Gwen. He called the dentist when he left work at 1. Well, they closed at noon. He called the emergency number since he was still in so much pain, and they lady called back and said they couldn't take him today. So, she called in a prescription for extra strength vicodin, and amoxicillin. Well, the vicodin really hasn't been doing anything for him. He's still cringing in pain sometimes. We tried calling the emergency number back, left a message, and no one has called us back. We'll see if they do. I just hope he can get a good night sleep, since he really hasn't slept well since Monday or Tuesday.
Anyways .. I didn't work out .. I was too tired when I got home. I plan on getting lots of sleep tonight, and working out at least once on the elliptical, maybe the wii fit or wii active too.
For food ..
1.5 servings apple jacks
apple
tiny piece of choc. chip pumpkin bread
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving special k crackers
yogurt
1 cup rotisserie chicken
2 servings potato salad
For a total of about 1450. I'm hoping to do good over the weekend. We have nothing planned so I'll be able to stay home and hopefully watch my calories.

A so-so day yesterday. I went over my 1500 limit, but not by much at all. I chose to go over it too, with dinner, so I'm fine with it. I have to vary my died because if I eat only around 1300 calories every day, I could plateau, so I read that if you vary, it's better.
Food...
1 scambled egg
1 piece of dry toast
1 serving potato salad
fat free hot chocolate
1 fiber one blueberry muffin
1 salad w/ tomato
20 cooked baby carrots w/ apple cider vinegar
1/2 a four cheese pizza .. this was my weakness .. approx 870 cals yesterday
For exercise, I just did 25 min on the elliptical, followed by 30 situps.

He's still in a lot of pain. The dentist called in another prescription for percocet, so that's helping him a little, but not much. I told him he should call first thing in the morning, and hopefully get right in. But he's all worried about missing work because they don't have another driver for deliveries. I told him his health is the most important, and the fact they don't have anyone else to drive is their fault, not his. He doesn't want to drive with this pain tomorrow, since he can't take the percs. He's gonna go into work and tell them about everything; calling the dentist, and how he might be late or even miss work tomorrow. Oh well, they'll have to cancel deliveries cause he needs to get this taken care of. One of the sales managers, who has nothing to do with deliveries, called when we were on our way back from the first florist. He was doing payroll and the fact that FH put in for a few sick hours to get himself up to 40, since he left early, was screwing up payroll. The guy was all like he couldn't do that and blah blah blah. Seriously, that guy is horrible and sticks his nose into business that isn't his. Hopefully one of the managers will be okay with him possibly being late tomorrow, cause I really want him to get this fixed.

Oh wow, I hope they're flexible with him! Hopefully the dentist will take care of him right away.

So we went to his work and the guy he talked to on the phone apparently didn't know he had a toothache until he said it on the phone, so he got his hours taken care of. And he let him know what was going on, and the guy was calm about it, saying that if he was late or they had to cancel deliveries, than that's what they would have to do. We were really surprised about it, cause usually they don't care if something happens, they care about their deliveries. So I'm happy they are being some relaxed about it. Hopefully he can get in first thing tomorrow and can figure out what's going on.

Bad day today, but I knew it was coming.
Didn't work out; too hectic with everything we had going on.
Plus we met a friend at Olive Garden for lunch, so that was badddd. I know I had over 2000 calories today. Between the chicken parm and pumpkin cheesecake, and the 2 breadsticks I had - way too many calories.
Oh well, I'll be on vacation next week, so I'll make up for it then. Hopefully I'll be able to do double workouts each day. I can't wait for vaca - 5 days to go!

Badddddddd day today.
Started off with bacon and sausage for breakfast (counter day at work) and ended with a whole pint of chocolate moose tracks ice cream  And no workout today.
I'll try for tomorrow, but I know I won't be able to workout on Wednesday, and probably will go over. My dad is coming up for work, and we always go out to dinner the night he's here, then he comes down to my work location the next day (we work for the same company) and we go out to lunch. So they'll be lots going over this week most likely. But I'll try and offset it next week since I'll be on vacation. Lots of fruits and veggies next week.

Better day today ..
1 fiber one muffin
apple
dole sugar free jello w/ fruit
small slice pumpkin bread
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving special k crackers
yogurt
granola bar
tgi fridays meal, broccoli alfredo
mixed salad, with tomato
jello choc mint pudding
For a total of about 1250.
Plus 25 minutes on the elliptical.
No workout today. My dad is going to be up, so I'll be meeting him right after work for dinner. I won't have anytime to workout. I'm gonna try to eat right, but who knows how that will go at the restaurant.

I didn't count what I ate yesterday, but still ate sensibly. I think I did okay, considering what I did eat.
fiber one muffin
apple
sugar free gelatin w/ fruit
blt on wheat, w/ chips
1/3 of my dinner from wed. night (5 cheese mac and cheese)
1 breadstick
mixed salad with tomato
2 handfuls pumpkin pie popcorn
with 25 minutes on the elliptical and 30 situps..

So I haven't great at all this week .. Gone over my calories a few days, and didn't work out as much as I planned. But being on vacation now, I plan on working out and eating as good as I can ..
So far for today ..
2 eggs, scrambled
1 piece dry whole wheat toast
yogurt
2 hot dogs, fat free, 40 cals a piece
mixed salad, with tomato, 1.5 tablespoons of Sun Dried Tomato Dressing, 60 cals per serving
So far today, I'm at 500. I'm gonna snack on fruit or veggies until dinner if I get hungry. I think I'm making Chicken & Biscuits for dinner, so I gotta save some of my calories for that.
And I've already done my 25 min on the elliptical and 30 situps today. Planning on doing the Wii Fit step aerobics later. Trying to get in double workouts for missing so much last week..

Change of dinner plans. FH wanted Chinese food tonight, so I gave in and let him get it. I just got some pork fried rice and crab rangoons. So I'll limit myself. I've been looking up how many calories in each so I can see how much I can have tonight without going over too much.
I'm gonna do the chicken and biscuits tomorrow though. I didn't have all the ingredients to make it tonight and didn't feel like going to the store today. It was rainy all day.
yam102284
11-15-2009, 08:29 AM
So we had Chinese last night. I had 3 servings of pork fried rice and 3 crab rangoons. I wanted boneless spareribs but decided against it to save calories. I ended up with 1800 calories, only going over by about 300.
Even with the bad job I did at exercising and eating right last week, I still managed to stay at 149 lbs. So I feel good about that. I ranged anywhere from 1800 to 2000 calories a couple days last week, so that may be how many calories I need to eat per day to maintain the weight I'm at.
For today,
I made apple pancakes and had 3 of them, for 300 calories, roughly. We are going out shopping today, so I won't be tempted to eat in the house. I'll just bring some water with me to drink in the car, and maybe a granola bar or something if I get hungry.
gwenshack
11-15-2009, 12:08 PM
So you had a little cheat week and didn't gain any weight? That's awesome! :yesnod: Glad you and FH enjoyed your Chinese food. Have fun at the mall! :)
yam102284
11-15-2009, 10:31 PM
Yeah, I don't know how that happened, but I'm hoping to do better this week and actually lose a pound or two.
Today, was an eh day ..
Had 3 apple pancakes for breakfast for 300 cals
We were out later than we thought, and got hungry, so we had lunch at D'Angelos. Had a small Thanksgiving Toasted grinder (mmmmmm) for 620 cals. Then we went to Bob's to look at couches and they have the Cafe there, so I had a couple choc chip cookies, for around 100 cals. Then I made chicken and biscuits (another mmmmmmmmm) for 600 cals, and had a sugar free pudding later for 60. Total of 1675. No workout today, we got home much later than we thought and I had to immediately start dinner.
I plan on doing the elliptical in the morning tomorrow, then relaxing, then going on a nice 2 - 2.5 mile walk in the afternoon. It's supposed to be in the high 50s, low 60s tomorrow, so it's going to be beautiful! So I'll get plenty of exercise to make up for today.
yam102284
11-16-2009, 03:05 PM
I've kicked my own butt today working out.. Let's hope I don't regret it tomorrow ..
I did the elliptical this morning, 25 minutes. And the some floor exercises. Then I went for a 2.75 mile walk around 2. Just got back. I wanted to do more like a 3.5 mile walk, but halfway through my knee started hurting real bad, and I didn't want to push myself too much. My thighs and calves are burning! But I love it.
And for food, all I've had for today was 1.5 cups of my pork fried rice from Saturday night, and a cup of sugar free hot chocolate. I'm gonna eat something after my shower though, just got figure out what.

