So I called my ob and made an appt for next friday...Back in Feb I had an appt but it was made before Nicholas passed and the appt was actually like a week after his funeral...I wasn't in the emotional state to even have the pap done. So with how things are going through now I went ahead and made the appt for next friday...I also told them that we want to ttc in the next couple months. This is all out of my league honestly. When I got preggos with Nicholas it was a wonderful blessing surprise no trying and no planning. Which was fine because he put Jeremy and I together, we got together when I was 6 months and was the only daddy nicholas knew. But we tried for about 8-9 months to have another baby til we decided last year to wait maybe 5 years before attempting. That way we figured Nicholas health would be better and he'd be older. Jeremy has never had any children or any scares. Well I don't know what to ask, what to expect and what not. Granted I've had 1 pregnancy and no others. Since we're on different insurance at time should he ask his dr for testing or do i ask mine? Part of me is scared that it will come back not good or something because I strongly know we are meant to be parents and honestly I need to know I can have a healthy child...That might sound insane but all we've know with kids is issues. I know that its not true because Nicholas was a normal boy in most sense but I want to be able to have a baby and not have dr's on speed dial or first name basis. I'm hoping come christmas we can announce a nice present for our families, because its what they all want for us as much as we do.

Good luck at your appointment! I hope everything goes well and you can be a mommy all over again very soon! I would ask your OB when you go in for your appointment what he/she recommends as far as whom you should go to regarding your hubby's testing.

Good luck!

As far as questions to ask that varies from person to person. For me I had some specific health concerns I wanted to address. Also I have major back issues and wanted to make sure that I would be strong enough to carry a pregnancy to fullterm.

You may also want to talk to them about screening for certain diseases. I'm not sure you ethnicity, but some are more pron to certain diseases more then others. Both Jon and I are french Canadian so I was screened for cystic fibrosis (both need to be carriers).

Other stuff to talk about is changes you will want to make to your lifestyle. You will want to start taking prenatal vitiams and folic acid. Folic acid will help minimize the chances of some neural tube defects. I have heard in order to get the full advantage of this you should take this for a minimum of 3 months before conception.

Eating right and exercising will also help. Also is you smoke quit, limit caffeine and alcohol intake.

Good luck with your appointment and lots of baby dust to you!

Thanks all for well wishing...well for most part appt went really good...I feel really comfortable with my ob.....We are not officially trying to ttc til jan 1st. But we are going to both start taking multi vitamins...with DHA and folic acid for both...she said that for him it helps little swimmers get more fiesty and creative...ok if it works yay!!! and we are joining gym next week to just make healthier weights etc....And he has already started cutting back on caffenine..So not only are we talking about a baby we are taking moves to better lifestyles...so yay us!!!! Only bad thing about dr was they found a golf size "knot" in my under arm in my arm pit...not overally worried...its painful some last 3 months but not horrible so she gave me meds and said warm compresses and call back in few weeks if its not better. So after the holidays we will be activactly trying for a baby!!! I'm so excited....I miss having a child in the house and holding and all that mommy stuff....

i had one of those "knots" about the same size and location... i took antibiotics for like a week? n it cleared right up... i do remember it being painful tho! it was scary when i found it tho, b/c i have fam history of cancer of the breast n lymph nodes so it was like ruh roh that could be either! thankfully it was just an infected sweat gland or something
