I may have to look up this shred thing ;)
But my DVD player is broken right now, so all I have is the one in my computer; it is not likely I could work out in the office here ;)
Honestly, you don't need the Shred. Just picking something and sticking to it works. It's the Strength training that does it. Circuit training is probably best, but either way... I know you're making positive changes to your body!! Keep on rocking it.
thanks ladys i am still a little in shock over my mum
jenny i am so proud of you your looking great i got to say i was thinking along the same lines as weblady an going out an buying the shred to an thats because you have been so positive about it

Jenny, you look fantastic! Now I want to look into the Shred!

Glad to see you checking in, Denise! Good to hear you've been doing well at healthy living. When I moved, all bets were off. HAHAHA. Less funny, I gained back like 7 pounds! UGH.
Thanks. :) I really never thought I'd be bragging about the Shred, but man! Those are the best results I've seen on myself from any workout routine! That picture is about the same weight as where I left off in May, but I look at least 10 pounds lighter with all of the toning!
And Janet, my prayers are still with you. :flower:

Just wondering how you ladies are doing!
I've been doing well with everything still. Had a bit too much chocolate last night, so I maintained instead of dropping .2 or something, but that's okay! I lost 2.4 pounds this week, so I am on track for loosing 8 pounds in September. Woo. I've been doing pretty well at eating more whole foods and cutting back at the empty calories. My fridge and pantry are running low on snack food, and that scares me a bit, but I'll manage.
I finished the Shred!!!
:confetti:
Only lost about 8.5 pounds, but man. The toning and muscle! Incredible. Trying to figure out a workout routine now. I think next week I'll start at the YMCA. Maybe look into some classes. I think I might take a break today. Or maybe I'll go for a light jog after dinner. Who knows.
Tell me about your adventures, ladies!

Jenny, you are a hero to all. :boxing: I'm very proud of everything you've accomplished! I can't wait to see what you do next.
As for me, well, ho hum. I need to get myself on the ball but I just keep procrastinating. I think I'll start the shred at the beginning of October when I get back from Vegas. I'm gonna need constant nagging though. ;)

I took a break over the weekend, but got back into it on Monday. I am not really keeping track of my progress, I am just trying to stick to it as a lifestyle thing and let the changes come as they will.

Thanks - not quite sure what I did to my neck/back but it's slowly healing and I'm gaining mobility again and made it back to work today. Muscle relaxers weren't helping so I'm thinking I pinched a nerve some how.
Sure - we can do it together. I'll be honest though, I'm a huge procrasinator and can easily put things off, especially once my course gets going and things get busy so I know upfront that I will probably miss a few days (especially Mondays/Tuesdays as assignments are due Wednesday)...lol

Thanks. :) You're too kind!
Mmmm. Pizza, fries and booze. I'm having pizza (homemade and healthy, minus the bacon LOL), but I may have to think about this booze thing! Ahaha.
If you're not getting enough calories, try high calorie 'good' foods like natural peanut butter, avocado, mango (over 100 calories per cup... high for fruit!), nuts, etc. Good luck. You'll find some balance soon. I used to have the same problem, but found ways to add in more calories. It's a good problem, because it means we have more room to add in goodies like full fat cheese!!

So I started Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism again today. I did 3 circuits, but really want to do the entire workout (7 circuits)!!! It's 40 minutes (not including warm up and cool down). My goal is to finish the entire workout. I don't know when I want to do it by, I'm just going to listen to my body. I think it won't take too long. I could have done more today. My body is just sore lately and it's intense. More intense than the Shred. I might do the other 4 circuits later today.
i don't want any one to fall of their seat but i did 20 mins of cardio today it was only on the wii fit but its a start

Good for you; everything has to start somewhere!
There was a time when I would struggle for 15-20 mins cardio. When I first started at the gym I would do 20-30 mins or so, but now I do 45 mins, plus strength training.
So just keep at it and you will see progress :)
Me; I think I am getting stronger, because I am not really sore from my workouts anymore.

Proud to say I am down 27.8 pounds since Christmas, and 20.8 since joining Spark. It's been a long road and that 2 months of backwards habits of fast food and not working out from Mid May-Mid July really kicked my butt, but hey! It's progress!

