I am 5 weeks and 2 days ... yesterday I went for my ultrasound, and they were able to see the sac and the yolk sac.
She said next time I go i will be able to see the baby. She said ultrasound is last to see the baby, and I am too early to see it now. She said everything is in the right spot though.
We already have names picked out.
Girl = Lily Sophia
Boy= Connor Tristian

We had the names picked out already, and i went to the doc alone.
But is is bad that they couldnt see the baby? It was a pelvic ultrasound, and she said the pelvic is last to see the baby.

Did you not ask the doctor these questions?

Glad everything looks ok. :chimp: Sorry you had to go to the doctor alone. How have things been the past couple of days. I've been thinking about you!
I've never heard the name Tristian before - Tristan, yes, but Tristian is interesting and different!
I like the name Lily Sophia - very classic. I like L names, always have. I've always thought that if for some reason I changed my mind and decided to have kids I would name a girl Lila.

( all up to you! )
lily is my MOH's daughter, but it's actually "Lillian" for her great grandmother...i think they're both awesome names....congrats!

Thanks so much ladies.
And Gwen- I mean Tristan. Lol, I obviously can't spell well.
Im doing okay- things are going alot better. He took me out to celebrate and apologized and said he is excited for the baby.
Yeah, my doc called with my ultrasound results, said he can see the sac but not the yolk sac ( which I could sear the ultrasound lady pointed out, maybe she just didnt print it) and he said he think sits just too early but wants to order another one to make sure its a "live pregnancy". That phrase scares me :(

Up until recently, I have been neglecting the fact that I am pregnant and just trying to have normal days without throwing up. Haha. So here it goes..
Today I am 14 weeks 2 days. My belly looks like a little round basketball ( A little one!) Which means I look like I ate a bunch of food, and not quite pregnant. My SIL calls it my food baby.
Morning sickness is still pretty bad, excep the last two days, it seems to have been giving me a break. I actually ate my whole lunch at Paradise Bakery...and an ice cream! :D
Heartburn is another issue. heartburn sucks. So bad. I woke up the other night and had it so bad, i ran down to QT to get Tums ( Shane would have but he is injured due to falling off a ladder at work :( ) and in QT I totally threw up everywhere! I ran out...without the tums :(
Names
Names are hard to choose, so ladies, help me out
For girls we like:
Sophia, Lilly, Natalie, Ophelia. ( we both like Ophelia but think it would be strange seeing that we have a dog and a cat names hamlet and macbeth...)
For boys:
Tristan, or jack. I like Troy.
PS. I SWEAR I felt the baby move a few times. is this too early though?
I feel bad that you are still having morning sickness! I am not sure the exact week when you feel the baby, but i hear its like butterflies in your stomach.
Here is a website that I go to quiet a bit, take a look!
http://www.whattoexpect.com/what-to-expect/landing-page.aspx
I like the names that you have picked out, especially the boys..Jack! That is the name we picked if its a boy. The girls names we have not agreed on, and until we know what it is, no need to really think about it.
I am almost 9 1/2 weeks pregnant, and only have been sick twice (the toothbrush one) other than that its just stomach aches, so I have been really lucky.
I will enjoy reading your baby journal!
Qtpie

I swear I felt the baby fluttering start at around 12 weeks, so it is quite possible. I keep the tums by the bed at night.

Dani.. Im so excited for you! Are you wanting a boy or girl? it felt alot like butterflies or just little jumps in my stomach, it was totally weird! I saw my baby doing sommersaults and all kinds a crazy moves on the ultrasound last time!
Also, I keep the tums by my bed now too! No more QT trips for me!

I'm glad you have been feeling a little better the past couple days!
I'm also glad you started a baby journal and that you're coming around to acknowledge that you're preggers! haha
I like the names you picked out, too! A lot of my friends have been naming their girls Sophia lately - must be a wave!
Funny about Ophelia! Even though I love the name, I can't get the image out of my head from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead where Ophelia is drowning herself in a bucket!

Hearing the heartbeat is amazing, I got to hear it at 7 weeks, so I am sure you will be able too!
I was scared to step on the scale too, and it turns out I LOST weight,,,must be all the sickness :(

Danielle, have you been eating lots of small meals? I read that if you try and keep a little food in your tummy at all times, it's supposed to help with the nausea. Also I've read about women keeping saltine crackers by the bed and eating some when they first wake up. I have a very sensitive stomach so that's the thing about pregnancy I'm most worried about. I'm already looking into what to do to try and ease morning sickness even though I'm not pregnant yet!

