I was enquiring about having my makeup tattooed on, but then I thought: man, if she did it wrong, it would be like it FOREVER! so it was expensive anyway and I was looking into alternatives,
found some henna pens, they last 4 days plus so they say...?
Iv ordered some, im gonna see if it stays on and looks ok, i hope it does im thinking of my honeymoon and waterproofing my face lol!!!
anyone ever tried such a thing!? xx

I don't think I'd do the tattood makeup and I like tattoos ;)
I have never heard anyone using henna for regular makeup, but have heard the traditional henna body art lasts for days.
:goodluck:
Let us know how it works for you!
Where did you get what you ordered?

My friend has her makeup tatooed on and it looks great, IMO. For some people, it would look really silly, but not her.

My FH gets henna tats once in a while to try out designs he might want later, they last him usually like 4 or 5 days. But it may be different depending on body area, like face may wear off sooner due to oils, etc.
I've only ever seen body tats in henna, which tend to be dark, but I don't know much about henna makeup. It sounds like a cool idea though :D

Cool, I am gonna check out the site ... let us know how you like the henna pen :)
I looove the idea of using henna to do makeup!!! I'm anxious to see how it works out for you! I'd say *no way* on tattooing the makeup - but then again, I like to change my makeup style once in awhile, from "nothing" to "maybe some mascara today" :D :D :D
Please share with us how the henna pens work!!!

I used to do permanant makeup and its really not as permanent as it used to be. If you don't get it touched up every three or so years it fades away. They don't use regular tattoo ink. I had my lips done and within 6 months it was completly gone. And i did get my eyeliner done but just on the top. And when we do makeup they use numbing agents so you just feel like your eyes are vibrating you don't feel the needles. but the lips they kind of hurt because when you get to the top you are in the sinus area and it hurts.

ooh! great advice! I was going to get eyebrows and eyeliner, and good to know about the numbing agents iv never even had a normal tattoo so i was v scared!! Its something I would concider then if it does eventually fade (incase I hated it!) but the place I went is pretty expensive, so maybe ill shop around. thanks for the advice! xx

ok so i tried the henna pens last night, I wanted to see if it would stay on over night, and/or in the shower! So I applied it last night and my eyebrows (which I need to darken to give them shape as they are a weird light browny colour)
so they were on still in the morning! usually i use my pencil but it rubs off during the night and i quickly apply it again before FH gets in bed lol! im a bit sad like that lol...!!
the eyeliner however wasnt on in the morning.
The shower test didnt go well either it washes off really easy, i tried not to rub my face as you wouldnt in the pool i guess.. but didnt stay on as well as i had hoped :(
Also feels like you are drawring on your face with a marker pen LOL xx

Yea permanent makeup is pretty expensive but you get what you pay for. If they are doing it cheap that means they are using cheap products that sometimes will turn purple over time or they won't heal to the color you want. It's a major investment for you and for the person doing it. I had to stop just because i couldn't afford the insurance for it anymore. But i would suggest if you still want it done to save a little here and a little there and go to the most reputable person you can. You don't want orange lips and purple eyebrows.

Man, that stinks that it didn't work! It sounded like a great idea! I am sure that you won't need to have it permanently on. Your FH will think you are beautiful regardless of what makeup/ or no makeup you have on! As for the pens... If they didn't do as they said, I would send them back and try to get my money back!
Maybe they didn't work because the pens are diluted/preserved in some way. I'm sure with a fresh henna mixture you can probably get the effect you're looking for. I have a friend who does henna for her business and she makes it fresh whenever she does some art for clients.