WTG Jenny, keep it up!
I weighed myself today; I know I said I wasn't going to, but the guy at the gym asked me how much weight I had lost. At first I said I wasn't sure and didn't want to get on the scale or focus on the weight, but then after he left and I was there alone, I got on the scale ... still only looks like 10 lbs lost.
But I can see changes in my body though and I can tell I am getting stronger. Most of my clothes are big on me now and I can wear my size down jeans now! So I am going to stick to the whole muscle weighs more thing and really try not to get back on a scale again!
I am at the gym 5 days a week (sometimes 6) now; doing 45 mins cardio everyday and strength training 3-4 days. Sure, I don't salads everyday, but I don't eat that bad. So I know it will come with time.
I am ok with the shape of my body, I just don't want to be as fluffy as I am now.
Sorry, I went on there; I guess I just have to keep telling myself all that ;)

Me, well, I'm not doing so good. I'm back up to my normal weight I was like 3 years ago. Ugh. I'm trying to get back into the Shred. I did my 20 min workout today when I got home. I've been doing good. Have done 4 straight days of the Shred. I told DH it feels like it's getting easier; it's easier for me to do a few of the exercises, especially the arm ones. I still HATE push-ups, even the girly ones. I just can't do 'em. I think I'll take a break tonight, my foot is kinda bothering me today. And I'll double up tomorrow. Plus, it's way too hot today, and I think it's supposed to cool down tomorrow.
Calorie-wise I've been doing good. Below 1500 Mon-Wed, but last night I strayed a bit. I made some peanut butter cookies and DH and I ate them all. I had massive cramps, and needed something sweet to eat. I'll be trying to be good this weekend, but who knows how that will go.

That's awesome Jenny! Glad you met your goal for the month!
I've been doing good, mostly. Starting my 3rd week of the Shred, and I just started level 2 today. I actually like level 2 better than level 1. I completed 1 with being able to do most of the exercises all the way through. I'm still horrible at push-ups, but I think that's one thing I won't ever be good at.
I'm also eating between 1300 and 1500 calories a day, staying in the ranges for the other categories like fat & protein, eating lots of fruits and veggies, and PLENTY of water. I drink a ton of water during the day at work. I feel I'm doing a lot of things right.
I'm so frustrated with this whole thing though. I've been doing so good with my eating and exercise, but I feel like my body hasn't changed at all. I started on September 19th at 166.7 pounds. The next week I was down to 164.8, which I was okay with because I'd rather lose slow. This week, I lost nothing. Same exact weight as last week. Ugh. And I've been taking pictures every Sunday to see my progress, and I look at them and don't really see any. My jeans don't fit any better either. They're still kinda tight. I'm going to start walking on my lunch break for an hour; I can do a little over 2 miles in that time frame. If I don't lose anything this week, I don't know what I'm going to do...

Amy, I'm sorry! I know how you feel! These past few weeks, I've seen some slow weight loss (barely got to 8 pounds lost and most of it was in 2 weeks!) and I'm still wearing a lot of the same jeans. I've had my eye on this pair of jeans for months trying them on week after week and they STILL don't fit. It can be so frustrating.
:realmad:
But, then I noticed... the difference is in my thighs!! I have no more cottage cheese thighs and my jeans are all REALLY loose in the thighs. Even my size 16s!! Also noticed it in my arms.
I'm sure there's a difference somewhere for you. Just keep focusing on how good it makes you feel.

I get frustrated when I don't see the pounds come off how I would like. I have given up on the scale at this point for me. I can see changes, so I just have to keep at it. I want to make this regular exercise thing a lifestyle change anyway, so I am just trying to focus on how I feel and how my clothes fit and all.
You could start measuring yourself like every other week and weighing in every month.
Best wishes to all :)

I'm just gonna keep at it and hopefully start seeing more results. I just wish I could feel it in my body. Like my arms aren't as big, or my hips. Last time doing the Shred, my body actually changed and it was much easier.
Ugh. Why did I let myself get back up to this weight? I'm going to start trying harder and working myself harder during workouts. I ate about 1300 calories today, and did level 2 of the Shred. I wasn't going to do it since I've was feeling sick all day today. But I pushed through and got it done. I had to take more breaks then normal, but I did it, and it felt good.

So, I've made a set workout schedule. It's been "Oh, I'll workout 5 days a week" since I've started, but I need something more.
Monday: 30 Minutes Circuit Training
Tuesday: C25K
Wednesday: 30 Minutes Circuit Training
Thursday: C25K
Friday: Day of rest, if needed
Saturday: C25K AND 20+ minutes ST, CT or Yoga/Pilates
Sunday: 30 Minutes Cardio
Total fitness minutes: At least 205, including warm-ups and cool downs.
So, here's to October and losing 9 pounds!! :crossfingers:

We have a foster dog now and once she is gone, we will not be fostering for a while. That means I have to walk Max every day again. I was down 40 pounds lost for ONE DAY then I went back up. I had a battle with jelly beans and gummi worms for a few days...:boggle: I don't report my weight loss until I'm that weight for 3 days in a row. So I'm still at 37 pounds lost! I need to lose about 35 more though.
Anyway, here's the video!