I do try to eat small meals. I cant even think about eating before 11 am though! Most of my meals are small cause now I take like an hour to eat, and by that time everyone else is done, so I dont get to eat alot !
The crackers thing, I tried...and I spit them out before swallowing..every morning! Lol. I used to loveeeeeeee saltine crackers. Now i cant even think about them...or chicken noodle soup!
Although, I have had really strange cravings. Like I NEED a block of cream cheese right now. no bagel...just, cream cheese.

You actually want to eat fish during pregnancy because it has Omega-3's. McDonald's Filet 'O Fish is mostly Pollock or Hake. Which are both listed on the go ahead and eat list. However, it is deep fried, which probably isn't the best for you... :)

Congrats on your little additon and for starting a journal.
One of my coworkers who is due in Dec had really bad morning sickness and was losing weight too and it wasn't until sometime between 14-16 weeks that she was feeling better, looking healthier and being able to eat - so I would definately say that the bout of morning sickness is probably coming to a close.

So, I have my doctor appointment today. I am PRAYING I don't have to do another blood test. i am getting all sweaty and nervous thinking about it now...and my appointment is not even for another 3 hours!
I decided to be nice and invite my MIL so she can see the baby on the ultrasound. My mom and Shane are coming too.
I'm feeling Lilly's kicks even more now, I like it and don't like it at the same time. It feels alot like a muscle twitch or something, and it freaks me out! But it reminds me that Lilly is healthy!
Also, I have FOUR stretch marks. Count em...4! Two on each of my sides. :( Lily is offically grounded upon removal of my womb for makin me get these stretch marks! :whoa:
Also, my back is startin to hurt, my upper back. I think it's all this weight!

I was pretty disappointed at my appointment yesterday. Again, the doctor had to deliver a baby so I didnt get to talk to him. That's fine though- except the RN didn't answer any of my questions! She rushed through my visit- I even when I asked her questions.
And, I guess what they told me at the hospital was wrong- I'm not farther along then they thought I'm actually a day earlier then the original. So, i went in being 17w5d, and left 16w3d :( Even though Im measuring alot bigger- my uterus is already above my belly button and im feeling the baby move for two weeks. hmm..
But it was confirmed that the baby is definetly a girl! :hearts:
Im starting to get bad cramps in my abdomin and hips and pain in my back. I hope its just strecthing and nothing to worry about.

Just because you are measuring big does not always mean you are further along. They say the best way to measure your due date is by the u/s you get early in pregnancy. SO that may be why your doctor is not wanting to change yours.
One reason that you could be measuring larger is just because you have a larger baby. Or you could have gestational diabetes or something. (that test is done at about 25-28 weeks.)
Feeling the baby kick starts at different times for everyone. Thinner people tend to feel it sooner then people with a little extra weight. The adverage is 16-18 weeks I believe. Some feel it before, some after.
As for finding out the sex. They can find out really early in some cases like 14 or 15 weeks. It's not very set as to if it will be right though. The best time to find out the gender and be right is after 18 weeks.
I do like the bedding you picked out. I am looking at something very similar if we end up with a girl.

Thanks for clearing that up. the due date they gave me in the beginning matches the one I have now still. I hope our baby is not a bigger baby! I'm nervous enough already pushing an average sized baby out! :yesnod:

So I am 23w3d today.
I got my H1N1 shot yesterday, and I am still alive which is good. Lily is kicking me all the time these days. Sometimes I swear she kicks my cervix or something because one day I screamed at Shane and told him I swear a foot just popped out. He laughed and rolled over back to bed.
My belly is getting bigger and it's getting harder to breathe. Lol.
We finally agreed on a middle name for Lily.
We think her name is going to be Lily Annette. My MIL is having a fit cause she hates it. When I texted her the middle name all she said was " Have I mentioned the name Jade yet?" Bleh!
My morning sickness is pretty much gone. You have no clue how excited I am. I only throw up now when I get heartburn. Which is an evil, evil thing.
I can't wait til she is here. Im so excited to hold her.

I'm so glad you all came up with a middle name! I think it's lovely, and as long as you like, it doesn't matter what anyone says!

Cheers to being done with morning sickness! Woohoo!! That's great news!

