So, Lobo and I are of course looking to have a nice sized wedding, but want to do as much DIY as possible.

Thus far we're doing our own centerpieces and that's about it xD

We will admit that we are both too lazy to do our own invitations, so those are either going to be Walmart/Hobby store bought, or we're having his Uncle Yum design and make them.

What other DIY things can you suggest?

DIY ur save the dates! i semi-diy'd them as follows: 1) print cheap magnets from vista print (30 bucks tops for like 200 magnets) 2) buy some cardstock from walmart, i got a pack of 4.25x5.5 inch cards from target for 10 bucks n got a bottle of re-stickable glue... 3) glued magnets onto cards 4) added a flourish stamp on the top n bottom for a lil pizazz n voila! 100 STDs for 45 bucks!

u really don't need to do the last steps but i got small magnets n it seemed weird to throw them into the envelope w/nothing else LOL

---
u could also DIY ur programs fairly easy too... and maybe ur favors

I guess it depends on the size and type of wedding a bit. Here is what we DIY-ed:

STDs
Invitations
Program Fans
All flowers for ceremony and reception
Centerpieces
Table Runners
Wedding Cake (I made cheesecakes)
Appetizers (made by by brother in law)
Candy Bar
Photo Booth

We also did a lot of other things to cut down costs (if that's what you're goal is) like hiring our friends with talents to do things we would have paid a lot more for like bartending, DJing, and marrying us :bbmrgreen:

I made my wedding favors fairly cheaply. I bought the clear plastic boxes at Michael's and filled them with Jelly Bellies using our color scheme(dark brown, pale pink, and white). Then I hot glued brown & pink ribbon around them with a cute flower on top. I bought all the supplies at Michael's with the exception of the Jelly Bellies. You can make these ahead of time since the Jelly Bellies keep for quite a while. Also, but usint the hot glue on the ribbons, we knew the boxes wouldn't accidentally open during transport or the ribbon would fall off. Everyone loved them!

If you want to go really dramatic and easy you could go with some galss vases you can purchase at Michael's or Walmart and just insert some artificial cherry blossom branches or any silk flowering tree branches and you can cut them down to the size you need. It's very simple and easy, if you want to go a step further you can add some vase filler or even water to the vases to give them a more realistic look. If your wedding is in the fall or winter you could go with bare tree branches, this make for a dramatic look and it doesn't block the view of anyone in the room. Here's some examples below of what I'm talking about.

Be sure to check out your local dollar store! They don't always have the greatest stuff there, but you are likely to find party favor boxes, napkins, paper plates, invitations, all that stuff. Big money saver.

before I decided to purchase my invites I thought I would do them myself.and what I found was that the DIY invite kits come with maybe 50 invites in them and the prices of them vary depending on their paper type and how their decorated. Some of them don't even come with reply cards. The number of kits you buy depends on the number of people you invite. It realy depends on how big of a hassle their be and if your have time.

davidsbridal.com has realy nice invites. Some of them are only $65 per 100 invites.the reply cards are $50 per 100 cards.Their even line the inside of the envelope any color you want. You can get sample cards for $1 a piece. If you only need about 100 invites your looking at roughly $125 bucks with shipping, but less stress and hassle.