Just thought I'd give an update here.
I am aiming to lose 9 pounds this month, but only lost .6 last week. I am glad it's a long month so I still have a shot! Weight loss has been slow for 3 weeks now. I'm not noticing too much of a difference in the way my clothes fit either. I'll be honest and admit I've had a few "I still look so fat, why am I even working so hard?" moments, but they quickly went away.
I am doing C25K. Started week 2 today. Woo hoo! It's going well. I just can't wait to be at the point where I can run constantly. There was another runner. He had been on the treadmill for over an hour and was doing a steady 5mph. I felt kind of dumb walking at 3.8, then catching up with him for 90 seconds, only to go back to my walking. But hey. We all have to start somewhere!
How are you ladies doing? I've kept up with Brandi's journal but haven't heard much from you other ladies.

Good for you Jenny! And I have to say you are super strong with all those negative comments on Facebook/Tumblr...the nerve of some people.
I've postponed The Shred for now - I know I know I'm such a procrasinator. But this is what I figure - I am working full-time and studying part-time. I have 2 assignments and an exam left and then I will never need to study again so I won't to devote any energy I have to getting through this course and exam and obtaining my CGA designation. I write my exam November 30th.
So after my exam I am going to devote myself to losing some weight as I am feeling pretty down on myself as I feel like the weight is piling on.

What are the negative comments? Somebody is shooting negativity at our Jenny? Who are these people and where can I find them to beat their a$$es? Okay, yeah, Gwen's a nonviolent person, but STILL - that's mean! :irked:
I am doing soooooo horrible. LOL :) I'm not even trying. But I love following along with what you guys are doing because it's the only thing that will eventually pull me out of my slump.
Jenny, you're a rock star and I'm so proud of you! :soppy:

:yeah_that: Jenny, you're doing awesome!
Me - I'm done with The Shred for the moment. I just didn't see anything happening to my body or weight. I'm back to doing the elliptical every day after work. Well, I'm working up to it. I'll do it for 25 min and then do ab and arm exercises from The Shred at the end of my elliptical session. I did it Sat and yesterday, and took a break today cause I wasn't feeling well all day. Hoping to get to bed early and feel better tomorrow. I'm hoping this boost of cardio from the elliptical will be what I need to lose some pounds...

She's had 2 "trolls" say she is so full of herself for posting about her progress....it's very mean but we are all defending her!

That's so icky. Why would somebody want to kick someone who is working so hard? :irked:

That is why I like the community here and am very selective about what I share elsewhere.
I am sorry Jenny, don't let them bother you!

Aw Gwen and Ashley. You'll find the time and dedication. Once the timing is right, you'll be losing weight like it's no one's business! Even if you have to make time.
Stacy, Sorry you had a bad day!
Ugh. The negative comments.
"i agree with the other user, you do seem self obsessed and annoying, we understand that you want to "live healthy" but why do you need to flaunt it everywhere?"
The other person called me self obsessed and annoying, obviously.
They are just random people (I have no idea who) reading my Tumblr and apparently getting annoyed. It just annoys me because the whole idea of the Tumblr is so I can brag about what I'm doing, keep myself motivated, try to inspire others and keep people like my Mom up to date. My Mom lives in California and I see her once a year. She has always wanted something like this for me, so I like posting it for her (and others to see). So, I respond (so I don't look like I'm 'too good' or 'too hurt' to respond) and then I ignore it. They're just haters with nothing better to do. I told them not to read it if it bothers them so much.
Thanks for the support ladies.

:yeah_that: Stacy's 100% right.
Jenny, for the record, I find you neither self obsessed nor annoying. And, frankly, I don't know how anyone could.

So I haven't been able to make it to the gym since SUNDAY. That seems like forever and it is driving me crazy. But, with bronchitis, even though I FEEL better I cannot push it until my antibiotics are done. :(
BUT... I lost 2.8 pounds this week! RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AF! I am so excited. That puts me at the 35 pounds lost mark, too! I guess watching what I eat has a bigger impact that I thought!!