11-17-2009, 08:40 PM
Another double workout day today .. Did the elliptical for 25 min, crunches and twists, then the Wii Fit step aerobics and leg exercises later in the day. No walk today; dinner was going on the stove all day so I couldn't leave the house. I'll be walking to the post office tomorrow, then continuing on with my walk. Hoping to do 3.5 miles tomorrow, depending on how my knee feels.
Food today; went a little over, but that's cause FH brought home a soda for me.
hash brown
toast w/ butter
sugar free hot chocolate
mixed salad w/ tomato & lite salad dressing
white rice w/ cheddar cheese
corned beef
cabbage and carrots
cherry coke
choc mint pudding
Total of about 1675 .. FH won't be home for dinner tomorrow, so it'll probably be a good day for food tomorrow.
yam102284

Only worked out once today .. 25 minutes on the elliptical, and 30 situps. After FH called me and told me he didn't get the apprenticeship, I wasn't in the mood to workout anymore....
food was okay,
2 scrambled eggs
1 hash brown
sugar free hot chocolate
1 cup white rice w/ cheddar cheese
granola bar
gushers fruit snack
mixed salad w/ tomato & lite dressing
lean cuisine turkey & apples
hot apple cider
grand total of 1360 so far. don't think i'll eat anything else tonight.
tomorrow i won't be able to watch what i eat. i have training at work and they'll be providing lunch. i have no idea what it is, so it's kinda hard to plan what to eat.
yam102284
11-21-2009, 04:02 PM
So, i haven't updated in a couple days ..
Thursday - didn't watch what i ate or exercised. Training at work and pizza for lunch does not do good with watching what i eat. Hello 4 slices of pizza.
Friday - okay .. did 25 min on the elliptical and 30 situps, then did a 4.4 mile walk in about an hour. My legs were burning yesterday, but I felt good today. For food ..
apple toaster strudel
granola bar
salad w/ tomato and lite dressing
another granola bar
1/2 a cheese pizza
another granola bar
i had an intense craving for chocolate and the granola had a little choc in it .. total for yesterday was 1581 ...
***************
today, i did the dallas cowboy cheerleader workout .. and 15 situps ..
for food ..
toaster strudel
italian wedding soup
1 serving special k crackers
i know i may go over a little .. we're going to the movies (new moon!) and we'll have popcorn and soda and prob candy .. but oh well .. we almost never go to the movies so a lil treat is good ..

Well, I definitely went over last night .. I was well over 2000 calories .. Eh, whatever ..
But I got on the scale this morning, and I lost another pound. Down to 148. This is the way I want to keep losing. A pound a week or every other week is good. I was losing like 3-4 pounds a week last time I tried this, and it came back fast.
I went over today, but I'm dealing with insane cramps and backaches right now .. I never get cramps or backaches that are this bad before AF, so I'm hoping it's due to starting a new pill a few months ago .. We shall see ..
For food (it's really bad)..
90 cal granola bar
coke slurpee
cheese and spinach taquito
candy bar
mac and cheese w/ hamburg
salad w/ tomato & lite dressing
ice cream ..
Was at 1875 cals for the day .. Hopefully these pains will subside tomorrow and I'll do good ..

Thanks Gwen! As much as they hurt, it was a good reason for FH to give me a backrub! :p
Oh! And I forgot to mention my new favorite dessert. Jello has these Mousse Temptations. They are chocolate mousse, and they're only 60 calories. I had one yesterday when I was making dinner, and oh my goodness, are they good! I think I might like these better than my chocolate mint pudding. :yesnod:

It's so good Gwen! Definitely my new favorite.
I didn't really do anything today. Didn't workout, didn't watch what I ate. Hopefully (:crossfingers:) after AF comes, I'll be able to have the energy to workout. And not want to eat everything in sight. It felt like I had a never-ending stomach today. I bought some popcorn from a co-worker for his son's Boy Scouts a few months ago, and it was like caramel, white chocolate, and milk chocolate. Ummmm, yeahhh, I ate like half the tin .. but it curbed my chocolate craving. I probably gained like 5 pounds, but I'll do something about it in the next few weeks on my vaca days.
Onto tomorrow ...

So I'm totally giving up on food for the week. Between people bringing in desserts to work and Thanksgiving on Thurs, I'm giving up until Friday.
That and I wasn't able to workout today, and won't be able to tomorrow or Thursday as we're leaving town. I'll get my butt in gear and hopefully start fresh on Friday or Saturday. I'll probably gain like 10 pounds, but I'll work it off. :yesnod:

Alright, well I gotta get back on track, for at least the next two days. Friday will be lunch with my parents after a meeting with our venue. And we may eat out that night. So Friday might go out the window ..
But for today ..
2 cups corn flakes
1 serving Special K crackers
1 Oreo
1 frozen vegetable mix
2 pieces of toast w/ butter
1/2 can baked beans, with 1 hot dog
So far, I'm at 1150 for the day .. I'll probably have a couple more Oreos then call it a night. So I'll make it under my 1500 limit.
I also did the elliptical for 25 min and 30 situps...

