Yeah, I heard this a little bit ago. :(

The news said most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last like 5 months - he was diagnosed 20 months ago. He was really fighting it hard. It's so sad.

My dad had this, the survival rate is SO low for this particular cancer, and even people who fight it back don't get much time, either. I'm having my wedding registry be for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Foundation cause I'm hoping that research will eventually at least give people a good fighting chance against this type of cancer. It's so hard to fight because it's almost impossible to detect. People who have it found in very early stages (which is uncommon and the only times I've heard of it is because it was found during some other op in an adjacent area, or something of that nature) actually have a pretty fair prognosis compared to the normal rate at which they find it.

I was always amazed that he fought it so long, and I was very very sad to hear that he passed today. :( I wish all the bit of peace for him and his family.
