Was your shower a surprise or did you know before hand? Did you like the way things turned out?

I am 5 months away from my wedding so I have not had a shower yet. I do know the dates of my shower so it will not be a surprise. My 1st shower is on Nov 4th and my second one is Nov. 11.

I haven't had it yet, but it isn't a surprise at all... I know when and where it is, I had to actually HELP with stuff for the shower (My BMs designed the invitations, but there were a few things I had to help do like photoshop some things... cause they didn't know how) and I imagine I'll probably end up helping address and stuff invitations because if I help, things will get done faster and they need to get done fast because they're already late.... I don't mind, but I feel kinda weird about it.

Nope, my sister wanted to make sure that she threw me the kind of shower that I wanted and I was ok with the theme and everything before hand. She even ran the games past me...which I really didn't care which ones we played because my sister hates the stupid shower games...so they ones she had for options were really fun ones.

The bridal shower was planned by my FMIL and her sister/sister-in-law, they were very kind about asking me how I wanted things done and inviting people and so on! It was perfect!

I knew everything about my shower. Maybe that is because I planned the majority of it and ended up paying for a large chunk of it as well.

I wish I'd had this thread a couple weeks ago before my shower. My shower has been such drama because of the surprise factor. My mother and MOH were very open with me about what was happening and getting my feedback. My FMIL convinced my mother it would be nice to have the shower at her house (2 hours away from my mom) and that she wanted to keep that a surprise. I knew about it the day it was decided and I also knew how little she was helping my mother and MOH with it. I was in such a bad mood the day of the shower because all I could think of was my mother lugging ALL of the food and decorations so far when it could've been at a nice place in her town. So anyway... it wasn't a surprise, but some people thought it was and when I walked through the door and wasn't shocked they got mad. I fessed up and told them I'd known for months. ;)

My MOH tried to do a surprise. But through her od behaviour and me being really upset one night that it was so close to the wedding and i had heard nothing about her wanting to do a shower and only heard her tell me that she didn't have the time or energy and she didn't want to make me have to do one more thing. So Mark kinda let it slip.
I was surprised by the people who where there. She got a really good friend from H/S who i hadn't seen in a long time because of going to different Universities there.

Nope, it wasn't a surprise. I kind of wish it had been, but there is nothing I can do about it now. And I am happy with the way it turned out!

I didnt have a shower. I guess because this was my second wedding. For my first wedding I had one I knew about because I had to go home for it and one I had no idea about and was totaly suprised.

I know when both of my showers are (7/29 and 8/6). I know who will be invited and where they are. I wish I knew more. I hate surprises and being the center of attention so I want to know more. I'm sure I'll find out a lot about the second one, but it's the first one that has me nervous. My mom is planning that one, and, well lets just say it should be interesting.

I had two showers. One was supposed to be a surprise and the other I knew about. My DH slipped about the one that was to be a secret.. lol

Not at all...I help decide what day we had it.
I had to give everyone my guest lists and decide who goes to which shower, and with my schedule, I had to pick the dates too LOL.. I'm having one in my hometown and one here in Sac with my local friends and Matt's family!