So I ended up having 1/2 cup of ice cream last night, to put me at about 1300 for the day ...
*********
Today I've had 2 cups of corn flakes so far, for 280 calories. I'm gonna try and be real good, so we can have pizza for dinner tonight, and still have me be within my calorie range.
It's supposed to be like 65 degrees today! So I may take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a walk. Not my super long 4.5 mile walk, but the shorter walk. I think it's still like 3 miles so it'll be good.
yam102284
12-03-2009, 04:04 PM
So I think I'm gonna go over today .. oh well .. i tried
i had a piece of toast w/ butter .. then half a can of baked beans w/ a low cal hot dog .. for a total of 750 today .. if we have pizza that'll be like 800-1000 calories .. 1800 isn't THAT bad i guess ..
for workouts .. i did the wii active for 35 min, which it says i burned 170 calories, then 35 situps .. i'm trying to increase my situps so i can do more .. and i just got back from a 3 mile walk .. it was so beautiful today, i had to get outside and do something ..
yam102284
12-08-2009, 04:54 AM
Haven't been doing as well as I would like, but still okay I guess. I did the elliptical for 25 min, and the 15 min power ab workout.
For food, that's where its tricky. We had a Christmas party at FH's aunts house on Sunday, where there was a cookie swap. Which I means I have to bring cookies into the house. But, I've been doing okay, have 2-3 a day. So minus those ..
1 cup dry cereal
1 serving Special K crackers
yogurt
bbq pulled pork
3/4 a can of corn
on top of that, i had the cookies. I guess as long as I'm good on the working out thing, i'm semi-okay with the cookies. i don't know if i'll be working out tonight - it's so hard to work out when i get home, since i had to get up a 4 a.m. this morning, and all i wanna do when i get home is relax .. so i plan on doing double workouts the rest of the week ..
yam102284
12-10-2009, 09:17 AM
Yesterday wasn't too bad food wise ..
I had leftovers for breakfast .. It was 500 cals, and a quiche type food. It had eggs, stuffing, ham, and cheese in it. Very filling.
Then I didn't really eat a full meal until dinner. I snacked on trail mix all day, but it wasn't even that much. Maybe 1-2 cups. It was just small handfuls. Then I had some BBQ pulled pork for dinner, another leftover. I had a few cookies here and there in the day too.
I also worked out twice. I did the Wii Sports Active and 36 situps in the morning, and did the Jackie Warner Power Burn workout in the afternoon. My thighs and butt still burn this morning. I'll have to do some super stretching before the elliptical today.
yam102284
12-11-2009, 10:11 AM
Yesterday wasn't bad either. I snacked on trail mix & a few cookies all day, then had egg salad w/ toast for lunch .. And I didn't eat dinner. I smelled what it was and felt sick, so I didn't eat it. I also worked out twice. Did a 20 minute ab workout, and 25 minute on the elliptical. I could barely move my legs after that. The power burn workout from 2 days ago really made me sore.
I'm thinking today will be a rest day. I've been doing double workouts for a couple days, so I need a break. If I do anything, it'd be the Wii Fit step aerobics. We'll see how my legs are feeling.
yam102284
01-04-2010, 08:21 PM
Alright, time to get back on track. I probably gained 5 pounds or so during the holidays. I weighed myself this morning, and I was up to 157. Ugh. So, time to fight temptation and eat healthy and workout more.
For today ..
2 bowls of ocean spray cranberry oatmeal (ate at diff times during morning)
1 serving Special K crackers
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 yogurt
1 granola bar
4 oz. ribs, cooked in bbq sauce in crock pot
1/4 cup brown rice
3/4 can of peas (at least it was a veggie)
glass of kool aid
for a grand total of 1458. woohoo! stayed under 1500.
For a workout, FH got me the More workouts for Wii Sports Active disc. I love it! I'm doing the 6 week challenge right now. With my workout days on that being Mon - Thurs. When I have weekends free, I'll do the elliptical on sat and sun, with fri being my rest day. It said I burned 180 cals today on the Sports Active, tomorrow it says it will be less, but my body will prob be aching anyways :p

It feels real good! I just wish I had more energy to do the elliptical, instead of the Wii Active. I don't know what it was, but after lunch, I just wanted a nap. I was exhausted for some reason.
I'm getting FH on board with the whole working out thing. I'm trying to get him to eat healthier too. We're going to have a fruit or veggie with dinner almost every night, and I'm trying to get him to watch what he eats. He does delivery for work, so he stops at gas stations a lot. I'm trying to get him to cut back on the Combos, chips, etc. He did the Wii Fit step aerobics today. Just stepping in place. I told him he could do that every day for a workout if he didn't want to do the elliptical. It'll be a good motivator for me though, because if I don't want to work out, then he won't either.

Yeah, I hear you. DH went on a health kick at the same time I did in August and it was great because we made better decisions as a couple as to how to spend our free time together. Whereas before all we would do would be go out and drink...which is just a big sit down calorie consumption. Grrrr. Hopefully he'll hop back on the wagon with me...he starts his school semester next Monday so I'm giving him leeway til then.

glass kool aid

And for the workout, i did the wii active .. it was a good leg and cardio workout!

yesterday I ended up with about 1450 for the day ..
today on the other hand, who knows .. I think I'm still below my 1500 calories though ..
FH stopped and got me breakfast on his way down to class. He wasn't going to come by my work, but stupid me took the wrong ipod off the table, and he had to have his ipod for the 2 hr ride down. So he stopped at Einstein Bros Bagels and got himself some breakfast. For me, he surprised me with Double Chocolate Chip Bagel Poppers. O.M.G. They were amazing. They were chocolate chip bagel pieces, covered in chocolate. Totally not good for my diet, but so totally yummy. I guessed at 500 calories maybe for those things. I may have counted high, but its better to be high, for me.
Rest of the day was better. Had the 1 oz of cheddar cheese and 1 serving special k crackers along with yogurt. 1/4 c. granola before my wii active workout. Then 2 servings of minute brown rice with cheese with a glass of kool aid. I'm at 1450 for the day, if my calories were right, give or take a few.

Ok those chocolate chip bagel things sound AMAZING. :boggle: I'm in love with the description alone!
I had a huge Mexican lunch today because of my DH. Don't we diet FOR these people? Yet they're also the ones that feed us. Huh...:boggle:...I just realized that. It all comes around full circle. :frantic:

Yeah, they bagel things were really good! I had a bunch and was in heaven. As soon as he pulled them out of the bag, I was like "I can't eat these!" He said yeah I could. But how could I turn down such a sweet gesture. :p
And Mexican sounds sooo good!
Today, well, I'm thinking it's going to be a Pepsi day. I'm exhausted and need some caffeine. If I have 1 soda and 1 packet of oatmeal, I'll be at the same calories as if I had 2 bowls of oatmeal.
yam102284
01-14-2010, 07:58 PM
Today was actually a good day
Pepsi
1 bowl oatmeal
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving crackers
yogurt
granola
dinner was a recipe called ham and cheese stuff n puff. it's wicked yummy. Has broccoli, stuffing, eggs, sour cream, milk, and cheddar cheese. it's kinda like a quiche. 1/4 of it was 540 calories, so that's what i had. Total for today was about 1325.
Workout was the wii active again ... I skipped Monday, so unless I can do it tomorrow, I'll prob rest tmw. Then the elliptical on Sat and Sun ..
yam102284
01-15-2010, 08:13 PM
I didn't do well today .. It was the breakfast that hurt me ..
mocha iced latte
jelly donut :bbred:
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving crackers
yogurt
1 cup orange juice
black olives
1 sm red and green pepper, with apple cider vinegar
1/2 a pizza
another cup of oj
About 2000 calories for the day .. I'll be better tomorrow. I bought the peppers and some oranges today at the grocery store. I plan on bringing 2 oranges to work tmw morning so I can eat those for the 4 hours I'll be there. Then having some peppers when I get home. I have seriously been craving red & green peppers in vinegar! I started eating them and it tasted soooo good. Better than craving the bad stuff!
No workout today, but doing the elliptical tomorrow!

An okay day today ..
2 oranges (1 every 2-3 hours I was at work)
coke
black olives
4 mini cheese burgers
3/4 cup brown rice
1/2 can creamed corn
hot chocolate
1 c. plain popcorn
granola bar
Overall, about 1475 calories for the day ..
I also did the elliptical for 25 min, and 12 situps.

