Bride_Craft,
I just read your how to on how to make a bouquet of carnations. If i'm using Mini carnations instead of regular ones, how many steams do you think i will need?

That member has not been active since June, so I doubt you're going to get an answer to this, unfortunately.

I haven't seen the instructions for the carnation bouquet, but I imagine she states how many big carns to use? If you want to make your bouquet the same size, I would multiply the number of carns by 3 (ie 3 mini's make one large). Just off the top of my head I think that would be about right, or you can go into a florist shop and compare the two, see the size difference and go from there. Good luck! :)
You may try asking Kelly (Kfancii). She's (was I think) a florist :)

As Justina said, I am a trained florist, so I will take a stab at answering your question. :bbmrgreen:
Fresh flowers really vary a great deal in size depending on what grower you get them from. I have seen Carnations that come from California or Denver that are about 4 inches in diameter and carns that come from Columbia that are closer to 1.5 inches across. The number of flowers you are going to need really depends on how large you want the bouquet.
I would plan 2 stems of minis to every 1 stem of regular carns just to be safe. Most of the time minis will have 2-3 large blooms and 1-2 buds on them. Sunny did a good job estimating 3 mini blooms per large bloom, but I would order more to be on the safe side.
Best to you!
Kelly