LoL, Katie kicks my cervix quite often, not as much now cause I think she is running out of room, but it is the wierdest feeling ever. And it sure does feel like her foot just came flying out. Just wait until she runs out of room in there and all she can do is roll from side to side. You will just see your whole belly roll. I love watching Katie move around. I love the name you have choosen for her.

aw, you poor baby! (not being sarcastic lol)...i guess i got SUPER lucky! only threw up 5 times, 2 being from taco bell, and fh threw up too! girl, when she gets bigger, you'll spend FOREVER laying down or leaning back, just watching your belly move! i did! fh thought i was nuts, but i'd down a big swig of milk or soda, and alex would start flipping, causing these big lumps on my belly, that'd move around! poor kid, i'd do it on purpose lol!!! like you, i thought i was 5 weeks farther along, and i argued with my dr alot! especially when alex came out beat red, low sugar, and skin peeling like crazy!!!(which i'm told are definite tell-tale signs of an overdue baby)...so wha is your due date? i have yet to catch that anywhere? i thought i was due 9/16/08, dr put me at 10/25/08...then, on 10/8/08 alex was laready 7lbs 9oz, so we induced on the 16th of oct...8lbs 10 oz...imagine if i'd went another 9 days! yikes!

Even if it's only in your name, since you are married it will be considered half his. Which means that if you get a divorce that you two may have to somehow split the value of the house. I would NOT buy a house at this point if I were you. If you still plan to get a divorce, I would wait until after to buy a house, because then it will really be yours.

Danielle- how are you feeling?
DanDanNoodleBowl
01-04-2010, 01:42 AM
hey ladies im still pregnant. I found out the contractions were because I am severly dehydrated. The nurse told me the highest dehydrated you can be is .30%, and I am .28%....so thats why I have been having contractions.
I got pretty much yelled at by everyone for not drinking enough water!
I'm glad that the contractions have stopped! I hope the situation didn't stress you out too much. Drinking enough water is hard for me too. It always has been. I had to come up with a daily plan to enable myself to drink enough. Did they tell you how much fluid you need to be drinking? I have heard so many different numbers...64 oz up to like 150 oz!
When I go to work I fill up my 40 oz Klean Kanteen with water and drink that throughout the day. I also generally drink 12 oz before work, 8 oz on my lunch break, and 36 oz after work. (I know that each of our glasses hold 12 oz.) So I guess this leaves me at about 100 oz each day, give or take. It took me a while, but I found something that works for me and it's just a part of my everyday routine now.

Glad Lily is staying put!
Dehydration is quite a common problem, so I started carrying a water bottle around with me everywhere I go, that way I drink more. Do you have a bottle to use? Me and DH have found thatn having it with you constantly is the best way to remind yourself to drink it!
The recommended amount of water for an average person is 2L every day - more in heat etc.
The other side of dehydration is to avoid having lots of caffeine and salt etc. which can dehydrate you anyway.

I'm sorry, I only know litres... I'd have to convert too! :winktongue:
2L is the usual amount for the average person, I'd guess you'd need more during pregnancy...
Just had a look online and read that 12 ounces is needed to replce amniotic fluid every hour. So the suggestion is to have at least 16 ounces every hour... Not sure how much that is, but apparently at least 12 ounces an hour is recommended for during pregnancy.

8oz an hour is what the average person should be drinking, so it makes sense that it's more during pregnancy. I say, aim for 12 and if you don't get there, any improvement is better than none! Urologists (kidney specialists) say that if everyone drank enough water they would be out of a job. Your kidneys process and clean your blood for toxins, which are expelled as urine. When you are pregnant you are filtering for your baby too, so you should expect to have to urinate more (as well as baby pressing on your bladder, of course).
The website says that besides the possibility of pre-term labour, lack of water during pregnancy can also cause "...constipation, headaches, nausea (and other morning sickness symptoms) and fatigue. Pregnancy can be uncomfortable enough without adding these symptoms!" As well as: "Staying well-hydrated is also a great way to reduce the chances of stretch marks." This woman was pregnant with twins and she was trying to drink 16oz every half hour!! http://www.tummywear.org/pregnancy-water-intake.php

Have you tried drinking decaf tea? I've found that when water upsets my stomach, I can usually manage to drink tea with no problem. Atleast that's what's worked for me!

Ill have to try tea! I really like tea alot. I tried Crystal light, for my first time ever, to help me drink more water and almost threw up it was so gross.
Omg pica cravings are SO much more intense then the regular food cravings I have had. Like ice cream, I can crave it and get it out of my mind after an hour or so. But with this, it's like all I can think about. I asked Shane how bad it is to drink windex the other day, and he like flipped out lol. He told me it's posionous.