Let's see ..
Sunday, had about 1800 calories. Not mad about that, I had about 3 glasses of orange juice so that takes up a lot of it. I really didn't eat that much that day. I didn't work that day either. I was really run down for some reason, and even though I slept like 9 hours Saturday night, I took a 2 hour nap on Sunday ..
Today, had about 1400 calories. Did much better with my food, and stayed within my calories, even with a pepsi and a donut after lunch. Don't know how I did it but I did. Did the Wii Active today for my workout ..
Oh yea .. and the awesome news .. i weighed myself Sunday, and I was at 153. Yay for me! :confetti: Hoping to see the same results, or even 1 or 2 pounds lost this week!

Thanks Gwen. You have no idea how happy I was to see I lost weight last week, let alone that much weight.
This week, well who knows ..
I didn't work out today .. I've been way too crampy, irritable, and just plain down for me to do anything remotely workout-ish. I just wanted to crash on the couch with FH when I got home. So that's what we did. We ate dinner and watched Heroes together.
Food for today ..
donut
orange
1 oz. cheddar cheese
1 serving crackers
yogurt
root beer
1.5 belgian waffles with sugar free all fruit spread
4 slices turkey bacon
glass of kool aid
for today, i'm at about 1350 .. don't think i'll be eating again, since i'm probably going to head to bed early tonight ..

Yeah, I just didn't want to do anything, but sleep. I think part of it was the weather. It's the second day that it has snowed. I'm just so sick of snow right now. I think I may be getting sick too. I woke up with a sore throat, and it went away, but I just felt blah all day. I'll be heading to bed real soon, to catch up on some sleep. That's probably one of the only things to make me better right now.

Yesterday was good. I ate about 1200 calories, and not bad stuff either, besides a soda a lunch. No donuts or other stuff yesterday. And I did my Wii Active workout.
Today, will be no workout, and hopefully semi-okay on the food. I have a customer meeting to go to after work, and it's at a bar down the street from my work building. Sooo, we'll see how I do. The good thing is I won't be drinking alcohol since I gotta drive home, so I won't have any of those unwanted calories.
yam102284
01-22-2010, 08:19 PM
So yesterday, wasn't that bad of a day. I did have 2 sodas, but the rest was water. I didn't do too bad at the customer meeting. Had some pigs in a blanket, a few mini egg rolls, a couple meatballs, one chicken finger, and that was it. I left early cause i felt like trash, so I missed the big dinner. But I did stop on my way home and got some ice cream and orange juice, since my throat hurt so bad.
Today, I still feel like trash. My throat hurt and I was coughing almost all day. I'm feeling a little better now that its nighttime. I had some desserts that were leftover from last night. Then a can of soup and yogurt for lunch. And we just had pizza for dinner. And a granola bar for a snack. I drank water all day though.
I didn't workout today. This morning, while I was at work, I got the worst back pain I've ever experienced in my life. I was almost doubled over in pain, it hurt that bad. And I have a high tolerance for pain, so if it hurts, it REALLY hurts. I don't know what it was. It was in my upper back, right in the middle. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain, or have to leave work and go to the ER. But as quickly as it came, it was gone in like 10-15 minutes. I can still feel the remnants of it, so I didn't work out today, for fear of doing something else to it.
Workout tomorrow though. Not sure if I'll do good on the food. FH and I might be getting breakfast out, since he's going to be hanging out with me at work for a bit. But I'll try ...

So, even though I hardly worked out at all last week, and ate horribly a couple days, I still managed to lose 2 pounds. Don't ask me how i did that, because I have no clue. Now I'm almost back down to my pre-holiday weight.
No workouts or eating right today, or the weekend. I was feeling better Saturday and Sunday, and today I felt horrible. I'm stuffy, coughing all the time, and because of that my throat hurts. I also sometimes feel like its hard to catch my breath if I'm walking or doing strenuous stuff. I got some Robitussin, and told FH that if I don't feel better tomorrow, I'm definitely calling out of work. I went today, and shouldn't have.
Oh well, we'll see when I workout again ...
yam102284
01-31-2010, 06:22 PM
After a week of not working out or eating right, I should be back on the wagon tomorrow .. at least the eating part ..
I was sick all of last week. Horrible cough, stuffy nose, and just run down. I'm better now for the most part; I still wake up in the middle of the night from a coughing fit, but other than that I'm mostly good.
For the week, I ended up gaining 3 pounds, but I'm not too worried about it. I should be able to lose that, and get back to losing weight weekly fairly easy.

Thanks Gwen :) It was a horrible cold. I rarely get sick often, but when I do, I really get sick and it lasts awhile. I caught it from one of my coworkers. I even stayed home Tuesday, in hopes of getting better, but I don't think it really mattered. There is hope for you! FH still hasn't caught anything from me, or so he says. So you might not catch anything!

Good day for food and workout.
Workout was just the Wii Fit. I'm still getting coughing fits and coughing stuff up, so I don't want anything too strenuous. I did 30 min of the step aerobics, then situps and leg raises. The step aerobics was hard, because I have the riser for the wii board, that raises it up an extra 3 inches. And let me tell you, that 3 inches was killer on my thighs and calves.
For food ..
bowl of oatmeal
orange
hot chocolate
vegetable garden soup
yogurt
serving peanuts
orange chicken
green pepper w/ vinegar
choc mousse temptations (60 cals!)
For a total of around 1400. Good for today, on to the next day .. Gotta be good tomorrow, since Wednesday FH is taking me to lunch. Then my parents will be up on the weekend, so who knows how I'll be. I want my mom's homemade mac n cheese .. Mmmmmmm ..

1 serving special k blueberry, dry
orange
root beer
1 serving special k crackers
1 oz. monterey jack cheese
yogurt
6 oz (or so) ribs, slow cooked in bbq sauce
1 cup spaghetti w/ butter
1 cup low fat mint choc chip ice cream
for a total of around 1500 cals .. not bad .. if i didn't have that root beer i would've been under ..
tomorrow, fh is taking me to lunch at the mall before he goes to class .. i'll try to be good .. dinner won't be much, since he won't be home and i won't have to make something big
for a workout, fh and i did the jackie warner power circuit ab workout .. i warned him that she was evil, and i don't think he believed me before we did the workout .. afterwards, he was saying the same thing LOL
i wanted to do the wii fit, but my calves are still killing me from last night .. i didn't think 3 extra inches would make me hurt more, but it def did!

Bad Bad Amy ...
I was doing so good today staying below my calories .. But my cravings took over.
For the start of the day ..
1 cadbury creme egg
2 green peppers, with apple cider vinegar
1 serving special k crackers
1 60 cal choc mousse
1 pkg fruit snacks
steak
1 serving scalloped potatoes
half a can of corn ..
so i was at 1100 calories ..
Well, then I had intense cravings for chocolate. Like so intense that FH asked if I was pregnant (uh, no, definitely not)
So he went up the road to get me funny bones and snowballs .. that satisfied my craving but added another 800 calories to my day .. ****, and i was doing so good.
He was so cute though .. I told him I didn't want him to go up to the store, that I didn't really need that stuff .. And he said he was practicing for when I did become pregnant and he had to go out to get me things when i had cravings .. well, that and he really wanted something for himself too ..
On a positive note, I did do the elliptical today .. Woo hoo for that!

