Today is the day... I'm leaving in 1 hour for my HSG. I'm actually really nervous becuase I really have no idea what to expect.

Just send some good vibes my way if you can spare any! I'm praying for good news and open tubes!

OPEN TUBES!!!!! Wahoooo....

The right tube had a tiny kink in it and when the dye was pushed through, the tube straightened itself out :)

Not going to scare anyone, but this HSG was not fun at all. It wasn't horendous pain, but it was VERY uncomfortable. I won't go too too much into detail, but it's pretty invasive I think.

The effects AFTER the procedure is just some cramping that went away after a nice nap :) I mean, it's a little tender, but nothing too too bad :)

It was just really neat seeing my insides on a screen.

Now we need to get DH's sperm in order. His results weren't that good, soooo we're dealing with male and female factor infertility...Ughhh...Oh well, we'll get there soon!

some advice:
1. Empty bladder (also call your doctor to make sure you don't need to go to his/her office for a pregnancy test before hand...I did one at home and it wasn't acceptable...ggrrr)
2. (TMI) I had a little bit of trouble moving bowels last night becuase it was a little hard to bare down.
3. Relax...I was shaking like a leaf cause I had no idea what to expect!
4. Bring a pad (they advised me against tampons).
5. The dye is actually not blue, it's clear! LOL...But it's VERY sticky and goopy.
6. Take the rest of the day off from work. You're a little crampy afterwards, but I fell asleep and felt IMMEDIATELY better after my nap.
7. Don't sit up/get up right away. Ask to lay there for a few minutes. I almost passed out cause my Blood pressure dropped.


It's really not THAT bad... And it's SOOOO cool to see your insides on the screen.

Take a tylenol or advil or something before you go! That should help with the cramps, etc.
