Our Story - Jeanne and Dan - August 22, 2009

Rehearsal

It was such a busy day on Friday! My mom was finishing tying the raffia ribbon on the programs. I was trying to pack for the hotel and get everything I needed together. It was the craziest and hectic morning!

My cousin came around 1pm, helped my mom a little bit and we were off at 2:30pm. On our way to the Marriott, I stopped by the florist because as she called me to let me know the flowers were almost done. They looked FABULOUS!!

Next stop was the Marriott. Checked in, dropped our stuff off and off we went to go and get pedicures. We got so caught up in the relaxation, I looked at the clock and we had to be at the rehearsal in one hour and we still had errands to run! We ran out of the salon, finsihed our errands, got back to the hotel, got ready in 10 minutes which was a record may I add, and off to the rehersal. We got there exactly at 6pm.

Rehersal went well, but longer than I thought. Don't have any pics of that yet!

Next was the dinner. Now keep in mind, August in Wisconsin is usually around 85 and humid. We made reservations at this really nice restaurant on the patio of a beautiful lake with a fish fry/chicken buffet, I thought it would be perfect for an August night. Nope, tt was 63 degrees, cloudy and windy. All our pretty clothes were covered up in Carhart sweatshirts and jackets! Food was still good though!

After dinner, the girls and my mom and I went back to the hotel and Dan and my dad went back to our house. I started crying when I said bye to him! It kinda hit me that the next time I would hear his voice or see him would be at the alter. I also won't be able to fall asleep next to him or wake up by him. It would all be worth it I kept telling myself!!!

Yay! Can't wait to read more. :) It was weird saying goodbye to DH after our rehearsal as well. We had been each other's touch points of sanity throughout the week, and the thought of having to deal with everyone else alone was overwhelming! So, yeah, I cried a little too! :bbredface:

Wedding Day!

I got up around 6am and just laid in bed for about an hour. Started getting ready to go get our hair done! I wasn't nervous at all, just calm! I think I shocked my mom!

At 8:00am I get a call from my limo driver that he was waiting! We got down there shortly after that. First stop, PANERA BREAD of course!!! I think we all felt like rockstars pulling up there, having the door opened for us and going to get bagles and off we went to the hair salon!

Hair took about 1 1/2 hours. I LOVED MY HAIR! My mom's and cousin's hair didn't turn out, the sylists sucked so they had to re-do it back at the hotel. Thank god they both know what they are doing and their hair turned out great after!

We had the bagles and memosas at the salon, it was fun!

We got done at the salon and we were on the way back to the hotel to get ready! Ok, so the partying started early:

The rest of the morning was so crazy. We had an hour in a half to get ready before the photographers got there, and that time went by so fast. My cousin is almost done with her schooling for make-up, so I was so lucky for her to do my make-up, well, eyeshadow at least!

Before we knew it, the photographers were here!

Dan was on a different floor getting ready with the guys and the other photographer so my dad and brother were kinda running around between the two floors! Before we knew it, we were on our way to the chapel!

Wedding Day! Pt 2

We really only had 15 minutes to spare getting into the chapel, walking in with my posse lol:

I was getting anxious when I was waiting. I saw our pastor walking towards us and I was like, "is it time already?!" While we were waiting to walk, my cousin started crying, then I started crying and then I looked at my dad and he had one tear rolling down his cheek. He isn't at all an emotional guy, in fact, he hides his emotions all the time so when he started, I lost it. I cried half way down the aisle and then I saw Dan. I started smiling!

I couldn't believe how many people showed up at the chapel either!

The ceremony lasted about 20 -30 minutes. It felt like 5 minutes!

Pictures took about 2 hours afterwards, but they turned out awesome! We were even able to make all of the cocktail hour which was so cool. We were able to talk with everyone and mingle because we didn't get a chance after the wedding and I knew it would be hard after dinner.

I'm waiting to get our CD with all them on there so I can share our favorites under the pictures section!

Reception!

Food was great, everything look stunning and exactly how I imagined. Cake was perfect (I wish I had a picture available).

There was one extremely inapprorpiate speech that I will write about in the private section (as promised from my journal). I really hurt my dad, mom and family, but we were able to move on and enjoyed the night!

It was an awesome day. Everything was perfect and everyone had a blast. We keep getting phone calls asking when can we can do it again and how much fun everyone had! The reception was so much fun! Mission accomplished! Look for the pro pics soon in the pictures section!! :)

I'm sorry about the inappropriate speech - we were worried about that too so we ended up not allowing speeches just in case. I hope it wasn't TOO bad. I'll look out for that thread...

Thank you Sarah!! :) Actually, I had inspiration pics for my hair, but my stylist totally did her own thing with it too, I'm so happy she did because I loved my hair!