1 yoplait choc whips yogurt
dinner was a concoction of hamburg, macaroni, and stewed tomatoes
i guesstimated at about 600 cals, but it was probably lower

Tues and Wed weren't good days .. We went to Vermont for the night Tuesday night, and had Chinese food from a local place .. It was well worth the snowy drive there. I probably did okay on Wednesday, as I didn't eat much and we went snowshoeing in the backyard, through the woods, and through the field that's next door. It was a lot of fun, as we went with FH's mother and his 7 year old nephew.
So for today ..
1 serving lucky charms
apple
egg sandwich
2 green peppers w/ apple cider vinegar
yogurt
2 choc rice cakes (my new fav food!)
dinner was chicken w/ cream of broccoli and green beans
1 piece garlic bread
1 more rice cake
for a total of about 1500 .. even with the egg sandwich, i made it under my calorie limit (i think)

Aww thanks Gwen! I'm still doing okay. I bought a bunch of veggies and fruit yesterday when I went shopping. And I bought some hummus too! I bought the spinach and artichoke kind, and it is sooo good! And the best part - FH hates it, so I don't have to worry about him eating it on me! ;)
So yesterday I did a Jackie Warner ab workout. I definitely felt it this morning. For food, I had probably 1800 calories or so. Most of it was dinner (1/2 pizza, 1000 cals) but the rest of it was healthy stuff. Fruit, rice cakes, etc. I knew I would go over so I tried to be good the rest of the day.
For today .. I did 22 min of the elliptical. I was going for 25, but I was so out of breath that I had to stop. That and I did some more ab moves, from the workout I did yesterday. I'll probably do another workout later, maybe an ab workout or something.
For food ..
apple
3/4 cup granola
1 green pepper
2 stalks celery
2 medium carrots
1/2 serving special k crackers
1.5 T spinach and artichoke hummus
So far, so good .. dinner is corned beef, so I'll probably go over, but we'll see .. i'm not limiting myself on corned beef :yummy:

Yesterday I probably ended up at around 1700 or 1800 .. I had 2 rice cakes mid afternoon, then dinner was corned beef, cabbage, and carrots. I also had a juice, but that was 330 calories! I would've been better off with a soda. But it had lots of Vitamin C in it, so I guess that's a plus ..
*****
Today, I woke up and measured myself. 149.4! I lost like 1.5 pounds in just a couple days. I weighed 151 on Thursday morning.
I did okay today. For breakfast I had 1/2 cup granola, and some water. Lunch was Olive Garden. Andrew's aunt came down and took us out for a late birthday lunch. I did okay though. I had 1.5 breadsticks, 2 small helpings of salad, and some thin spaghetti with sauce. The thin spaghetti was only around 400 calories. I tried picking one of the things on the menu with the least calories. The only down side was I had 2 glasses of Dr. Pepper. Oh well. I figured if I can not drink soda during the week, I can allow myself some on the weekend. For dinner, we had a no cream creamy broccoli soup. It was really good. Only 160 calories per cup. I probably had 1.5 cups. And then I had some saltine crackers with it. If I get hungry I'll eat an apple or some rice cakes later.

for a total of around 1350. And I'm stuffed from the soup, and going to bed soon, so I won't eat again ..
It'll make up for tomorrow though. We have a counter day scheduled with a rep, and we're getting Panera for breakfast for the customers (and us) No doubt I won't be denying that.
Exercise was the Wii Active and situps afterwards

So I blew it today .. and I blew it goooodddd too LOL
For breakfast I had 1.5 Panera bagels w/ cream cheese. I knew I would have those, and wasn't too concerned. Lunch was 1 serving crackers, 1 oz. cheese, and a yogurt ..
Well, I screwed up dinner, and it didn't turn out good, so we got Subway instead. FH surprised me with 2 Reese's peanut butter eggs (mmmmmmmmmmmmm) and I got a soda too for dinner. Then he surprised me again and pulled out a canolli he got when he was out on deliveries for work today.
Sooooo, it wasn't a good day .. But I'm not too concerned I guess. I still feel good, so I'm not worried.
I had a good workout day though .. 25 minutes on the elliptical and the wii active workout ..

All I gotta say is .. a power outage at work and a highly stressful and busy day is not good for my diet ... sigh

02-26-2010, 11:11 AM
y'all don't have power yet? ugh! i was thinking as i was driving home last night that this would end up like last years ice storm and we'd be w/o it for at least a couple days b/c i was just watching all these electrical explosions along the spaulding... scary!
i hope your day gets better!
yam102284
02-26-2010, 11:37 AM
Ugh I know! They're calling it the ice without the ice. I'm at work in Manchester right now and we have half power. We think its an electrical prob though.
We never lost power at home. But concord, pembroke, allenstown, and hooksett all had no power. The drive in was bad. No street lights and trees down all over the place. I hit something with my car cause i didnt see it and dragged it underneath my car. Luckily it was just a cheap flower pot and I pulled it out.
Scary though. I thought something was gonna come through my apt window...

haha! same... i actually made FH move any valuable items away from our windows just incase b/c there's a line of tall trees behind us... and i swear some were almost horizontal last nite!
when i said to move stuff he looked at me like this:  and said i was being a bit ridiculous... but he missed the ice storm last year and since i've now experienced TWO ice storms, i just was having flashbacks i think lol

Yeah, I would've moved things away too. Just in case. I was actually sleeping, and I woke up at 11:30 and could not go back to sleep cause it was that loud. I thought there was gonna be a tornado or something.
I think this was worse than the ice storm. There were trees down everywhere on my way home. I couldn't really see the damage on my way in, since it was still dark, but holy cow, there were trees and power lines down all over the place. I got detoured in Manchester and had no clue had to get to the highway. Had to call my boss and have him direct me there LOL But I was on Route 3A in Hooksett, and there was a tree just resting on power lines, and another one tilted over the road. There are some HUGE trees laying on the ground too. I wish I had my camera ready and I would've taken pics.
We were slammed busy at work. I work in electrical sales and everyone wanted generators or generator parts. I worked 6-3:30 without a lunch. I probably would have worked later, but I'm going in tomorrow for 5 hours. Yay for overtime! That's the only good thing about this storm.

So I guess I didn't do too bad .. just had all the wrong food
boston kreme donut
pepsi
3 slices "greek" pizza (feta, spinach, tomato, olives)
and that's it .. i don't think i've had anything else .. water, and i'm gonna have some french fries before heading to bed.
we were just so slammed busy at work that i didnt have time to eat
and no workout - but i busted my butt at work today, and i think that counts .. i was on my feet all day, running around grabbing things for people. i'm exhausted and hopefully gonna get a lot of sleep tonight. I'm going in tomorrow, but i'll be straight OT so that'll be niiccceee :p
Gots lots of wedding stuff to do tomorrow after work, mostly invites, but i'm gonna plan on working out. I gotta do it, I gotta do it .. don't know how i'll do on food though ...