About the BFing..I wanted to breastfeed but I am not sure now, having to get the surgery. I mean, the pain meds should be fine since they prescribed me percocete for when I get attacks. But I only plan on using them if i REALLLLLLY need them.

Danielle, I had my gall bladder out almost a year ago and trust me i know how you feel. I was like completely doubled over in pain for the 2 weeks before surgery. Afterwards it was like 2 days at most that I hurt, after that I was still off work and completely bored lol. Honestly as far as pain meds afterwards, due to it being a stomach issue becareful taking some meds because some are cautioned against using cause like ibprofen (sp?) can cause further bleeding in stomach. I have to be careful with narcotics, they make sicker than a dog. So really I didn't wanna take the pain meds that would make me throw up and hurt worse. 4 hours after surgery I took and continued to take just straight tylenol through the weekend. Plus I slept in recliner for couple days. Only cause our bed is so comfy and you can literally sink into it....lol. Good luck and hope my info helped...and don't worry bout lily I know someone who had hers out at 32-33 wks and still carried baby to term and he is know a perfect lil guy!!!

I realized I never typed out my birth story. Here it goes:
I went to the doctor and I was told I had low amniotic fluid. Two days they were deciding between inducing me or not, and they didn't. The third day my fluid was at a 4 out of 10, so they induced me.
They gave me cervadil ( I think?) gel to open my cervix, which hurt my back pretty bad. The gel opened me to 2 cm. At this point the doctor came in to check me, and checked my cervix, which i promtly threatened his life that if he ever hurt me that bad again, I wouldn't be responsible for what I'd do :laugh2:. After that, I had to walk around, which I didn't like doing because the cervadil was hurting my back so bad. Aftwer about 4 hours, and stuck at 2cm, they gave me my epidural. And it hurt! But I was fine after, and my legs started becoming numb and I was happy. They kept checking me and I was stuck at 2cm. I had alot of friends and family come to visit to keep me company, and I didnt feel anything!
At one point my friend allie was sitting next to me. And I laid my hand on my own leg and I jumped up and said " ALLIE GET YOUR HAND OFF MY LEG!" and she goes " Dan, that's your own hand...." and everyone was laughing. I guess i didnt realize it because my legs were so numb they didnt feel like my legs.
After a few hours, I was opned to a 4. Then, they checked me an hour later, and I was at a 6. The lady decided she could stretch me out to a 9. At that point, shane was asleep on the floor. The lady said I could start pushing. And my mom Jumped up and ran over to shane yelling " ITS TIME!' And Shane jumped up and was like " WHAT!!!!!! WHAT? WHERE AM I??" and i was freaking out because I was just a 4 an hour ago, and now I have to push! So, I start to feel alot of pain. And i tell the lady I am in alot of pain, did you turn off my epidural? And she didnt answer me...but she called the anistesiologist to come in and give me more "medicine". And I said to her " was that just IV fluid!?" and she winked at me!!!! SO, yes they did turn off my epidural. And I was in so much pain. So, I push for about an 1 1/2 with very little progress, but excrutiating pain. I was hysterical crying, and begging my mom to make them stop hurting me, which made her cry! Shane was white as a sheet, and in the middle of my pushing, decided he has to poop! So, he goes to the bathroom, and Im just like wtf? hahah
So, then the doctor comes in and tells me that lily is stuck and we can either do a c section or try the vacuum extractor. I told them to try the vaccuum. Which was the most painful thing ever. The doctor had to use ALL of his strength to pull her out. He had like, both feet planted on the floor, and leaning back pulling. I was screaming my head off at this point, and crying and yelling,a nd I saw my mom and grandma crying too. it was very emotional for them to see me in so much pain. But after 5 mins with the vaccum, she finally came out.
I had a pretty bad tear, and i was sown up, and i was able to eat. I got up and went to the bathroom too, but couldnt pee so they had to insert a catheter.
When I walked out of my door, to go see lily, all the nurses clapped for me and said they heard me screaming down on the other end of the floor.
So did all my friends and family haha
oh and i broke my tailbone, but its all healed now!
the end!:coffee:

Your story scares the heck out of me, but it reminds me of what I'd like to keep in mind: labor might be totally horrible, but it doesn't last forever, and look at the cute baby you get to take home!

Exactly! It might be really bad, but you will get through it! And, it's only a dayof you're life then you get the rest of your life with your little ones!