After a bad weekend food-wise, but a good weekend workout-wise, I'm back at it. I didn't lose any weight this week, but I didn't gain any either.
What made me feel good today, was that a customer asked "What's going on? You're getting skinny!" I didn't think it really showed at all, but I guess it does.
Food for today
oatmeal
apple
1 large green pepper
broccoli
2 carrots
1 serving special k crackers
2T hummus
yogurt
beef stew
5 saltine crackers
1.5 maple walnut scones
For a total of 1450ish .. Pretty good
And workout was the wii active .. it kicked my butt this time!

oatmeal
apple
leftover beef stew
yogurt
bbq pulled pork
elbow macaroni
rice cake
I don't think I went over 1500 .. My breakfast and lunch were right around the same as usual
Workout was the wii active
yam102284

Wow, so even with drinking a soda today, I ended up with about 1000 calories ..
pepsi
oatmeal
apple
leftover beef stew
yogurt
1/2 c. cottage cheese
3 carrots
1 40 cal. hot dog
yup thats it .. and i'm not even hungry .. i'm stopping at dunkin donuts tomorrow before work (i'm gonna need some caffeine) so i guess tomorrow will balance out todays food ..
workout was the wii active .. its getting harder LOL
gwenshack
03-03-2010, 08:40 PM
How's it getting harder? Does it keep track of what you've done and advance you? I've never used a Wii active - do you feel like you get a good workout with it? :)
yam102284
03-03-2010, 08:45 PM
I feel like I get a great workout on it! It has cardio and weight training as well. The game comes with resistance bands, but I use weights instead to give me a better workout.
I guess, how I feel its getting harder, is that there is more to a workout now then when I started. They are getting longer and there are more reps and everything like that. I'm burning more calories too; At the beginning I was only burning roughly around 150 calories, but now i'm burning around 200. I love it; I can definitely see an improvement in my hips and my stomach area. I think I have 2 more weeks left of the 6 week challenge.

Yep, that's the part I love about it. I know its not 100% accurate but it gives me a general idea of what I'm burning. It's not a lot, but its something. I do the elliptical on the weekends, when I'm on break from the Wii Active.
yam102284
03-04-2010, 06:23 PM
So I don't know how I did today, but I don't feel like I did that bad .. Even if I did, I had very few calories yesterday so it'll even out ..
small mocha latte
triple choc muffin
2 carrots
1/4 cup cottage cheese
green pepper
yogurt
1/3 of a box prepared chicken alfredo mix
1/3 can french green beans
If I get hungry, I'll snack on rice cakes later
No workout today. Ugh. I was supposed to do the Wii Active for the last day this week, but my right knee was acting up and throbbing. I got home and iced it, but it still hurt so I decided not to do anything. Instead, I got 98% of the invitations done!

Well, a weekend a bad eating, but it was a good weekend for exercise. Did the elliptical on Saturday along with 15 sit ups. And Sunday, did the elliptical and took a 3 mile walk with FH. Both ended with roughly 20 sit ups and some other floor exercises ..
Back at it today ..
pepsi
oatmeal
orange
3 stalks celery
1 small green pepper
2 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
1 cup angel hair pasta with sauce
2 slices garlic bread
So I'm at 1200 for the day so far ..
Workout was the Wii Active
yam102284
03-09-2010, 07:37 PM
Last night, after I posted, FH surprised me and brought home cannoli's .. Mmmmm .. but I was good during the day, so I ended up with right around 1500 ..
Today ..
pepsi
apple
1 serving special k crackers
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
1/2 cup cantalope
dinner was tex mex chicken with corn, salsa, peppers
garlic bread
that puts me at about 1400 .. don't think i'll have anything else, as i'm exhausted and am going to bed early ..
workout was the wii active .. wicked workout today .. my thighs and abs were burning ..
yam102284
03-10-2010, 08:12 PM
So .. the eating was sabotaged today .. by multiple people .. sighhhh
started off with half a chocolate donut .. okay, not the best, but i didn't have the whole thing .. and with FH not being home for dinner, i knew i would make up for it ..
then my co-workers went to a new burger joint that opened today .. called five guys burgers (dont know if anyone has one near them) .. and they had fries leftover, so i ate them (sooooooo good!) ..
lunch was 1 serving of special k crackers, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, and yogurt ..
then i went to the bank like i do everyday to make the deposit, and the lady behind the counter gave me some peanut butter fudge .. how can i turn down pb fudge .. it was amazing .. and i had like 3 pieces
then i got back to work, and one of my coworkers gave me a chocolate peanut butter thingy ..
dinner was 3 carrots, boiled with apple cider vinegar and a slice of garlic bread ..
and now i'm having some "apple crisp" .. sliced apples, microwaved with cinnamon and a little brown sugar .. with granola on top .. yummmm
not sure how i did .. but oh well .. i'll make up for it the next few days
workout was the wii active .. good workout today too

Yeah, they built one in Nashua, NH about 45 min from my apartment and we never go there, too far. But they built one in Manchester, the city where I work and only 20 min from home. I've heard they're wicked good. One of the guys who had it said it wasn't the best, but the other two said they were good. The fries I had were awesome, now I reallyyy want to try the burgers. I tried getting FH to stop there before coming to see me, before going to school, but he wouldn't lol

Of all the burger joints I've been to in my long life (almost 52) I have to say 5 guys is one of the best. the hamburgers are either 1 or 2 patties and you can have cheese and bacon or plain. Moist hamburger cooked when you order it. Loads of stuff you can put on it, rangeing from jalapinos, peppers, onions, lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketsutp, mustard, pickles... Let's just say RC gets them loaded. The Fries are to die for, I risk a diabetic coma once a month to have some. We get the large and share. Yes, the bags come out greasy, they fry the fries in peanut oil. A large fry is served in a jumbo strofoam cup and it is overflowing. We split the bag open and pour them out, sprinkle a little salt and dip in either vinagar or ketsup. they have peanuts in the shell to eat while you are waiting. I have another week to wait till I can have another. I need a bib right now my mouth is watering.

You had me drooling when I read this! I so want a burger now! Maybe we'll go Sunday when the FH's BW is visiting .. Sunday is my cheat day anyways ..
***********************
Today was an okay day .. could've been better, but I stayed right about my limit, even with the junk i ate
oatmeal
apple
1 green pepper
3 carrots
3 celery
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
bagel
1/2 homemade cheese quesadilla
2 40 cal. hot dogs
snow balls (FH bought me a surprise when he got milk. he has good intentions, just not for my diet)
So it rounds out to about 1550. Good for the food i ate ..
Unfortunately, no workout today. I stayed late cause one of my coworkers had a "family emergency" .. sighhh .. i'll do the elliptical this weekend though ..

I haven't had the burgers yet, but I really liked they fries. They were really good I thought. I have heard mixed opinions on the burgers. One of my coworkers thought it was gross, but the other one that it was good. I guess we'll see how I like it, when I finally go there LOL

2 scrambled eggs
10 med. strawberries
2 slices garlic bread
5 medium carrots, boiled with apple cider vinegar on them
1 thin pork chop, with bbq sauce
1/2 can peas
small baked potato, with sour cream
For a total of 1100 calories so far .. I'll probably end up at around 1200 for the day ..
Workout was the elliptical for 25 minutes, 30 situps, and some floor exercises
Tomorrow, is weigh day. Hoping to lose at least something. I feel like I've lost a little bit, my stomach looks smaller. And tomorrow is cheat day, as we're planning on going to Manchester with our best (wo)man and going to five guys .. mmm burger and fries ...

Aww thank Gwen! It's great knowing that even with 1 or 2 days of bad eating last week, I still lost weight. I can definitely feel it in my stomach and I've lost weight. My stomach just looks better. I'm so close to being bikini ready, or at least comfortable going swimming in a bikini.
So we had 5 Guys today for lunch. Our best (wo)man and her boyfriend came over and we went there. It was really good. The burgers were huge, and the fries were really good. We actually got an extra order of Cajun fries, even though we didn't originally order them. They were wicked spicy, but good. After all that food, I felt really guilty, so I worked out. I did 25 min on the elliptical and 30 situps, so now I feel better. Now to have some Tagalong ice cream while watching Amazing Race with FH, then headed off to bed. Another week of workouts and good eating, hoping to lose 1 or 2 more pounds this week!

Good day today ..
oatmeal
orange
pepsi
3 carrots
2 celery
1 green pepper
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
6 oz (or so) ribs
2 servings scalloped potatos
So far .. at 1300ish for the day .. Will probably have a low cal pudding cup or something .. maybe grapes
And workout today was the wii active .. burned 230 calories .. who knew I could burn that many on a video game!
jennybaby
03-15-2010, 08:26 PM
That's really 1300 calories? I eat about 1400 a day and I eat a LOT more than that.
Anyway sounds like you're doing good! Wii Fit is a really good workout. I wish I had Wii and Wii Fit!
yam102284
03-15-2010, 08:34 PM
Yep, according to fitday.com it is .. I estimated on the ribs in potatoes, but before dinner, I was at 660 ..
oatmeal - 160
orange - 70
pepsi - 160
cottage cheese - 45
yogurt - 100
then the various veggies ..
I can never get a correct amount with dinner. I put a scale on the wedding registry so hopefully that will help me. But i guess it hasn't done me harm yet. The veggies are the good thing that keeps me within my limit. Plus i feel good from eating all those vegetables. I dipped them in apple cider vinegar today and it was good!!
The workout I've been doing is the Wii Active. I think it's so much better than the Wii Fit! I actually get all sweaty and out of breath when doing it! Who would think that a video game would do that! And it's getting harder too!
************
So I had my pudding cup and a 10 cal serving of sugar free jello .. probably at around 1400 for the day! even with the evil soda!
jennybaby
03-15-2010, 08:42 PM
Hmm. I don't think the ribs and potatoes would be 1000 calories... that's a lot! My dinners are usually 500-600. Spark People has a very good tracker if you're looking for one. You can track your fat, protein, and carbs which are also important.
Anyway, awesome with the Wii fit! I love video games like that! I used to play DDR which was really great, too.
Pudding and jello sounds yummy right now but I already got about 1400 calories today. Plus, I don't like eating late. :bbconfused:
Keep up the good work!
yam102284
03-16-2010, 04:32 AM
Yeah I think I put the ribs and potatoes at like 700. I figure even if I'm under or over, it'll all even out at some point during the week. I don't eat the same amount of calories every day. One day I may have 1400, the next 1300, the next 1600 ... It all evens itself out at the end of the week though.
I'll have to check out sparkpeople. I think I signed up for it a little bit ago, but never really checked it out. Now I may have to go back and see what it's all about! :)

Ugh .. and today will start off with a pepsi unfortunately .. it's way too early and i didn't sleep well last night .. i'll need some caffeine when i get to work!
SkippyNXC

i'd say 700 sounds about right for a full serving of ribs and scalloped potatoes...
i've never been to the site you use but for awhile i used spark people religiously... sometimes it was GREAT and has the weirdest foods w/the calories n fat but if it doesn't have it u can always add it yourself... i also like the exercise plans they would build for you... you tell it what equipment you have access to and it tells u how to get a full body work out w/whats at hand...

Nope, definitely thinking the peanut butter bar is bad. It was one of those homemade dessert type things. With homemade chocolate on top. Yup, full of sugar and butter. But oh well, i'm fine with it. Mighty tasty too LOL
As for the soda, I don't drink it everyday; I drink mostly water. It's just days that I'm tired I need caffeine. Like this morning, I was up at 4 a.m. for work, and slept horribly, so I really needed something. I drink enough plain water during the day to make up for the soda though; I drink probably 4-5 24 oz. bottles of water a day. So I get my water servings in. I do like the water with fruit; Dasani makes a water sweetened with strawberry that is AMAZING! I may see if I can find those at Sam's Club and get a bunch for mornings. Maybe that'll help. I try not to drink soda as much as I can, but sometimes I can't help it.

So yesterday I ended up with 1540 calories. Dinner was Velveeta shells & cheese, with hamburg and cream of celery soup. I had a cup and a half and estimated to be at 540ish. Then dessert was a a moose munch candy bar; FH had to stop at the grocery store on his way home, and got me a surprise. It's my favorite candy bar, and I had the calories left, so why not. Super yummy.
Tonight he's not going to be home for dinner, so it'll be a good eating day today!
Yesterdays workout was the Wii Active and boy are my thighs killing me. They are so sore; yesterday was all about squats and lunges, but it feels good to be somewhat sore this morning.

So we'll use today as one of my cheat days. It would've been fine, but I went to lunch with FH today, so I went a little over my limit.
25 grapes
oatmeal
1/2 bacon turkey bravo sandwich from panera
1 cup low fat chic noodle soup from panera
2 oz. baguette
low fat mango smoothie
1 can baked beans
"homemade" mini apple crisp
So I ended with 1700 calories. Eh, that's fine. I can have a couple cheat days and be happy.
Workout was the Wii Active. My thighs, the top part, are so sore from yesterday. And today there were 3 diff exercises that had to do with squats. They weren't fun. But i do feel good.

I wouldn't even consider it a cheat day! Sounds good to me! My ranges are about 1500-1850 a day because I recorded that I burn 1500 calories a week. Really, I probably burn about 2000-3000, but I don't want to up my calories. I'm sure you burn quite a bit of calories!

Thanks Jenny! I guess I try to eat about 1500 calories a day. If I go a little over, I'm okay with it. I guess I did good; I picked healthier things on the menu. I would've got the broccoli and cheddar soup, but it was like 200 more calories and so not worth it. And the chicken noodle was actually really good!
I know, I probably burn a lot per day! I'm on my feet all day, walking back and forth pulling things for customers, so I probably burn a lot. Plus with the Wii and/or the elliptical means I burn even more.
**************
Today was a good day ..
25 grapes
hot chocolate
peanut butter bar
red pepper
2 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
1 serving special k crackers
hamburger, no bun, with a little bbq sauce
1 serving suddenly salad pasta
10 strawberries
jello sugar free pudding cup
Total of about 1522 calories ..
For a workout, I skipped the Wii today. It was absolutely beautiful out, so FH and I decided to go for a walk instead. It was probably a 1.5 mile walk in about 45 minutes. I took tomorrow off from work, so I'm gonna do the elliptical in the morning, then do a bunch of errands, then go for a super walk in the afternoon. I  beautiful weather and long walks!

Enjoy your long walk! :jphappy:
Thanks Gwen! It was a great walk. It was about 2 miles, in 45 minutes. I had to slow down a bit because I started getting cramps in my side, but I made it.
So i ended up with about 1500 calories yesterday .. After the salad I had some grapes, then I went out and ran errands. I got home and ate a chocolate covered marshmellow peep, and a banana, which I was then at 575 calories. I went for my walk and got home and just relaxed until dinner. I made homemade pizza last night, with mozzarella cheese and kalamata olives. It was sooo good with the olives. I had half the pizza, which I estimated at like 800 calories? I have no clue. Then ended the night with a pudding cup and a banana again.
I weighed in the morning, and it said I had gone up to 149. Not sure how true it was, because I forgot to do it first thing, and I ended up weighing myself after breakfast, which was a bagel and cream cheese. So, I won't worry too much about it. No dieting this weekend. Going to my parents house in a little bit, once FH gets out of work. So I'm not gonna worry about my food. I'm about to do the elliptical today, so at least I'll get my workout in.

Eh so I scratched the elliptical. I'm trying to help FH prepare for midterms he has coming up this week. So I made some flash cards on the computer for him. At least I was productive and did something besides sit and watch TV..

Soooo I had a good day today .. after a bad weekend and bad Monday .. I thought Monday would have been good .. but we had dinner out .. I had cleaned FH's car on Saturday, and put his 3 pairs of gloves in his console. Two of those he wears for work, and I forgot to tell him they were in there .. So he didn't have his gloves for work .. He wanted me to buy him dinner to make up for it, so I complied .. dinner last night was grinders and sweet potato fries ..
Today was about 1400 calories ..
30 grapes
1/2 cup Kashi Summer Berry granola (omg, so good!)
banana
hot chocolate
1 red pepper
2 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
pina colada yogurt
tgi friday skillet meal, firecracker sesame chicken
2 small slices french baguette
1.5 c. diced cantaloupe
Workout was the Wii Active. 40 minutes, with 230 calorie burn, according to the Wii. Tomorrow is the last day of my 6 week challenge .. After that I'll be alternating between the elliptical and my custom workout on the Wii Active!

I ended up with about 1600 calories today ..
30 grapes
1/2 c. Kashi Summer Berry granola
hot chocolate
1 red pepper
2 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
can of baked beans (if I had known they were 630 cal, i wouldn't have eaten the whole can)
1 low cal hot dog
2 small slices french baguette
1 cup cantaloupe
Workout was the last day of the 6 week challenge on the Wii Active! I'll do the elliptical tomorrow and over the weekend, then do the Wii again on Monday. I created my own workout, where in about 40 minutes, I'll burn roughly 250 calories. It looks like a good cardio workout with some weight exercises mixed in

Good day for today ..
30 grapes
hot chocolate
1/2 c. Kashi Summer Berry granola
banana
2 green peppers
2 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
yogurt
8 chicken tenders (tyson, frozen)
1 cup spaghetti, milk & cheese
1 c. cantaloupe
Ending up with roughly 1400 calories ..
I did the workout I created on the Wii Active today. It is such a good workout, I was sweating like crazy when I finished. It was about 45 minutes long, and it says I burned over 350 calories :boggle: I couldn't believe how many it said. It was a lot of cardio, and even 10 minutes worth of step aerobics in there. I loved the step aerobics; it was such a good workout, and I even used my wii balance board to make it even better.
Going to take a break from working out tomorrow though. I really need it.

Yeah, I've never tried the Luna bars either. But I'm in general not too big on bars. Jenny's usually pretty good at finding yummy things though...so let me know what you think! :)

Mmmmmmm yummy! I had the Chocolate Peppermint Stick one and, IMO, tastes sooo much like a Thin Mint cookie. It was delish! I'll have to pick some more up next time I go grocery shopping. It's a good post workout snack I think.
So after that, it puts me at 480 for today. I'm so under my limit, but I'm really not hungry. Dinner tonight is grilled cheese, so I'll stay under again. Which is good, cause after yesterday, I need a really good day.
Did the elliptical for 20 min, and did 2 ab exercises on the floor.
Weigh in tomorrow! Not sure how I'll do. I've been feeling like gross and fat all week. I don't know what it is. I just feel like my stomach's gotten bigger or something. Hopefully I'll lose 1 or 2 pounds.

Glad you like it! I love them post-work out, or when I'm out of the house for a long period of time! It keeps me from grabbing something bad for me! They have SO many flavors. So far, the only one I'm not super fond of is the Smores. It tastes like granola with chocolate coating, kind of boring.
Good luck on the weigh in! :crossfingers: I had a fat day on Friday. I weighed in yesterday and had lost over 3 pounds! I realized the reason I was feeling fat and like my pants didn't fit was the fact that AF showed up last night! Haha. Don't know why I didn't think of it! BLOATING.

It was so yummy! I got the Cookies n Cream one too, since you said you liked it so much. I may pick up some more if I go out today. I think it'd be good for me to eat before my workout. Like on my drive home. That way I won't be hungry when I'm working out, plus it'll hopefully give me energy to workout.
I weighed in at 147.6. I think when I weighed myself last week I ended at 149? So maybe 1-2 pounds lost. Hopefully this week will be good. I plan watching what I eat all day today, but splurging at dinner since it's corned beef tonight. Mmmmm. Plus a workout today will even things out, maybe even two depending on how busy I am with things.

So far I've had 25 grapes for breakfast and soyjoy mango coconut bar for food .. putting me at around 180 .. i'm trying to be good throughout the day until dinner .. and i plan on making chocolate chip and cherry banana bread for dessert too .. So who knows where I'll end up today ..
Just finished the elliptical too .. 25 minutes .. Hopefully after dinner we'll get out for a nice walk for some added exercise!

Had an eh day today ..
25 grapes
slice choc chip cherry banana bread
donut :frown:
banana
red pepper
3 carrots
1/4 c. cottage cheese
luna bar
1.5 servings chic nuggets
1 serving french fries
About 1500 calories today .. probably a little over
Worked out in the Wii Active. About 250 calories burned in 35 minutes. I should've done more, but my knee started killing me, and I had to quit with 3 workouts left. Oh well ..
I just can't help but thinking like my stomach is getting bigger. Like the past couple of weeks, I feel so fat and gross. I look at my stomach and it doesn't look like what it looked like a few weeks ago. I asked FH to give me an HONEST answer (yeah right) and he said it doesn't look like it's gotten bigger at all, if anything that i've lost more weight .. sigh .. so who knows
hopefully tomorrow will be a better day with no donuts

Yesterday had about 1500 cals, maybe a lil over
25 grapes
banana bread
banana
green pepper
carrots
yogurt
luna bar
3 oz. ribs
1/4 cup noodles
banana bread
not the greatest days .. no workout, just tired when i got home so i showered then relaxed
and i weighed myself this morning .. and i've gained 2 lbs since sunday! wth! could it just be muscle? i wasn't happy when i saw that number on the scale. and i know you should also judge by how your clothes fit, but mine really aren't fitting any looser than normal .. sighhhh
jennybaby

2 lbs in 2 days!? Unless you've eaten and extra 7000 calories in the past two days, it is not possible! (It takes 3500 calories to gain a pound of fat, and that's a lot of muscle to build in two days.)
So, you are either retaining water, the scale is shifty, you are starting AF, or you weighed yourself wrong Sunday or Today.
Don't get yourself down! The scale is only one number! Have you tried measuring?
